It gets stuck loading every one or two videos and I have to restart my tv over and over again to continue watching things. I understand they don’t have as much money for stuff like this as big brands, but man using this on a smart tv is a headache. This app has a great selection of audio books, podcasts, and videos. But it doesn’t end there. Courses, classics, and documentaries are the icing on the cake. It’s great to be able to learn while I’m working, doing projects or completing chores. Highly recommended! ### 5/5 — Content Rich Christian App that Everyone Needs *2023-12-09* The Canon+ app pours forth top-notch audio and video content that cannot be beat. This includes topics like theology, Christian living, education, entertainment, history, and news commentary in the form of videos, podcasts, audiobooks, and sermons. There is so much new content being added every week that it would be impossible to go through all of it. I have been using Canon+ for about nine months now, and it is by far my most used app. I have reaped huge benefits in the effect it has had on my life and family. With so much great content I would like to see the app get some new clothes that better fit after it’s growth spurts (I.e. improvements). The search feature could use some improvements so that one could search by title, description, author, or a combination of those. Goodness, someone could easily get lost in there without dropping a trail of breadcrumbs! Along similar lines the home page needs to be revamped some with a menu bar to find common categories. If I want to see content from the biggest contributors then I have to scroll way down to find the likes of Doug Wilson, Jared Longshore, Voddie Baucham, and such. Those guys are gutting tired of holding all that weight! To those on the fence just try it for a month and see what you think. And I mean ACTUALLY USE IT. Don’t just let it sit idle and wonder why you are getting charges from Apple two months later. When you do let me point you to some of the shining gems that you don’t want to miss: Blog and Mablog, It’s Good to Be a Man, Stories are Soul Food, Notes from the Tilt-A-Whirl, Man Rampant, Future Men, and the ever whitty Wade Show with Wade. If you like fiction then you must listen to The Green Ember series. Sure it’s children’s fiction with bunnies but S.D. Smith does a marvelous job with it and the narration is superb. I could say much more but, why are you still reading this? In an attempt to save some money I subscribed to the annual option. That was a month and a half ago, I’ve never been able to use it again. Icons are locked and I’m unable to access material. But the app itself stinks. It constantly loses your spot in audiobooks when you go back to continue listening! That is a very significant Achilles heel. For an app that costs as much as this does every month it really ought to work properly. By the time I finally find my spot I am at work, and then have to re-find my spot on the drive home. Didn't matter when I had unlimited data, but offline listening (especially for a paid subscription) is a must. ### 3/5 — Content:great, App:meh *2021-10-31* Just as the other reviewers say, you’re downloading this because the content is really encouraging and Biblical, but you may find the app dissatisfying. I am a subscriber, and wish I could recommend the app more than 3-stars worth. I’ve emailed the developer multiple times to try and solve the doesn’t-keep-it’s-place-in-books issues, reinstalled the app, etc. If you are considering this as an audiobook source you need to know that you will be frustrated. Videos, podcasts and other non-book stuff will work, it just will not keep your place in a book so you can pick up where you left off. I’m a little surprised that Canon Press isn’t addressing the issue, or at least telling subscribers that they’re working on it. They are constantly releasing new content and books. They just added a bunch of the commentaries from RC Sproul which I am excited to get into, and there’s plenty of older stuff I still haven’t read. So much content from a ministry I have been so thankful for, all in one place.
