## What is CameraAdapt?

Pick any photo's look, enter your specific gear, and get the original camera settings used + a full recipe adapted to your exact camera and lens in seconds.

You see a photo you love. The problem is never the look — it's that it was shot on a body and a lens you don't own, so copying its settings gives you a different photo entirely.

CameraAdapt translates instead of copying. Pick a reference photo, tell it what's in your bag, and get the aperture, shutter, ISO, focal length and white balance that land the same look on your gear — plus an editing recipe written for the app you actually edit in.

It is honest about the gap, too. When your lens can't reach the reference's f/1.4, it says so and tells you what to do instead: step closer, put more distance behind your subject, accept a little more grain.

• 100 reference photos across 10 moods — golden hour, blue hour, neon night, high noon, soft overcast, window light, low key, high key, film and hazy
• Every one carries its real camera metadata, so the numbers you start from are facts, not guesses
• 313 cameras and 62 phones (iPhone, Pixel and Galaxy), 259 lenses from kit zooms to fast primes, and a similar-camera option when yours isn't listed
• iPhone counts as a camera: which lens to use, how to bias exposure, when to use Portrait and Night mode, and which Photographic Style
• Editing recipes in Lightroom, Capture One, Photoshop, Affinity Photo, VSCO, Snapseed, Darkroom or Apple Photos, each in that app's own controls
• Export real preset files: .xmp for Lightroom and Camera Raw, .costyle for Capture One, and .cube LUTs for DaVinci Resolve, Premiere and Final Cut
• Upload your own reference photo and have it read the same way

Your first adapted look is free, in full. Anything new after that needs CameraAdapt Pro.

CameraAdapt Pro is $14.99/month or $49.99/year, each with a 3-day free trial. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. Subscription automatically renews unless cancelled 24hrs before your renewal date in the App Store.

### 2/5 — Subscription Required

Good idea but not being able to do anything without purchasing a fairly costly subscription really kind of kills it. Feel like that should be advertised.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4 — 2026-10-08

Your first look now opens full screen so you can take your time with your settings, recipe and colour grade. We've also added anonymous usage stats to improve the app — no photos, no personal info, no tracking.

### 1.3 — 2026-09-27

Your first result is free, in full. After the short setup, CameraAdapt adapts your first look for real and shows you all of it: your settings, the in-camera recipe, the colour grade and the preset files. It stays in My Looks whether or not you subscribe.

Starting a free trial now unlocks Pro straight away, and if the App Store is slow to confirm, a Restore button is right there. Plans show the exact price and trial for your Apple ID, and Profile has a Manage subscription link. If you said no to photo analysis once, the upload button now asks again instead of disappearing.

Over 260 more cameras and phones: Canon DSLRs and EOS M, Sony a7 and RX100, Nikon D-series, Fujifilm, Panasonic, Leica, Pentax and OM System, plus iPhone 12 onwards, Pixel 6 onwards and Galaxy S21 onwards. Search finds "canon 70d" or "a7iii" however you type it, and if your camera still isn't listed you can request it or carry on with a similar one. Photos taken on a phone now get the right depth of field, and Help & feedback in Profile lets you report a bug with a screenshot, ask for a feature or message the founder.

### 1.2 — 2026-09-21

Your camera's own recipe, a cleaner results page, and My Looks with pictures.

- In-camera recipes. For Fujifilm, Nikon, Canon and Sony, every adaptation now includes a recipe in your camera's own menu language: the closest Film Simulation, Picture Control, Picture Style or Creative Look, every setting in menu order, and where to save it. Set it once and your JPEGs carry the look. Save the recipe as a card or copy it as text.

- Results, reordered. Your settings come first, then how close the match is, then the recipe, the colour grade with its preset and LUT exports, and shooting tips last.

- My Looks shows the reference photo for every saved look, and a saved look opens as a full results page, even offline.

### 1.1 — 2026-09-18

Your first look is now adapted for real during setup, on the camera you actually own.

iPhone is a camera now. Pick your model and get which lens to use, how to bias exposure, when to use Portrait mode and Night mode, and which Photographic Style — plus an honest note when a phone can't reach the shot.

Edit recipes are rewritten for your camera and for the file you shoot. RAW and JPEG get different numbers, because they need different numbers.

Export real preset files: .xmp for Lightroom and Camera Raw, .costyle for Capture One, and .cube LUTs for DaVinci Resolve, Premiere and Final Cut.

Five more editing apps: Capture One, Photoshop, Affinity Photo, Snapseed and Darkroom.

Photo analysis now runs on OpenAI.
