This app is apparently streaming at all times, not just when you want to watch it. Used 2gb in a matter of hours and I watched it for about three minutes. Now I have no cell service on either of my phones until I buy more data. Keep looking if you need to use mobile data on the camera.

Found out after purchase that using a recycled iPhone as a camera requires a forced app restart every 24 hours.  Inconvenient if you are at home, and useless if you are offsite.

Setup was easy and I love that I can use older phones until I can afford better dedicated hardware. The downside to this app is it’s pay to play. You have to subscribe in order to actually use it for longer than a few minutes. If the developer continues to supper their app, then this could be a sleeper app for iOS.

Unfortunately I’ve paid for the full version, as I’ve now had to spend more money on a camera because this app is simply not reliable. If you want something that won’t suddenly just stop showing the feed despite the source camera working perfectly fine, just get a camera instead, much less hassle long term.

Upgraded and paid for the premium version. App lets me
Open the camera but is constantly “connecting” now despite resetting my internet and phones. What a rip off and waste of money.

I’ve tried numerous different ways to fix it and before I purchased the forever version it had no problems it was after I purchased it for the forever version is when I had multiple problems including screen failing to display, connection issues despite being being on WiFi or both data and WiFi mode still had issues, and just for using it for 5 minutes they lock you out of monitoring and they keep popping up buy their subscription where I shouldn’t have. I recommend you not use this unless you love connection issues, app crashes, black screens, and screeching noises. Please don’t buy it!

In North Cornwall, I have set iPhone 6S camera up looking outside through a window, on Wi-fi, with motion detect disabled (looking outside gives too many detections-fair enough) permanently on charge and Notifications on, with no power saving enabled, but after one or two days it won’t connect with my iPad Air2 any more. I have to go to iPhone6S and refresh Cam&Cam again. Re-booting iPad Air 2 makes no difference. What am I doing wrong? It is a superb app, and I can change to HD, or night time easily. I can see who is coming to the door!

I have to re-start the camera device almost every day.
I have had no help from the developer.
I have been through in detail the camera device (iPhone 6S) settings to keep camera on all the time. I wondered if the camera was giving up in the hours of darkness because it could not find video, so I left a light on in the area. I also set a monitor device (another iPhone) to maintain the connection in the background.
But the camera becomes disconnected and will not reconnect without me re-booting the camera.
I am requesting a refund of the £9.99 annual subscription I paid.

I have tried several video monitoring tools, and this one is the simplest and most user friendly. Ideal for basic home use. Especially good if you do not want to buy extra cameras.

Really handy that there is no need to mess with routers or IP addresses. Just downloaded it on two old devices, placed one near the window and kept the other with me that was enough. Great for basic monitoring.

It’s such a simple concept to use one or more devices as cameras and another as the monitor. And so many other apps can’t get it right. I know, I’ve tried them. But Cam&Cam does! 

Pricing is reasonable too and you’re not forced into a subscription. Try it for a few bucks and then buy it outright without breaking the bank. 

Even with the usual hiccups of network streaming, it’s nearly perfect. You can turn on the camera flashlight from the monitor, transmit live audio from cameras to monitor, send dictated messages to the camera speakers, trigger recordings with movement or sound detection, raise the brightness of cameras through the monitor, and saves pics/videos locally. No privacy concerns with a faceless company storing your data, and again, no cloud storage subscription.

Cam&Cam exceeds expectations. Especially for the cost. Great job! Everyone I know has an old iPod/iPhone laying around and I wont hesitate to suggest this app. And it’s not just for security. Watch a live feed through the window where you feed the birds and squirrels, snap a pic or video of your cat at the scratching post, or down near the dog bed to watch/listen to your dog snore 😂.

Absolutely worth every dollar!
