YOUR DAY, READ BY THE SKY
Each morning, Canopy tells you the planetary hour (sa'at al-kawakib) ruling the moment and the lunar mansion (manzil) the Moon has entered. These are not ornaments. They are the core instruments of a tradition codified by al-Biruni in the eleventh century, and they change your day in concrete, legible ways. Planetary hours follow the ancient order — Sun, Venus, Mercury, Moon, Saturn, Jupiter, Mars — cycling through every hour of day and night, each with its own counsel.

Your birth chart is calculated using the techniques of traditional Arabian astrology — essential dignities, whole-sign houses, the Arabic lots, and the Thema Mundi as the foundational reference chart. Every placement carries a personalized reading that resonates with your core. 

ELECTIONAL TIMING (IKHTIYARAT)
The medieval court astrologers were asked one question above all others: when is the right moment to act? Canopy's elections feature answers it — scanning the sky for windows favorable to your intention, whether a contract, a journey, a marriage, or any beginning. The technique is ikhtiyarat, practiced without interruption since the ninth century.

TALISMANIC TIMING
The fixed stars held a special place in the tradition. Canopy's talisman feature identifies windows when a star of significance rises or culminates, following the methods of the Picatrix and al-Sufi's Book of Fixed Stars, among others, so that your timing aligns with the sky's deepest architecture.

THE 28 LUNAR MANSIONS (MANAZIL)

I like the descriptions as they are accurate though they are pretty short, it’d be nice if they were longer. Also the app takes a minute to load and is a bit glitchy at times but that could just be my phone as the storage is pretty filled. Overall nice design and good accurate information.

This is simply the best thing out there. I was so excited when I saw the Lots on here! I haven’t studied all the source texts on the Lots myself so having them explained IN-APP is fantastic. The idea for the app is great but it doesn’t work. It can’t get the rising sign correctly and the elections are positively dangerous.

**Developer response:** Thank you for leaving this review. It appears you are referencing two launch day bugs, each having been corrected within 24 hours of learning of them. 

The rising sign calculation issue occurred due to a bug impacting local -> UTC -> local timezone conversions, which impacted specific timezones only. 

The elections screening issue occurred due to a bug that was allowing negatively scored (blacklisted elections) to be returned to the user. This has also been corrected and a larger scoped improvement will be in the next app update. 

You are encouraged to please contact developer support either through the convenient option located within the app under Settings -> Submit Support Request or through the email provided if you encounter issues, should you choose to use this app in the future.
