B1 (Preliminary English Test)

Candidates listen to recordings of dialogues, monologues, and conversations to answer questions related to the information conveyed

Speaking

The Speaking test is taken face to face, with two candidates and two examiners. It tests your use of English with tasks that show how well you can control your grammar and vocabulary.

Writing

The writing test assesses your ability to produce clear, well-structured texts in English. You’ll complete tasks that may include emails, essays, reports, articles, letters or reviews. Grammar

English grammar is the set of structural rules of the English language. This includes the structure of words, phrases, clauses, sentences, and whole texts. In other words, grammar is the structure and system of a language usually considered to consist of syntax and morphology.

Collocations

A collocation is two or more words that often go together. These combinations just sound "right" to native English speakers, who use them all the time. On the other hand, other combinations may be unnatural and just sound "wrong". Collocations are expected to show up during the B2, C1 and C2 examinations.
