I have a Nextbase 380GWX Dashcam and I made several attempts to connect the Camviewer app to the cam. I even tried using My Nextbase app but that didn’t work either. In frustration I wrote a bad review on the My Nextbase app giving it 1 star. Following this Nextbase Support contacted me and told me that the My Nextbase doesn’t support the 380GWX. They then talked me through the setup procedure using Camviewer and everything is now working fine. ### 5/5 — If you're having connection issues, update the firmware *2021-10-23* I bought this dash cam for, like many others, the ability to connect via WIFI to view and download clips. But, also like many others, I have experienced connection issues where I'd connect to the WIFI but the app didn't recognise it and kept diverting me to the connection settings. However, using a little common sense, I checked the Nextbase website and found a firmware update. After following the instructions, the cam operates perfectly now. A few tips: • Before using an SD card to install the upgrade, you should format the card in the cam itself. I tried to format the card twice via Windows but just kept getting an, "Invalid card..." error. After formatting the card in the cam, transferring the files, and restarting the device, it worked perfectly. • If you're worried about losing any previously stored footage, you can use a new/different SD card. Alternatively, copy the contents of the existing card to a PC, format the card, perform the upgrade, then transfer them back afterwards. • During the upgrade, all cam settings will be reset back to default so make sure to set them back after. Now I have the upgraded firmware installed, I'm very happy with the cam and would recommend. However, I'm aware there's a v2 series out there so would probably opt for one of those (including the new app). ### 5/5 — Langage *2020-04-09* Je viens d’acquérir une dashcam nexbase 412gw, je ne l’ai pas encore testé. Merci ### 5/5 — Updated Firmware on Camera works perfect *2018-12-26* I was concerned as many have been over the inability to transfer files via WiFi in recent months but a quick scout on the Nextbase website for any updates and the issue has been resolved. I followed the very simple instructions for updating the camera to firmware R6.4 & everything is now working perfectly again. For info I have an iPhone 6s running iOS 12.1.2. Glad to have this really great camera working as it should again but perhaps this info should be available in the App Store so that the bad reviews aren’t received. The app is fine & it’s the camera that needs a firmware update & it looks like a lot of people aren’t aware of this. ### 4/5 — Dash cam *2024-01-31, version 2023.3* Good but takes too long to download videos ### 4/5 — Gh *2019-06-05* I am writing my review again as I had problems connecting the WiFi but after contacting nextbase they told me I needed to download the latest firmware for the camera which you can find on their website, after doing this it’s improved significantly, still a bit patchy but much better, I would advise anyone having the same issues to do the same and download version 6.9 Hopefully one day I can give it 5 stars UPDATE After playing around with this system for a while now I have found changing the settings for the video clips from 3 minutes to 2 minutes and works almost perfectly, I have tried many many times and it has only failed once.
