Fairly clean and simple and intuitive. Barely had to edit. But over the past few years the “en$hi%%ification” process has gradually engulfed the app. It’s full of pop-ups, false starts, some sort of limitations on cards I can scan, and when it does scan it’s ridiculously bad now- I mean “MARIA” in huge clear typeface is seen as “MARUi” …. Literally! And then it doesn’t just give you the card for perhaps ten minutes, it delays and delays being able to edit and put into contacts because NOW it claims to be using “AI” which they claim removes the need to edit, haha. So much gone wrong with this app, even though I own it the bar is so low and this app has become so bad that I’m going to look around for another app that does basic capture and OCR without all the ridiculous game layers that have completely ruined CamCard from having any value at all. Can’t believe any developer would want to do so much work to ruin a decent functioning app- but here we are. Older review: Good could be great if advertised feature actually worked completely. I have the latest iOS and CamCard revision. Most cards required editing information even with the enhanced AI “smart” feature enabled. Also, contacts do not automatically go into your designated contacts. Other UX issues but above are my biggest concern. Doom on the developers whom instead of creating a different app that they could charge for at will, replaced the fully functional app that many of us paid for. This is extortion. SaaS is a failure. Write good software and charge a fair price for a license to use it. Beyond that, I do not have a relationship with you and I do not want a relationship with you. One thing is for sure. No one should continue a relationship with you. So long CamCard. You will not be missed. ### 1/5 — Uses live activities to show ads *2026-01-15, version 8.60.0* Leaving a review because this app had the audacity to put a live activity on my lock screen and show me an ad for their premium features. Absolutely not. ### 1/5 — Bad card now *2026-01-08, version 8.60.0* I had this CamCard since it came out. It was great over the past few years. It has become terrible and when I downloaded the new app, it was too difficult to use. Also, I do not want to pay a yearly fee. I have to find another business card holder. ### 1/5 — SCAM ALERT *2025-12-30, version 8.59.2* Steer well clear. Have used this app for a while, and it’s been getting significantly worse compared to competitors (lots of errors in text scanning requiring manual correction). So I signed up for premium to allow me to export my data and use someone else - I was going to sign up for a month for £10 but was then offered a “free trial” for three days. On taking this free trial, I was immediately charged £50 for a full year subscription. When I complained, the developer said the free trial was only for new users, but nowhere was this shown to me at the time of purchase. They are now refusing to refund, saying only Apple can do that. So I’ve been scammed out of £40. The ui and general navigation is a bit outdated(by about a decade, I used to use camscanner A LOT), but the functionality is impeccable. The fact that it supports caller identification(tho I’ve never got to have it utilised just yet) and backside scan are the killer features.
