### 2/5 — Drops data

*2019-06-06, version 3.1.0*

After carefully entering calories, the app erases the data you enter when you return to the main screen. Such a great idea and such poor execution. Desperately needs a patch.

### 2/5 — Can’t delete a “previous day”

*2018-08-01, version 3.1.0*

I accidentally added a “previous day” and there is no way to delete it...
Anyone know how to get it off?

### 3/5 — Few bugs but it works

*2015-01-14, version 3.0.1*

Pros: Simple way to track calories on the fly. Cheap. Birds eye view of over-calorie days.

Cons: The date is off by 1 day on everything. No ability to delete days (they're permanent). App icon counter is broken.

I dig the app, but it will be better once all the bugs are fixed!

### 3/5 — It's an ok app

*2014-02-04, version 2.0.3*

Don't know that it is worth the money I spent but I like it for the most part I just wish there was a way to delete the duplicate dates I have on mine.

### 4/5 — Almost perfect

*2013-03-06, version 2.0.2*

This is exactly what I was looking for in a calorie counting app - simple, no frills, easy to use. I like that you can set a calorie goal and it displays how many calories you have left for the day, instead of just keeping a running total for you. I LOVE that it has an icon badge where your remaining calories left for the day are visible right there on your home screen.

I gave this app 4 stars instead of 5 because of some functionality issues. When I first started using it and was figuring out what all of the tabs did, I accidentally added a day in the history but then I couldn't delete it. So there it sits in the history with a zero for the calories and I can't get rid of it (stuff like that drives me nuts). Also, as some other reviewers have stated, the history function is unusable as far as I'm concerned if it doesn't automatically save your data from day to day and calculate the ave calories, days under/over target, etc. itself. There's no way I'm going to manually enter the previous day's calories every single day - I wanted simple, that's why I purchased this app.

I am a dietitian and I would love to recommend this app to my clients, but I hesitate to do so until these items are fixed. They seem like pretty easy, quick fixes and hopefully there will be an update soon. I don't want to be saying to my clients, "yeah, there's this really awesome app for counting calories, BUT….."

If these changes were made, it would essentially be a perfect calorie counting app (at least in the eyes of this dietitian). ;)

### 4/5 — Perfect: If you are already smart on Calories

*2012-08-01, version 2.0.2*

Just bought a couple days ago. This is almost exactly what I was looking for. Simple, don't need to look up numbers, just put the total calories I just ate and it keeps a running total.

To make it 5 Stars:
Have it populate the History by itself instead of making me put in yesterday's total myself. It would also be nice to put in the times I ate those calories and have a view of the times and amounts for a day on one page.

Thanks!

### 1/5 — Do not buy

*2017-04-30, version 3.1.0*

Does not record past dates' data correctly, and cannot even track a single days' calories without randomly erasing itself.

### 1/5 — Broken

*2017-01-11, version 3.1.0*

Don't Buy.

### 1/5 — Outdated

*2015-12-14, version 3.1.0*

Needs an update. Badge doesn't work.

### 1/5 — Frustrating

*2015-06-13, version 3.1.0*

I agree it's worthless. And apparently it doesn't know the current date because it is always one day behind. That's frustrating.

### 1/5 — Worthless

*2015-05-27, version 3.1.0*

Stupid. Can't track macros

### 1/5 — This should simply taken off the app store

*2013-04-28, version 2.0.3*

Hey man, i actually paid money for this app- and i hv been trying to patiently put up with it 'cuz i keep thinking "this is such a small thing to ask-add up calories every day then keep them on record..."
This app cannot even do that!
Days go missing, data is dropped, and the last few days take days to even show up at all, making it impossible to edit yesterday"s count.
May i hv my money back?

### 1/5 — Why can't they just fix it?

*2012-05-19, version 2.0.2*

The application itself is a great idea. It is simple enough for someone who actually knows what they are doing to quantify his or her intake with little hassle.
That having been said, they broke the application with one of their earlier updates (cosmetic), and several updates later, it still does not work. I would expect a simple program for which I actually paid to NOT be crippled.

Boo.

### 1/5 — Wish I could give it good ratings

*2012-05-04, version 2.0.2*

... I can't give this app a good rating. The idea is great - let me count only the number of calories I eat. That's all this app does. Unfortunately, I have to manually kill the app to make the homepage show yesterday's data, and sometimes it doesn't even accept my input. It's too buggy to perform a simple function of counting calories.

Great idea, poor execution.

### 1/5 — Vp

*2011-12-14, version 1.0.6*

Terrible don't buy does not have food listed how the hell you know how
Much calories you consumed

### 2/5 — Deletes your data?

*2020-07-13, version 3.1.0*

Maybe I’m missing something, but it seems like the app will only keep history for previous days. It will delete your carefully counted data once it’s midnight (the next day) & will make you manually enter your calories as a previous day in order to keep a record of it. Pretty annoying but it’s a very nice, simple app for those of us that already know the general calorie values of our food intake & wish to track without hassle. Bummer that it has this data deletion bug, though. Please fix it - I paid for this app!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Old as the hills but works great..

