For example, I have 2 kids and niece and nephew in camp. I was granted permissions to write emails to my niece/nephew, and view pictures they were tagged in. I can do all this in the website (although it’s very slow to load). But in the app, I can only email and see tagged pictures of MY kids. This is annoying for myself, as well as other friends/family members. The app is worthless for grandparents or anyone that is not a DIRECT parent. They would not have access to email or see tagged pictures. Please update the permissions/visibility to mimic the website! The photo notifications are one of my favorite features. There is nothing better than getting an alert and seeing a new picture pop up from camp. It gives parents a wonderful glimpse into their children’s day and helps us feel connected even when they are miles away. The app is easy to navigate, reliable, and makes viewing photos, checking updates, and accessing camp information simple and convenient. The facial recognition feature is especially impressive and saves so much time searching through thousands of camp photos. For camp families, Campanion adds an extra layer of excitement and reassurance throughout the summer. I don’t think I could’ve survived like my parents had to with no pictures and barely communication. That being said, it is extremely aggravating. It takes a few moments for the app to even open, it doesn’t refresh well, and the videos don’t load, if you want to skip ahead. The face recognition is pretty cool, but don’t rely on it! I would’ve missed so many photos of my daughter had I trusted the face recognition. So it’s a great app. It just needs work. It also won’t let me buy a season pass. Very frustrating. Extremely frustrated. I also feel as though the facial recognition quality has gone done. Last summer, the app could spot my child a mile away in the largest of crowds. This summer, I’m getting tagged in pics of other people’s kids, and many of my own kids’ photo appearances are missed — despite using the camera to take a photo of their faces head on or changing out their profile photos with other pics. Lately I’ve had to go to my kids’ camp website photo gallery and sift through the old way, and I really miss the convenience and functionality of the Campanion app. I hope the app will work better soon! ### 1/5 — Update fail *2024-08-11, version 3.2.3* I just updated the latest version of this app and now I cannot open it.
