## What is Calories Not Count?

Calories Not Count is a calorie counter and food diary that looks past the number.

Every food and dish shows how good it really is for you — a Nutri-Score grade and traffic lights for sugar, saturated fat, salt and fiber — and what to swap it for if you want something better in a similar portion.

Calories turn into your own movement: instead of an abstract 350 kcal you see "40 minutes of cycling" or "an hour of yoga" — the activities you actually do.

What's inside:
• A database of foods and dishes with nutrition per 100 g, real portions and several cups of coffee at once
• Dish photos: our own model names the dish from a picture — 15 photos a month for free, once you sign in
• Barcode scanning and Nutrition Facts labels: once you sign in, our own text-recognition server reads the label and forgets the photo; without signing in, it is read on your phone
• Healthier swaps from the same or a neighbouring category
• Your daily norm from age, height, weight and lifestyle
• Energy in kcal or kJ — your choice in Profile
• Dishes from many cuisines, including Australian, New Zealand, Canadian, Malaysian and Singaporean favorites
• Steps and active calories from Apple Health in one tap
• The day, the week and the month in short: how balanced they were, not just how much you ate
• CSV export of your whole diary
• Optional sign-in with an email code to keep the diary on all your devices

No ads and no tracking. The app gives general information and is not medical advice.

Plus subscription: 300 dish photos a month instead of 15, week and month reviews (habits rather than totals: what repeats, what moved, what to top up and what to swap), a one-page report for your doctor or dietitian over 14, 30 or 90 days, and the whole diary history instead of the last three months.
• "Plus, monthly" — 1 month
• "Plus, yearly" — 1 year
The subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the period. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase; cancel any time in your Apple ID settings.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.7 — 2026-10-21

New screen design (Oct 19):
• the first screen shows a sample entry;
• diary screens and the empty Today screen share one consistent look.
Add: a single Photo button instead of several rows of buttons.
Weekly and monthly summaries: all sections look the same.
The food reference keeps explanations collapsed, so the main content comes first.

### 1.6 — 2026-10-15

• Energy in kilojoules: choose kcal or kJ in Profile (kJ by default in Australia and New Zealand).
• New dishes: Malaysian and Singaporean hawker food (nasi lemak, laksa, char kway teow, roti canai, kaya toast and more), plus dishes from Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
• Search understands local names: chips, yoghurt, capsicum, courgette, nasi, mee, kopi and more.
• Dish photos are recognized more accurately.
• Weekly summary: up to three main source dishes for each of your goals.

### 1.5 — 2026-10-14

• New dishes: shotis puri, lobiani, chakapuli, shrimp in cream sauce, squid-ink spaghetti with red caviar, fettuccine Alfredo and more.
• Search: an exact name match now comes first.

### 1.4 — 2026-10-09

• Swaps are suggested only where a dish really needs one, with a "Why" line.
• 434 more ready-made dishes in the database.
• Search handles typos, any word order and different word forms.
• The week view is one block; an entry can be copied to another meal.
• Photo recognition keeps going if you leave the screen or minimise the app.

### 1.3 — 2026-09-25

• If the server is updating or you're offline, you now see an "Updating…" screen instead of an error — the app reopens by itself once the connection is back.
• Plus purchases are now reliably linked to your account and show up on all your devices.