*2020-10-06, version 3.1.0*

Hasn't been updated in ages, which is a shame because it's a great, simple and effective app. I don't need many (most) of the bells and whistles on other calorie counting apps. - just want to keep a running total all day, period. For that purpose, this is superb.

### 5/5 — Simple Does What It’s Designed To Do

*2019-08-12, version 3.1.0*

Works great for me

### 5/5 — Just what I've been looking for!

*2014-10-06, version 3.0.1*

This app is simple, intuitive, and easy to use. No tedious entry of foods -- just straightforward calorie tracking. Love it!

### 5/5 — Just what I needed

*2013-02-13, version 2.0.2*

The ads make the free version unusable, but the paid version is great. If all you want is a simple way to track your daily calorie intake without all the unnecessary garbage, don't hesitate.

### 5/5 — Exactly what I wanted

*2011-11-16, version 1.0.5*

Very straight forward and simple to use. No searching through a database just to add my food. And instant feedback on calories left for the day. I'm excited, and much more likely to log my calories now!
Update: Wait?!? What?!? I have to do the math now? Am I missing something?!? That's NOT easier. It's horrible!
Update: Thanks!! Perfect!!! 😃

### 5/5 — Just what you need

*2011-10-26, version 1.0.5*

Instant input of calories perfect to keep a back of the envelope track of what your intake has been. No fuss. Simple.

Update: Bug. It doesn't seem to be tracking days on ios5.

### 5/5 — Thank you SimonApps!!

*2011-10-18, version 1.0.5*

Love the update - this is a great, simple calorie calc & easy to use! Does the math for you (let's face it - adding is hard lol).

### 4/5 — Great app for simple and fast calorie tracking

*2017-04-23, version 3.1.0*

Update: would love if calories would sync with the Health app! Just what I was looking for. A fast little app where I could track my day's calories without having to put in the exact food. I gave it only four stars because I wish there was a way to view calorie intake in graph form and the ability to export the graph.

### 4/5 — Perfect. Simple. Lightweight.

*2016-10-31, version 3.1.0*

TLRD; IF you are entering the weight loss scene and currently have a bad diet/no concept of healthy eating (i.e. Your daily meals account for 80% fat, 10% protein and 10% carbs) - this is NOT the app for you. Go get myfitnesspal or myplate. Those apps will help you eat your caloric goals around the proper portions of nutrients.

IF you are aware of the food you put in your mouth/have a generally well-balanced diet but just haven't been exercising enough or recognize the need to eat a little less - this is the no frills, no time wasted app! If you could care less about social media & logging things sugar, protein, carbs, etc. every time you eat - this is the app for you! It's simple & effective for those who don't need a lot of hand holding.

Let's face it, we sometimes forget to monitor our portions or even increase our caloric intake without paying much attention. I don't eat gallons of ice cream and BigMacs everyday. My diet is well-rounded nutrient wise. I just need a caloric logger to account/adjust for my recent inactivity. I stumbled on this app by accident. I was about to re-download Myfitnesspal or my plate for the 3rd/4th time. You know what my problem was with those apps? There was just TOO MUCH. Excess. Why do I want to manually add the sugar and protein content to a diary entry? It became such a tedious and painful thing to do every time I ate. I am not obese or fat by any means. But I want to make sure I'm staying within my caloric range.

I was thinking: it would be perfect if i could just have a program that would let me log just one number. No fancy stuff. No stupid social media, support groups, or fluff. I just need a repository to store how many calories I'm taking in each day. That's it. I don't count exercise in my caloric intake (i.e. When you exercise, your caloric allotment temporarily increases like in the MFP or MP apps).

What I like about this app is its simplicity. Not so much it's price tag for the level of simplicity this app offers. But hey, for $1 it's not that bad. No ads.

Here's what I love: the simplicity! Yes!! Finally, just use a number grid to enter your calories. Then done! You are big boys and girls. You look at the label of the food you eat and you input according to how many servings you had. One thing I hated about other calorie counter apps were the hundreds of different pre-set values for the same type of food. It's inaccurate and easy to fool yourself.

Next, the file size. This thing is less than 1MB!!! That's like smaller than a single photo you can take on your phone! What is the size on those other apps? 80MB? Again, for someone who doesn't need the macros tracking or water glass counter...this app is lean and a very good file size on my iPhone.

Unfortunately, the calorie count as a badge icon does not function for me. The app is not even listed in my phone as capable of receiving notifications (the setting where you can turn on/off badge count). Looks like the developer ran into a road block and couldn't find the solution? Bummer. :/

I also like the basic percentage tracking. How you fared each day- did you stay on track or go over your goal? It's great.

My only hesitation before purchasing this was that I looked at the app version history and noticed the developer makes updates only once a year. And there is no entry for 2016. And the latest official iOS version supported is iOS8!!! I'm on 9.3.5 (I refuse to upgrade to 10).

However the app is working fine and no glitches or weird graphics so far. I only hope that if I update to iOS10 that the app will still function. But for $1, I'll gladly take that risk.

### 4/5 — Date is off

*2014-08-10, version 3.0.1*

The date is off - behind by a calendar day - and it's really bugging me!!! Otherwise, I lime this simple, quick to use, app.
