The zoom itself is unchanged. ZOOM INDICATOR Turn off the on-screen zoom bar so it stays out of your recordings. MOTORISED ZOOM Hold the rocker and travel into the picture at a steady, even pace — the way a real zoom moves, not the way a phone does. The motor sound goes onto the recording with everything else. TAPE WEAR One slider in the viewfinder moves the whole look between fresh and worn out. Picture and sound age together. Every preset wears in its own way. YOUR OWN PRESETS Dial in a look, save it under your own name, and pass it on as a short code. Anyone can use a code you send them, whether or not they have Pro. Your presets follow you across your devices. FADE IN AND OUT Soft transitions while you're still recording. Picture and sound together, no editing afterwards. THE DECK Play, pause, fast forward and rewind your recordings, with a running counter and the picture breaking up the way it should while you shuttle. EDIT YOUR TAPES Trim a take, drop the one that didn't work, or put them in a different order. Available to everyone — a bad take no longer costs you the whole tape. COMBINE TAPES (Pro) Select two or more tapes and merge them into a single film, in order, with no loss of quality. SHORT TAKES Set the record button to 1, 3 or 5 seconds and collect small moments instead of long clips. A ring around the button counts it down. FRONT LIGHT Filming yourself in the dark now works. The screen becomes your light source. QUICK CAMERA SWITCH Double tap the viewfinder to flip between front and rear. Switching mid-take is available too, in Settings. ### 1.6.1 — 2026-08-09 Minor bugfixes ### 1.6.0 — 2026-07-31 Your recordings now save to Photos automatically. That's the big one in this update: stop recording, and the finished video lands in your photo library. No extra step, no exporting. SAVING - Every recording is saved to your library automatically - Each clip shows at a glance whether it's been saved - Older recordings that only lived inside Camcora can be saved after the fact – all of them, in one tap - Switch it off if you'd rather decide yourself MULTIPLE TAKES ON ONE TAPE (Pro) Record, stop, keep recording – it all lands on the same tape and saves as one continuous video. Change the preset between takes if you want. A short tracking glitch runs between the cuts, like the tape catching up. FASTER TO OPEN Camcora now sits in Control Center, on the Lock Screen and on the Action button. On devices with Camera Control, press to start and stop recording right from the button.
