I have a super restrictive schedule and was able to set auto cart alerts for Yosemite during peak season and got in for 2 nights!!! Our family is so happy. I have been able to find almost impossible to find sites in Yellowstone and other parks. Plus, amazingly, the developer reached out to me to check in to see how my experience was going and made updates to Campsite Tonight to consider rig length. If there’s a Recreation(dot)gov park you want to go to, pay for the premium subscription, put your alerts in and wait for your campsites to be found. Just be ready to drop everything to complete your reservation when you get a text that your site is in your cart. The annual Campsite Tonight subscription is less than what you’ll spend on many regional private campgrounds for a single night, and super worth saving on not stressing out on getting in to the national parks you really want to visit. **Developer response:** Wow. Tried Campsite Tonight and we were able to get a nice spot exactly when we needed it. We had waited a few months but Mike Lee @ Campsite Tonight notified me as soon as it became available and we snagged it. The cancellation alerts for National Parks are clutch, you set it and forget it until a spot opens up. You can tell whoever made this actually uses it. Also like that it pulls availability from multiple places so you're not checking five different sites. **Developer response:** Thanks. I was even notified separately that a two-night minimum was required and thus booked for me. I had 15 minutes to complete the reservation transaction once notified. It’s so much less stressful with our alerts. ### 5/5 — Great tool to reserve high-demand locations! *2026-03-21* I started with the free version, then upgraded to premium once I understood how the app worked and how responsive the developer (Mike) is to every user who asks for help. The app is very easy to use. In my case, I was able to reserve a high-demand Southern California site. Then, unfortunately I had to cancel due to a family conflict. However, I was able to reserve the same campsite the following weekend. Without this app, I would not have been able to book my desired camping trip for six months. This single weekend trip made the premium version worth it. I plan to use the app a lot more in the future. I was able to get a last minute reservation in Yosemite when everything is way overbooked out. So awesome!! Put the campsite right in my cart before anyone else could take it and alerted me to check out. Who has time to check recs.gov every minute ? Not me. Highly recommend this appt! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Disappointed *2026-03-23* I have created multiple alerts and add to carts. It sends me an email and within 1 minute I have been able to click on the link and then go to my cart… nothing is there it did not auto add and I lost a few spots I was hoping to get. This isn’t a magic tool, and definitely not worth the $50 price tag. In fact I used the ad TJ cart feature but also tried to do it manually when the spots became available and o got it and my app did not. So it was no better… **Developer response:** Oh that’s a shame. Mike ### 1/5 — Not that good *2026-03-15* You can only do three add to cart alerts maximum. You can’t just add a park and select alerts for multiple campgrounds within that park. You have to do a separate and search alert for each campground. You always have to do that search on the map thing even when you actually know the name of the park and/pr campground. Apparently you can only set 10 availability alerts too. And when I go to cancel my subscription the cancellation confirmation button is blocked by the keyboard and I cannot select it. **Developer response:** That last thing sounds like a bug. When I try to log into my rec.gov login it tells me login failed, even though my login and password is. I received multiple notifications from other apps of campsite availability and this app not only didn’t notify me, it didn’t add to my cart as advertised. Today I got a push notification that ‘Campsite Tonight will shut down’ unless I give a review to keep the developer building. Would hope the 60 dollars took care of my end already but here you go… 18 hours and no sites booked. App looks clean and well built, but again, no real success from it yet in terms of results promised. Many people don’t even try because of what they hear. I signed up for campsite tonight on August 1st and by August 11th I got my campsite in September for 2 nights! Selfishly I don’t want anyone else to use this but I wanted to share my experience to support the developers. **Developer response:** Thank you for your support on the review! Even bought the annual membership because its is that much worth it to me because we like to camp as much as we can. The add to cart feature, alerts via text, notif, and/or email, and the chrome extension give this app an edge and have been able to help me land actual reservations with all the competition out there. Over the past year since they changed their website it has become increasingly more difficult to secure sites. This app has helped me secure incredibly competitive spots, like Doheny, Refugio, and Yosemite. I am very pleased with the developers response time and the user interface is super easy to use. Anyone who lives in CA knows that getting a campsite—never mind at popular, beloved campgrounds—is cutthroat! Setting alarms for 8am six months out only to see every site booked before 8:01am. This app has changed all that for me and my family. I’ve been able to book five different camping trips over the past year, at destinations that showed zero available sites because of Campsite Tonight. I’ve got two young kids who LOVE to camp (about to take the older one on her first backpacking trip) and I credit this app with having made it possible for us to get out as often (and as memorably) as we have.
