The Cantonese people in the Mainland, Malaysia and Singapore speak & write Simplified: this is the common language in these regions (traditional is usually used exclusively, in documents, in businesses and to impress). I can’t tell if this app is teaching, simplified or traditional Chinese (Cantonese). So I can’t use it until I know which is being taught. It doesn’t do that though, they say the word and then they say the next word and then they let you record so you’re trying to keep it in your mind the word or phrase you need to record while they’re saying the next word throwing your concentration off then you record while they’re getting ready to go to the next word, and then you record while they’re saying the next word and you never get to hear both side by side.
