### 2/5 — Trips default to public

*2026-08-14, version 4.4.0*

Pro version saved trips default to public, not private. If we trust our travel plans to any company, that data should be confidential by default. Delete buttons are there, but hard to find.

### 2/5 — No tent site filter

*2026-08-01, version 4.3.1*

They should not put tent camping in the title of the app if it doesn’t have a tent site filter. They only filter for RV sites. Otherwise it’s just dispersed camping options that could work for either. I was looking for an app that would integrate walk up sites and dispersed sites so that I can find the most convenient tent camping spot that is likely available. This app does not serve tent camping. That’s just an afterthought.

### 2/5 — New revised is not good

*2026-07-29, version 4.3.0*

Even AI suggests Allstays for Alaska since the last buyout. Search Tok. Not a thing while there are several paid campgrounds.
Campendium used to be my go to, I’m sad.

### 2/5 — Used to be good

*2026-07-21, version 4.3.0*

This was a great app until a couple months ago when they updated it. Now it’s pretty worthless.

### 2/5 — Major decline in usability

*2026-07-17, version 4.2.0*

We have been full timing for 7 years and used this app almost exclusively. It is no longer as good as it used to be. We had a paid subscription that will be terminated. The new app is worthless.

### 1/5 — Never was a member

*2026-07-08*

I was charged through Apple. I did not subscribe
Do not download this app they take your money without permission

**Developer response:** Hi Gatome! We're sorry you were charged without realizing it. If you were billed through Apple, that means you started a membership through our app via Apple. Please reach out to Apple directly to resolve the issue!

### 1/5 — What happened??

*2026-07-01, version 4.2.0*

How is copying a gps coordinate a premium feature? Useless.

### 1/5 — Now worthless

*2026-07-01, version 4.2.0*

This used to be the go to app, now it is basically useless. Cancelled my subscription.

### 1/5 — What Happened to the Best RV Source

*2026-06-29, version 4.2.0*

This used to be our go to for trip planning. Now, it is just not a good source at all. Your ability to search free over nights are gone! When you search an area and then come to the same search another time it is not the same. So disappointed.

### 2/5 — Performance on the new design

*2026-06-25, version 4.2.0*

It’s been a couple years since I’ve opened the app and recently I opened it and noticed the new design is noticeably less performant and slower to respond to taps and scrolls. The new map is also less easy to scan. I’m on a one year old iPhone pro.

### 1/5 — App freezes

*2026-06-25, version 4.2.0*

You cannot tap on the address anymore to link to any map anymore. This use to be really nice to use. Hopefully it gets improved.

### 1/5 — Was great

*2026-06-25, version 4.1.1*

I’ve used Campendium for years and it was phenomenal. After this latest update, it is basically useless.

### 1/5 — New UI is Terrible

*2026-06-24, version 4.1.1*

The new UI is absolute trash. You have to scroll down to just a few miles to see all the campgrounds and there is way too many clicks to clear campground info. This app used to be a great asset, now it’s just corporate garbage.

### 1/5 — Hate the new UI

*2026-06-22, version 4.1.1*

Bring back the old UI puhleaseeee 😭😭

### 1/5 — Fun while it lasted

*2026-06-21, version 4.1.0*

The app has been completely replaced. The reasons I paid for premium are no longer available so I just cancelled.

I’m not even sure how useful the app even is anymore. It won’t even let you copy the GPS coordinates. Presumably so they can lock you into their inferior navigation product instead. You have a use case for those coords outside of navigation? Too bad

### 2/5 — I used to loved this app

*2026-06-19, version 4.1.0*

I used to love this app to find camp spots. I was also just talking to my husband about how it would be nice if there was an app that gave you RV friendly routes with RV friendly gas stations. We are trying out the free trial currently and aren’t impressed with the fact you can’t find stops along the way while you’re in navigation. I also really dislike that they got rid of the filter on the map. It’s nice being able to change between dispersed camping, paid camping and dump stations, etc. I really dislike the new changes. They are not user friendly at all.

### 2/5 — Was Great, Now Meh

*2026-06-16, version 4.1.0*

This app used to be useful, now it provides a lot less information about campsites. I’m not going to renew.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Became a useless app

*2026-08-16, version 4.4.0*

You will recognize very fast this app is only about making money.
What a trash became this great app?!?!?!
The answers from campedium to reviews are BS!

### 1/5 — New version is useless

*2026-08-12, version 4.4.0*

As a full time rver I use to use this app all the time. Like most users I would type in a city or location and look for nearby spots to dump, camp, etc.. Now typing in a city brings up no results. Everything is pay to play. And I might be willing to pay if somehow this app was more useful than just searching on Google Maps.

### 1/5 — Used to be great now useless

*2026-08-07, version 4.4.0*

I used this app all the time to find dispersed campsites. This new version basically makes it impossible to use.
So clunky.

### 1/5 — Never was a member

*2026-07-30, version 4.3.0*

I was charged through Apple. I did not subscribe
Do not download this app they take your money without permission.. tried to get a resolution via email with this developer... just getting the run around

### 1/5 — Used to be great

*2026-07-29, version 4.3.0*

Used to be great. Now is worthless since the latest update

### 1/5 — New UI is bologna

*2026-07-20, version 4.3.0*

Please change it back. Used to love this app. Now is unusable.

