Canara Bank launches “Canara ai1” Mobile Banking Super App with more than 250 features integrated with the futuristic vision of “One Bank, One App”.  

An intuitive app with enhanced User Interface & User Experience, “Canara ai1” Mobile Banking Super App offers a host of customer centric functionalities such as multi-mode funds transfer viz. UPI, RTGS,NEFT & IMPS, Fixed and Recurring Deposit opening, Fastag Recharge, Pay EMI / loans, scheduled payments, Nomination, Integrated Bill Pay, Integrated UPI etc., as additional features.

The app gives unique experience by providing option to customize the dashboard and choose the application theme of user choice (light/dark). App also features SCAN & PAY facility in the pre login screen.

Steps to install:

1. Install Canara ai1 mobile app.
2. After successful installation open app by clicking new Canara ai1 icon.
3. Click on next button to continue after selecting the SIM having Registered Mobile Number with the Bank.  SMS will be initiated from the selected SIM; Ensure balance is available to send the SMS successfully.
4. After successful Mobile Number validation, an OTP will be sent to your Registered Mobile Number. 
5. Enter the OTP received and continue.
6. You will be redirected to create and confirm your 5 digits numeric PASSCODE for login to the application.
7. Accept the Terms & Conditions after successfully creating the PASSCODE.
8. Grant the permissions requested during the registration process to access all application features.
9. Before initiating any mobile Banking transactions, you need to create and confirm new 6 digits numeric MPIN for authenticating transactions.
10. Click on ‘SET NOW’ to activate your Mobile Banking facility using active debit card details/activation code (Visit home branch for generating the activation code).

After the last update it scanned all the apps on my phone without my permission and is asking me to uninstall an app that I use daily for work. 

If the app can scan my phone without my permission, what else will it do?  

Uninstalling it now.

Not a single task can be successfully completed in first attempt.  Always some glitch causes the task to fail.  Without trying multiple times it is impossible to transact in a single instance.  Further, the short time (30secs) given for entering OTP that is sent to mobile and email makes it really difficult to get access to the feature one is trying to get to.  This is because of the long lag time for the OTP to show up in the email.

I had an urgent medical/financial requirement and needed to transfer money from my Canara Bank account to an SBI account. After adding the beneficiary, the app restricted me with a mandatory 1-hour cooling period and limited the transfer to just ₹50,000 for the first 12 hours!

Security is important, but restricting access to our own funds when urgent transfers are needed completely defeats the purpose of mobile banking. Why isn't there an instant OTP or Biometric verification bypass for emergency transfers? The UI and server response are already laggy, and policies like this make the app totally useless when time is critical. Highly disappointed. Need immediate improvements in beneficiary limits and instant approval options!

Horrible app. The number of things you have to do to logon, set multiple pins and passwords and access your account is insane. None of it actually keeps you any safer it just creates more headaches.  The only thing worse than the app is the desktop version which is COMPLETELY different. I have never seen apps that are designed ao poorly.

Frequent unnecessary updates each time requiring SMS based authentication from the mobile which never work in one go. What exactly are you achieving with this, I have accounts with multiple other international banks and no one ever forces a SMS based setup each time.
