### 5/5 — Good resource

*2016-06-21, version 5.2.1*

Have used spanish and mandarin chinese sections while at clinics. Can confirm that both are well translated and the speaking pronunciation is good too, more on the formal side

### 5/5 — Great!

*2016-06-01, version 5.2.1*

Such a great tool as a physician assistant student in a mainly Spanish speaking OBGYN office!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2016-05-31, version 5.2.1*

App works great. Helps out a lot with translating different phrases in medicine

### 5/5 — Great communication tool for routine interactions

*2015-10-27, version 4.0.1*

Saves time and cost of finding in-person interpreter for common, routine patient interactions

### 5/5 — Seems pretty great so far :)

*2014-11-23, version 2.6.4*

UI flows nicely.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2014-09-27, version 2.5.0*

Easy to us. Good for quickly communicating with patients who do not speak English.

### 5/5 — PERFECT FOR AN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT

*2014-09-21, version 2.4.0*

This app is the best medical app ever, it has everything a Dr needs to take basic information about the patient current status. This can really help save some ones life!

### 5/5 — A**

*2014-09-07, version 2.3.0*

Very handy app for those patients who don't speak english at all plus helps us get an accurate history and puts the patient at ease!
I've been showing it to my patients just to spread the word among other doctors of their!! My patients love it!

### 5/5 — essential tool

*2014-08-16, version 2.1.0*

this is an incredibly smooth, simple to use, and fast software with no gimmicks and no costs. it simply provides over a dozen languages across multiple specialties (IM, EM, OB/GYN, etc.) in a simple easy to use format. You can play the translations or read them yourself for practice. I find it essential since I am down in Miami, Florida where Spanish, Haitian Creole and Russian are mainstays in the hospitals here.

### 5/5 — Great resource

*2014-04-21, version 1.5*

Great and awesome resource for medical professionals. Would like to see French and Swahili added in the future!! Thank you!

### 5/5 — A really nice medical language app

*2014-04-08, version 1.4*

This app is really easy to use. The common phrases are really nice as well as the ability to play the phrase for the patient instead of butchering the pronunciation. The ability to directly call my hospital's language line is another plus. The app is great when you need to talk to a patient and can't find the the interpreter phone on the floor. I highly recommend trying out this app.

### 5/5 — Great translator app

*2014-03-29, version 1.2*

Easy to navigate. Pertinent questions and format. User friendly. Amazing how many languages are available for use.

### 5/5 — Amazing Clinical Tool

*2014-03-28, version 1.2*

It can sometimes be frustrating communicating with patients with limited English-speaking ability as are interpreters are not available around the clock. This app is an excellent tool to aid communication in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. It contains all the relevant phrases for initial history-taking, as well as follow up and reassessment and discharge. I have been able to use this app for Spanish-speaking patients without an interpreter present - the experiences have been seamless and the information obtained and conveyed complete.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Loggin problems

*2014-07-16, version 1.7.1*

This might be a useful app, but it request you log-in and I've been sending requests for the past 3 days with no assistance.

### 1/5 — Useless， waste of time

*2014-06-17, version 1.7*

This app sounds good but actually useless. It can not recognizing voice but just for doctor to find a medical question and translate into other language. Why does not it integrate with Siri?

### 2/5 — Keeps crashing

*2015-03-05, version 3.0.0*

What's the point of having it on your finger when it doesn't open?

### 4/5 — Nursing please?

*2020-01-18, version 6.0.0*

I love this app so far. I only wish that it had a section or playlist with more nursing-centric phrases. We talk to your patients more than you do!

### 4/5 — Fantastic!

*2018-08-20, version 6.0.0*

Good translation resources are hard to find for multiple languages that are also accessible to students. Canopy helps me describe procedures to patients in languages I don’t know or do even do know but with which I am not familiar with medical terminology.

Next step for improvement would be a list of questions, much like an intake form that you could click through instead of having to go to each section separately.

### 4/5 — Great app when it works

*2015-03-14, version 3.0.0*

I really enjoy using this app to supplement my Spanish vocabulary and semantics when talking to patients. However, I have had a lot of trouble with it shutting down as soon as I open the app. Please fix this!!! I have a Spanish-speaking patient now in the hospital, and I could really use the help of the Canopy app. Thanks!

### 4/5 — Useful!

*2015-02-03, version 2.7.1*

I haven't yet needed to use the app in a real-world situation but did witness it's use the other day. Someone came into the ED and neither he nor his companions spoke more than a few words of English. The interpreter phone wasn't working and a hospital interpreter couldn't be there for another hour. And yes, this was an emergent situation. The resident pulled out Canopy and was able to get the information she needed to make the correct diagnosis.

I believe in this case the diagnosis could have been made without the app but it would have taken more and and more tests. Canopy helped direct the exam and got treatment started more quickly.

### 4/5 — Really helpful for non English patients

*2014-03-19, version 1.1*

Very useful for rounds and procedures. I have lots of non English speaking patient at my hospital and using this is much easier and better than the interpreter phone. Also can call our hospitals interpreters from the app, there's a directory of hospital interpreter phone numbers in the app!

### 5/5 — Registration works now

*2018-07-26, version 6.0.0*

Everything seems to be in working order. Great app. Highly recommended to all medical personales

### 5/5 — Great!

*2017-09-08, version 6.0.0*

Easy to use!

## Most praised reviews (8 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Awesome

Family medicine doctor here... This app is amazing

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2017-06-08, version 6.0.0*

For quick postop checks and clinic visits.

### 5/5 — Great language app

*2017-04-02, version 6.0.0*

As a Medical student this has been an amazing resource. I started using it as a Tech on a surgical unit, but found it even more useful when asking complex questions in other languages. The app has superior organization of languages, specialties, and topics. I feel it has definitely improved my patient care for patients with limited English proficiency.

### 5/5 — Incredible resource

*2017-03-07, version 6.0.0*

Thank you Canopy creators for providing a comprehensive and truly useful resource for health care providers to communicate with many different patients in so many scenarios. Much appreciated for its scope and quality, and no obtrusive ads! This is an amazing and free public health resource. Please keep up all you're doing!

### 5/5 — This app is amazing

*2017-01-25, version 6.0.0*

I'm a medical student and have been using this app for the last 7 months. It has been such a blessing both for me and for my team when there simply no time or when its inconvenient to find the translator phone.

The user interface is easy to use and its a great way to teach myself medically relevant and correct words.

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2016-10-17, version 6.0.0*

Sometimes the translator phone is broken or too far away and you and a patient need to communicate something right away. In those situations, this probably helps reduce healthcare disparities for non English speaking patients. It is especially great for asking someone to take a deep breath as they are waking up from anesthesia!

### 5/5 — ER

*2016-08-06, version 5.2.1*

Helps a lot with ER nursing

### 5/5 — Best medical translator

*2016-08-05, version 5.2.1*

This is, by far, the best free medical translator app I've seen. Keep up the good work.