### 1/5 — New version is trash

*2026-07-19, version 4.2.0*

You used to be able to look at a place on the map and tap through all levels of campsites (RV resorts, NFS, BLM, Dispersed etc) and see how long of a rig you could park there, see pics, reviews it was so helpful and amazing when exploring an area or traveling. Now it’s garbage and you might as well zoom in on Google Maps with nothing in the search bar. Don’t waste your time with this one.

### 1/5 — Performance on the new design

*2026-07-19, version 4.2.0*

It’s been a couple years since I’ve opened the app and recently I opened it and noticed the new design is noticeably less performant and slower to respond to taps and scrolls. The new map is also less easy to scan. I’m on a one year old iPhone pro.

Filtering is now gone. What happened to the app?

### 1/5 — Paywall everywhere

*2026-07-09, version 4.2.0*

The latest versions of the app have blocked all usability behind paywall screens. This previously was my favorite camping app, but their pay tier is simply too expensive for the features I want to use. If I wanted RV navigation, maybe the $59 would be worth it. So frustrating to see great apps get chewed up by corporate. I’m happy to pay something, just not what they are asking.

### 1/5 — Hate the new version

*2026-07-08, version 4.2.0*

I do not like this new version. It feels harder to use. Will be using my other apps . I was going to sign up for pro but if it’s hard to use why spend the money. So disappointing. I used to love it.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-08-04, version 4.3.1*

This is the only app we use and we travel 4 months every summer. It is awesome and always spot on

### 5/5 — Liz C very helpful

*2026-07-02, version 4.2.0*

I had some questions about how to navigate the APP. Liz was so helpful and patient. I really like the APP

### 5/5 — Great app and support

*2026-06-17, version 4.1.0*

We have used Campendium for about 6 years for all our RV trips. Information is usually correct and reviews of sites are very helpful. Just make sure to see when the review was posted. I also like that we can leave a review of the campground if it is different from what we read.

### 5/5 — update bugs

*2026-06-11, version 4.1.0*

i updated app and found that words were running off page. couldn't read it, reached out to campendium and Liz got back right away said they were aware of problem and would get back with me when they corrected it, in a few days she got back with me and all is well they did a fine job!
thank you for the support!

### 5/5 — Top boondocking app

*2026-06-07, version 4.0.1*

If you want to RV boondock, this is your app. Do not buy anything else.

### 5/5 — Excellent Service

*2026-06-02, version 4.0.1*

I had a problem with my subscription not showing up because I had signed up with Apple and used an alias email. When the Pro membership was recently updated to RV Pro, I couldn’t get in… I emailed customer service and provided my signup information and showed my receipt, and they had everything straightened out within 24 hours. Highly responsive, polite, and overall excellent customer service experience. And I love the app and its recent updates, too!

### 5/5 — Over night stay

*2026-05-19, version 3.9.2*

Loved this sight. We were the only ones here and we enjoyed the views of the water. We have a 21 ft travel trailer and it worked fine. It’s early spring and it had just rained so it was muggy and buggy. Other than that it was a great overnight, quiet and secluded.

### 5/5 — Easy Peasy

*2026-05-18, version 3.9.2*

Very clean and Big Rig friendly. Very easy to maneuver your RV. Potable water available. Donation box.

### 5/5 — Top 5 CG

*2026-04-17, version 3.9.2*

I don’t know where to start. Terrific park, amazing pool, grounds kept beautifully, Top shelf rental trailers, rental cabins and villas. Huge general store, giant arcade oh did I mention it literally steps to beach. We will be back for an extended stay next time.

### 5/5 — Love the app, Very useful

*2026-03-31*

Been using this app for years and I love it. I do use the paid version since I use this app or their website for almost every trailer road trip we make. It helps me look for pay or free camping wherever I travel in the US and Canada. It has the ability to sort easily on the map what is private, public, forest service, BLM land, etc. It is a user-based app, so I read through most of the reviews to filter out what is important to me. By reading through the reviews, not only do I find good places to camp, but sometimes things to see/visit that I wasn’t aware of or things to be aware of getting to or at the campground. It is important to note that if someone is driving a van or motorhome type vehicle and makes a suggestion about the length of trailer that may or may not fit . . . They could be wrong. One needs to know their rig and their own ability of navigation.
The developers of this app are also very responsive to any issues I might have with using the app or changes or updates I think feel need to be addressed regarding a location I have visited. I submit a request or suggestion and someone always gets back to me in a day or two.
The bottomline is that the app is a User based program and is only as good as the people using it provide the info needed to make it work and become better. Obviously, everyone has their own opinion of what is good or bad, or how they choose to camp which is why I read through the reviews to try to get a good sense of the location I’m interested in and what works for me.

**Developer response:** Wow, thank you so much for this incredibly thoughtful review! Hearing how you use the app — filtering by land type, digging into user reviews, discovering hidden gems along the way — is exactly what we built it for, and you clearly get the most out of it! You also made a really great point about knowing your own rig. That's such valuable advice for the whole community, and the kind of thoughtful, experienced perspective that makes our user reviews so much more useful for everyone. We're also thrilled to hear our support team has been responsive — we really do care about getting things right, and feedback from long-time users like you is a huge part of how we keep improving. Thank you for being such an amazing part of the Campendium community. Here's to many more adventures ahead!
