### 1/5 — Lifetime unlock gone

*2025-08-14*

This dev offered a promotional free lifetime license a few months ago which I claimed. I played around with the app for a few days but put it aside until I had time to start working with it seriously. I reinstalled it today to begin to do so and found that all premium features are locked, the only “Pro” offerings are subscriptions, and there’s no lifetime license to be found in the UI to Restore (although the lifetime in-app purchase is still listed in the AppStore). Disappointing.

**Developer response:** Hi! I’m really sorry about the trouble with your lifetime subscription. Please reach out to me at contact@getcals.app, and I’ll make sure we get this sorted for you right away!

### 1/5 — pen and paper works better

*2024-11-10, version 1.3.23*

issues ive run into
- trying to remove meals from future days messes up the pop up and i can no longer use it on that day of the week (im referring to the pop up including remove meal, clear meal contents etc.)
- logging food past midnight for a past day, it seems to log correctly the night of then when i check what i ate later in the week everything has been moved an extra day back than when i had logged it (eg logging what i ate wednesday on Thursday at 12:30am then checking on friday and seeing those logged foods were put on tuesday)
- one i open one day it keeps sending me back to the “current day” logging page if i even swipe slightly wrong the screen so i feel like i have to be super delicate with the app

the interface of this app has been my favorite thus far its cute and aesthetic but a pain to use, you cant ask people to pay for an app that doesnt even have basic working functionality for free users, i had wanted to upgrade but the upgrade features are not that worth it and on top of that the bugginess has made me want to delete the app as weeks of progress has been lost due to the previously mentioned issues with logging prior days

im going back to using pen and paper this app is so bad (but cute)

### 1/5 — Crashes on launch

*2024-07-16*

After the last update the app crashes immediately on launch.

**Developer response:** I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing crashes with the app. I have identified the issue and I've been working on a fix that will be included in the next update. If you're still having issues after the update please contact me at contact@getcals.app.

Thank you for your patience and for the feedback! 🙌

### 3/5 — 希望增加支持中文

*2025-03-24*

Great app! Please add Chinese support so more people can use it.

### 4/5 — It’s a good app but…

*2025-07-29, version 1.6.22*

You can’t scan food and you can only put it in using keyboard no microphone either but it sets your goals based on what you put in it and it’s a good app just need to improve that

### 4/5 — Almost perfect!

*2025-03-31*

- When searching for a food, it will help to be able to change the portion size. Maybe is possible and I don’t know how to do it.

If we could import recipes or create our own recipes, and then be able to know how many cal / carbs per portion (similar to Lose It or Cronometer) will be amazing.

Love the clean uncluttered UI

### 4/5 — Great calorie and macro tracking

*2025-03-30, version 1.4.23*

The only reason I gave it four stars is because I feel as though the calories burned for each exercise is more generalized than it is accurate for each person. I definitely think that it would be ideal if each person was able to put in their own calorie burned total or were able to at least edit it. That way I could keep the generalized setting for people who don’t want to edit it. Otherwise, this app is really awesome.

### 4/5 — Great! one complaint

*2024-06-22, version 1.3.4*

there are many foods missing including pork role. U should make a organic food option so it’s easier to find thanks

### 5/5 — Lifetime unlock (restored)

*2025-08-21, version 1.6.24*

UPDATED REVIEW

Well. Highly responsive dev. Responded to my review within a day, responded to my description of the problem within a day of my more detailed email, and shipped an updated version of the app a day after that. I have been moved from disappointed to impressed. Well done!

### 5/5 — Very responsive dev

*2025-04-05, version 1.5.0*

I asked the dev if it would be possible to also share nutrition data with Apple Health, I’m T1D so this helps me track carbs & how they affect my BG, it only took a few days for that to happen, impressive.
I like the clutter free clean UI a lot, even better now that helps manage my BG

## Most praised reviews (8 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Almost perfect!

*2025-03-24*

If we could import recipes & also create our own recipes, and then be able to know how many cal / carbs per portion (similar to Lose It or Cronometer) will be amazing.

I’m moving to Europe soon, and I hope the food search / scan feature will work there

### 5/5 — New to this

*2025-03-11, version 1.4.21*

Easy to use. Love it

### 5/5 — Great!

*2025-03-11, version 1.4.21*

It is super, it has a lot of different types of food and it actually counts everything! Without paying!! Great app!

### 5/5 — Almost perfect

*2025-01-12, version 1.4.16*

Add adjustable macronutrient goals and the app is perfect. For example I’m cutting right now but need to consume more protein in order to maintain muscle so the default settings don’t really list the correct protein goal. If we can have adjustable presets I believe this app could be perfect.

### 5/5 — i love this app

*2024-12-05, version 1.4.4*

this app is amazing, everything i’ve been looking for and it’s free for the most part, i love seeing my macros and being able to scan, i 10 out of 10 would 100% recommend

### 5/5 — 🪼

*2024-07-04, version 1.3.12*

I’m just using this after having it downloaded for like a month or two, and I can’t wait to implement it into my daily life. I’m overweight for my age (14….) at 5’5’’ and I just wanna feel confident in my body. This is going to be a huge help, I’m sure!!!

### 5/5 — Updated!

*2024-05-03, version 1.2.10*

The developer fixed the issue and it works PERFECT! This app is easy to use and clean and simple! Give it a try!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2024-03-06*

Does exactly as described ✌️

**Developer response:** Thank YOU very much! ⭐️
