I’m so, SO disappointed. I used to be able to use stickers and have all the filters available to me. I used their filters on ALL my pictures. We know many long-time users like you loved having full access to all the stickers and filters for free, and it must have felt frustrating to suddenly find some of them behind Premium. We introduced AI features because we believe they can make photo editing much more powerful and fun — things like smart sticker suggestions, advanced background removal, intelligent beautification, and creative new effects that users have been asking for. Running high-quality AI requires significant resources, so we made the decision to move some of our more advanced filters and effects to Premium to help fund ongoing development and keep improving the app. That said, we completely understand why this change feels disappointing, especially if you were using our filters on all your pictures. We’re actively working on adding more value for free users as well, and feedback like yours helps guide those improvements. I used to take every selfie with these filters. They had the cutest stickers too! Overtime they added ads, which I understand. Seeing an ad in exchange for a new filter for a day seemed like a decent deal. But then came the ai and now they made PREVIOUSLY FREE FILTERS into PAY TO USE? Now they have a YEARLY MONTHLY WEEKLY PLAN? And to kill it off, I tried to use it today to find out that even the ORIGINAL non filtered option is a pay feature. The absolute greed. We’ve been working hard to keep Candy Cam sustainable while still delivering new filters and features, but we clearly missed the mark on how those changes felt for users who prefer the free version. Your suggestion to make the app premium-only (no freemium model at all) is actually really interesting and we’re actively discussing it internally. We want Candy Cam to feel fun and easy again, not pushy. In the meantime, you can always try 1-week free trial of Premium with no commitment — full access, cancel anytime.
