This website, unlike that of the Globe and Mail, does not appear to be organized in any meaningful way. It runs off in all directions and suffers from being cluttered. The news is presented on several different pages of our receiving tech equipment. I have been tempted on several occasions to cancel the service and still may do so.

Je suis déçue de cette application. On nous impose à pleine page de la publicité non sollicitée, vulgaire et avec le son à tue-tête, de façon à être bien certain qu’on ne la ratera pas. Ai-je envie de voir des filles en bikini qui dansent sur une plage?  Au cas où vous ne le sauriez pas, on est en 2022, et cette façon de faire est sexiste et dépassée.

I realize this app is free but loading stories is sooooo slow usually because the size of the ads are huge and take forever to load or the news story jumps around as the ads load - very frustrating!

Good news delivery but I wish you  could delete those papers that won’t let you into items after you have reached your quota.  (Toronto Star and Sun).

Trying to read the news on an iPhone is nearly impossible. You can get through a paragraph or two, then it changes ads causing the text to fluctuate wildly. I don’t know why it needs to change ads every 30 seconds or so in articles. I understand why ads are needed but with how absurdly they are run, it does nothing more than drive people away from the app.

*Update. 
This really wasn’t a fair review. The ads were in the newspaper themselves and not from the app. App is good but be prepared for some newspapers to absolutely bombard you with advertising.

Banner ads at the bottom of the screen are OK.  Full screen ads with a countdown timer preventing removal are a major annoyance. News feeds demanding I become a subscriber in order to read the article, are the straw that broke this camels back.  I have deleted the app.

The very intrusive ads make this app difficult to use. I have to shut the app down and restart it every time those ridiculous pop ups take over the screen. Sometimes I just dont bother coming back.

This is a great app for catching up with Canadian news, but the constantly refreshing ads that bump the text up and down are aggravating. I’m always trying to find place again

Good luck finding free news with this app.  Every publication you click is greyed out, I’d say over 97% of the news is not free.  Very disappointing and the ads are intrusive and have a wait time.  

When an ugly ad pops up I just shut down the app completely.

So you’re reading along and you respect that every now and then you’ll be accosted by an ad. The fair price for a free app, right?

But for an app dedicated to *reading*, it is not expected nor acceptable that such an ad would suddenly start talking to you. Glad this didn’t happen while I was in a quiet waiting room or some other awkward situation.

Otherwise, a great app. But it deserves one star because this is a dealbreaker. I’ve already deleted the app.

I was looking for more publishers to add to my home page when I came across Canada free press. Wow! The untrue crap that was coming from it! Covid fake! Masks harmful! What the heck? I thought this was a serious news app. I can't support this app if it publishes this harmful untrue material. People die from it! I really liked it for Victoria, BC news and am really, really disappointed in you.

For my purposes this app works well. I can scan a variety of sources and articles without being overwhelmed by piles of thick papers and can read about the same event from different sources without being locked into one subscription.
