See yourself the way the camera sees you.

Camera Monitor turns a second iPhone or iPad into a big live viewfinder for your iPhone camera. Put your phone on a tripod, walk into the frame, and watch yourself on the big screen — adjust your pose, framing and lighting without running back and forth.

HOW IT WORKS
• Open the app on two devices on the same Wi-Fi (or nearby — direct peer-to-peer works too)
• One device is the Camera, the other is the Monitor
• The live picture appears on the monitor in a fraction of a second

MADE FOR REAL SHOOTS
• Low-latency HEVC stream over your local network — no internet, no servers, no accounts
• Remote shutter: take photos right from the monitor
• Reference overlay: lay a photo over the frame and match a pose or a composition — move, zoom, rotate and mirror it, adjust opacity and contrast, or reduce it to outlines. It never appears in your photos
• Full-quality photos (HEIF up to 48 MP or Apple ProRAW where supported) saved to the camera device
• Real lens switching: 0.5x / 1x / 2x / telephoto buttons, exactly like the stock Camera
• Tap to focus, exposure adjustment, AE/AF lock
• Rule-of-thirds grid on both screens
• Several monitors can watch one camera at the same time

• Reference overlay. Lay a photo over the frame and match a pose or a composition against it. Drag to move it, pinch to zoom, twist to rotate, double tap to fit.
• Mirror a reference that faces the wrong way, and dial in opacity and contrast. Outline only reduces the picture to its edges when the shapes are all you need.
• The camera and the monitor each keep their own reference. It toggles off and on without losing its place, and it never appears in your photos.
• The connection-lost overlay no longer flickers when a monitor picks the stream back up.

### 1.1 — 2026-08-28

• A guided intro on first launch: what the app is for, how the two roles work together, and how to set a camera name and password.
• Connection approval. When a monitor connects, the camera device asks you first — see who it is and tap Allow or Deny. Nothing is streamed until you allow it.
• Frame shape. Pick 4:3, 16:9 or 1:1 and the viewfinder becomes that shape, so the camera and the monitor finally show the same rectangle.
• Self-timer of 3, 5 or 10 seconds. Start it from the camera or from any monitor — every screen counts down together, and the shutter fires at zero.
• A monitor that loses its camera now keeps looking for it and picks the stream back up on its own, and offers a clear way back to the camera list if it does not.
• A button that opens the stock Camera app through a Shortcut.
