## What is Cane App?

Cane allows you to pull up past hurricanes and replay them in animated reproductions of the storm. This app gives you options unlike any other tracker out there! The 2 most incredible features that Cane provides are:
1) The ability to pull up past storms side by side with other storms
2) The ability to fly through a hurricane in an animation as if you were flying in an airplane along the actual hurricane path. This animation is so stunning that it has to be seen to be believed!

Cane leverages all of the data available from the National Hurricane Center (NHC), International Best Track Archive for Climate Stewardship (IBTrACS) and other sources to give you as much information as possible at your fingertips. Cane keeps you up-to-date with the latest information on active hurricanes from the NHC. Cane gives you the full history of each storm, along with its current details and projected track.

## Key features

- Replay past hurricanes in animated reproductions
- Compare multiple storms side-by-side
- Fly through hurricane paths in 3D animation
- Access data from National Hurricane Center

### 2/5 — It doesn’t work

*2025-08-31*

I keep trying to search for hurricanes but when I search it, the one I searched up never comes up.

### 5/5 — Excellent information

*2024-11-19*

Great

### 4/5 — Excellent Weather app but no way to request support

*2024-07-27*

This is a useful app for following hurricanes and Typhoons. The graphics are superb, especially those available through the modestly priced subscription.

One complaint complaint is that there is no way to lock the globe to the Atlantic Ocean. When you open the app the default view is Central Asia.

My second complaint is that the app support page has no way to contact the author. There is neither a form nor an email. The link that would provide more details about the app is broken. The example given on the developer’s website discusses comparing Hurricane Katrina with Super Storm Sandy. Unfortunately I have not found a way to add them to the display.

Third, there’s older storms can’t be displayed. This is especially true of any storm without a modern name. Hurricanes prior to the Cold War were titled by the year and major location such as Galveston, TX 1900 or Labor Day Storm 1935. The author has promised more storms will be added but did not indicate when.

All of these problems are small and don’t diminish the app’s functionality. I’m sure they will be fixed quickly. I definitely recommend this app to anyone of any age as entertaining when no storms are present and useful when they are.

### 1/5 — This app does NOT WORK

*2023-07-22*

This app does not work. You put in the information and it does NOTHING. It follows it’s own or the developers path and where they are most interested and care about. It does NONE of what they describe.
