This causes confusion and can ruin your canning because you no longer know how far you are in the pressure cooking process. Once the timer stops you can’t just start again from where you are. You have to start the whole process from the beginning. This could ruin your food preservation. The app has the potential to be very helpful and useful but until the bugs are worked out it could cost you ruined food. ### 4/5 — Almost the best! *2024-11-03* I really wish this would find a way to stay open in the background with timers as I’m often using my phone to double check the recipes I’ve bookmarked from safe/reputable canning websites. Otherwise I think this is a great addition for the new and experienced canner! Thanks- from a fellow master food preserver! ### 1/5 — There are a few things missing…. *2023-05-20* For one I will say that this is a very good app because it seems to be the ONLY app. There are a few things that I REALLY think would make it that much better. For one it does not specify how much head space these items needs. Also there is a VERY LIMITED selection and zero availability to add to the selection. There is also no search availability. There could be also be a tutorial on what a weighted gauge looks like when it is at its optimal pressure. I seldom remember from one summer to the next if it’s 10 or 15 pounds of pressure, etc for which items. This app just walks me right through the process. Certain items require 90 min in the pressure canner & the app says 75. Also need to update food choices. Instead of having to use checklists and iPhone timers, it’s all in one and is such a time saver when you’re busy doing this hectic thing we call canning. Go Beavs! ### 3/5 — Not very useful *2022-08-27* This app may be useful for new canners. I like the step-by-step checklist to help complete the canning process. There are just a couple of reasons why the app doesn’t work for me. 1. I can’t preview the whole process from start to finish. I won’t know how long it takes to can a specific food until I’ve begun the canning process, including waiting through the venting timer. 2. Every time I leave the app (to check a recipe or answer a phone call, for instance) the app resets and I have to repeat all the steps I’ve already done, including waiting through another timer. There is no way to skip past completed parts. These issues make the app more frustrating than useful for me. ### 5/5 — Illegal guardianship to defy all religious beliefs and freedoms *2022-01-20, version 2.0.2* Even if I try to enjoy this new hobby and app my “mother” unable to literally steal my soul from me with my “family” and Co THEY WILL LITERALLY JUST DO ANYTHING TO MAKE IT UNHEALTHY TO EAT WOULD LITERALLY INSTEAD BECOME UNSAFE TO CONSIDER BEING EATABLE……. ### 3/5 — Lacking elevation information *2020-10-20* I live at 8300 ft. The app only goes up to 8000 ft. So it’s not useful to me. Canning at this altitude is doable. Definitely a miss. Otherwise it looks like it would be useful if you live under 8000 ft.
