This is not feasible during the week when I’m working. The company does respond to questions with basic answers on how to reset it but when you’re a 3 hour drive away from the property you want protected it wouldn’t be my first choice. I own two of these, one nigh vision and a regular Duckcam. Like I said when they work they work great but I won’t be buying another one. I also have no idea where the servers that are connecting the cam service to the internet are either so that’s a BIG question as to who has access to the video streams other than the owner. ### 3/5 — Needs Improvements (heres how) *2024-10-10, version 1.3.4* 1. Sort the album (downloaded videos) using dates. 2. Change the name of “Engineering mode” to “volume on or off”. And have an option to always have it on or closed. Also try to add an additional slider for the volume of the video. 3. The motion detection alarm needs improvement. when the alarm is triggered most of the time there is no notification (please fix this) and when you do please add the alarm trigger photo to the notification so us users can see who triggered the alarm. 4. Make the motion detection video duration and intervals changeable. ### 2/5 — Doesn’t work *2024-07-09, version 1.3.2* Can’t connect to app anymore. It was working and now it doesn’t. ### 3/5 — WiFi setup not clear *2023-01-30, version 1.1.4* It can be difficult to setup camera for WiFi as the setup instructions and interface are not clear on what needs to be done. WiFi unfortunately only works on 2.4 gig WiFi network not 5G so make sure your router is setup with a 2.4 gig network as well as 5G if you have a 5G dual band router. If it worked or if the English was better I think this camera would be awesome, but I had to give up ### 3/5 — Not easy but not rocket science *2021-11-28, version 1.0.5* It’s obviously chinese so you have to try ever at least once before things start making sense. There are numerous typos within the app and I couldn’t set it up using the automatic method but I was able to set it up manually. The camera connection looks ok but the interface doesn’t go full screen. It’s definitely not perfect but it gets by ok. I set for motion record and always switches back to loop record. And app will not send notifications when movement is detected. Do not waste your money on these cameras. ### 1/5 — STAY AWAY!!! *2026-06-10, version 1.4.2* This app is absolute trash. 85% of the time it won’t connect to the devices. When it shows connected and you select a device it crashes. When it does miraculously open a device it exhibits numerous issues; if you’re lucky it will give you a live view and only for a couple minutes of viewing before it crashes. Most of the time it will just flutter or stall. If you try to view SD files it will stall. If it actually loads the file to view the playback slider is inoperable. When you select a device it will frequently display a different device and crash. Overall there is nothing good about this app. It clearly was not tested nor does the developer care to fix it as no improvements or updates have been done in months. CAMDUCK is a fraud… ### 1/5 — Can’t set up *2026-06-05, version 1.4.2* Does not allow me to input WiFi name ### 1/5 — Unreliable and Unpredictable *2026-06-02, version 1.4.1* I have actually been using this for about two years because once I bought it, I am stuck with it until I get to finally back home and trash it. It worked perfect for the first two weeks. Until I left the country. It immediately stopped working. Then a few weeks later, it started working again. Then it stopped working again for about six months. And about 4 months later it started working again. But this time it only worked during the night. I was never able to get a connection during the day. Now all of a sudden, I don’t even get that anymore. I keep checking it every day hoping it goes back online. The device needs to be reset now and I cant figure out how to do that either. They need to make a video using a native english speaker that shows how to do everything step by step. I even resorted to youtube and found an equally terrible video which answered none of my questions. If the camera doesn’t connect to the wifi, reset the camera thru the app. Now I have remote viewing and it’s clear. The company does respond to emails and gives good advice to address problems. Also use a new unformatted memory card. It’ll save headaches. I like that I can FF thru recorded videos with having to download them. ### 4/5 — Functional though needs some polish *2024-04-06* The app has a lot of functionality for the security cameras and many settings. However it’s not intuitive to use in terms of the layout of the app, it can be quite confusing for a new user. There needs to be some hello and explanation what the settings and icons do as at the moment is guesswork. Some of the buttons are not translated so no idea what they do. The app is not quite finished and needs more work to make it more slick to a general audience ### 3/5 — Good, not great *2025-08-20, version 1.3.8* It took several attempts to connect the app to the device. I had to uninstall and reinstall the app at least three times because it would freeze in the middle of adding the camera and then the app would close. I would reopen the app and try to resume and it just kept closing. With the combination of deleting and reinstalling the app and attempting to add the camera somehow it just started working.
