But it could be better. That makes the lack of an update in 3 years a bit of a red flag for me. ### 3/5 — Almost! *2020-05-27* I paid for this app because it’s the best available, but there is so much room for improvement. I use it for recording birds on my feeders and the results are hit and miss. “Autofocus” turns back on every time I open the app, which means the camera re-focuses and thus records, every 2 minutes! I return after an hour to 50 videos of the camera focusing. However, without autofocus - the app cant seem to cope with light to dark transitions (sunrise). The powersave feature however is fantastic and means I can leave my phone unplugged for a few hours. What I would like? To have the ability to either zoom in on the camera, or to be able to select an “inclusion zone”. Only detecting motion on a selected block of screen. I would also appreciate more in-app information. Setup and linking to DropBox were easy. My only complaint is the motion sensitivity setting that triggers the camera to record is counter intuitive. High sensitivity means the camera is less sensitive to motion and low sensitivity means the camera highly sensitive to motion. Oh Frank, if your stuff is upside down, try turning your device the other way! I love it. Only one down fall, it stores all data to camera folder on the device. Yes there is the option to use drop box which works well, but still stores to iPad. When the memory is full the app gives up recording. Motion detection is a fairly processor intensive algorithm so we always recommend that if you want to leave it running for long periods, you should connect the device to a power source. Left the kitchen light on overnight and plugged in the device. Set the sensitivity to high. Rewarded with 79 video segments of 3 to 25 seconds between midnight and 5:30 am. Most were of Eek exploring for and eating crumbs on the floor. The most valuable showed him darting under the dishwasher and cabinet drawers. He climbed up the drawers like a ladder to the counter. The motion detector did not begin quite early enough to show him emerge, but that is okay, we know enough. The video was good enough to post an amusing minute on Facebook. Next we can set up the Tin Cat, which will capture Eek harmlessly, then we put barriers on his secret entries. And judging from the rat's behavior around the have-a-heart trap, that this app RECORDED FOR ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT, I suspect it knows the trap.
