The mic is not sensitive enough compared to a similar app. I wish it cpuld get more sensitive---I put it at the most sensitive already. Having a case on makes tapping difficult, but the big flaw is that I simply can't accept the fact that there is vertical stretch to the image in the vertical position. Yuck! When I tap on my bluetooth mic, it maxes the audio level to the red zone every time. Id read so many bad reviews for version 1.0 and was disappointed because I thought the app would be awesome! Then I noticed the most current version is 1.1, and I took the gamble that the developer had fixed the issues. I'm glad I did! The app worked like a charm and I had no issues with crashing, and pictures took every time! I wish there was an animation and a louder sound when a picture is taken, but I can't complain! Turning the sensitivity up makes it too sensitive to background noise. Haven't tried the bluetooth mic yet. Also crashes quite a bit. Tested a few self shots of myself with my flash, and it was totally responsive and took the pics! Sometimes a little too responsive, but hey -- It works... May need a little tweaking on my end. Don't be afraid to spend $1 on it. ### 3/5 — v1.0 Relax *2011-02-12, version 1.0* This is a first release and only 1 dollar. Why does everyone get so upset??? Heaven forbid you dollar menu apple pie isnt quite as hot as you hoped! First, this app works as advertised with a few bugs that the developer is probably addressing with their submitted updated. You are able to adjust sensitivity of the mic to trigger the shot. I did find the navigation to the library a bit quirky and photos taken in landscape were distorted and stretched. I actually think sliding your finger across the mic could reduce camera movement during the shot compared to tapping on an onscreen icon. Either way your touching the phone and remember this is certainly not a Pro camera rig. It did crash on me once after filing back and forth from the library to the live picture. The transition is very quick and will give you a great opportunity for that next quick pic. All in all this app is good and with some updates will be worth the $1. I suppose the 1 star reviewers are upset since that dollar could have been spent on a large mountain dew. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Doesn't work on iPhone 4S... *2011-10-26, version 2.3* This should be clearly stated in the app description. None of the shutter methods appear to work on iPhone 4S. ### 1/5 — $1 is a $1 in App Store economics *2011-02-13, version 1.0* Conceptually this is a 5 star app, but as-is, it simply doesn't deserve more than 1 star. I have used 4 different headsets with an iPhone 4 and the app does not allow you to use the button on a headset, which is what I believed to be it's primary function. I have played around with the mic/ sensitivity control which did effect it's functionality. This either worked but crashed the app after shooting the pic, or caused it to become hypersensitive to the point that it wouldn't stop shooting until it crashed the app. Tapping the mic only works with any consistency when the phone is naked. This app needs a lot of work before it deserves a price tag... or defensive 4 star reviews. ### 1/5 — Does not work *2011-02-12, version 1.0* The app starts for me (unlike many others here) but there's no way to take a picture. Clicking the headset button has no effect, and the mic-based trigger doesn't work either. Completely useless. I'm amazed that Wingdinger2 actually managed to make it work. Care to tell us how?? ps: tried the link to the Developer's support page, and Camera Mic isn't even listed as one of their apps!!!
