It freezes when attempting to scroll in a class to check grades/assignments due. It then kicks you out. I have to wait 30 seconds before getting back in to try to look in another class. ### 2/5 — It’s ok when it works. *2026-03-02, version 3.27.0* Good idea just crashes every time I’m trying to look at my kids assignments. So I’m constantly closing and opening the app to see what they are missing. I am having such a hard time maneuvering the system. As an adult student with Canvas I find the parent canvas app really hard to manage. I get some if my personal college emails mixed with my parent canvas. It is all a big mess. My child’s teacher wasn’t much help. I hope that your company can educate teacher in this system it atorado have an IT set up for each class incase parents have issues. ### 5/5 — Problem with the recent app update *2021-12-08, version 3.5.1* With the recent app update the total grade for the course no longer shows on the main screen under each student. The only way to see the grade is to go into each individual course. Data isn’t crossing over to the main home screen to show the total grade for the course. I am hoping this gets fixed soon so I can still keep an eye on my kid assignments and talk with the teachers on here about the homework. ### 5/5 — More confusing than clarifying *2020-11-13* The app appears to allow the content provider (teachers) to include so little information in a post that it generates more questions than answers. Sometimes there is only a title with no content. Often, a message is “scheduled “ for a future date while another message, with conflicting information, precedes it. Also, messages meant for as few as one student are sent to many end users, causing students and parents to respond via other channels (email) trying to clarify if the message actually applies to them. I realize these problems are mostly due to how the user is creating the message, but the app needs some rules implemented to force correct usage. In addition, significantly deeper training is needed for message creators (teachers) on how to generate content that is clear, correct, timely and applies to all that receive it. ### 5/5 — Love! Is it possible the check on bug fixes? *2020-10-19, version 3.3.1* I LOVE this app. I have two children that use Canvas for virtual learning with their school. And although this doesn’t have 110% every the Canvas website does, it’s so close and so very convenient! I find myself using it much more than the website. But as of the past couple of days, I haven’t been able to see my children’s school assignment calendars, nor can they. We know when they’re due because the school sends the students and parents lists to check on weekly. But they love following their pace track in Canvas. And seeing it cross off as they go. As do I! Is it possible there’s a bug fix in the works? Or is it just me? Lol! Great app and platform! Thank you so much! ### 5/5 — Couple improvements I’d like to see *2020-10-06* I like being able to see the percent of completed work, things that are missing and no longer available to work on, etc.. However, I feel this is a very generic form to keep parents connected. Our teachers are doing a fantastic job connecting via remind but Canvas could be improved for more clarity. I would really like to be able to see what was turned in. For instance, if they were in person he’d bring home his completed, graded work with notes from the teacher. I would have a better idea of what he should work on. It would also be helpful to have a description of what’s expected. ### 5/5 — Canvas *2020-09-18* Great app overall. These are the things I’ve noticed thus far and I hope this feedback is helpful. Some courses show in ascending order and some show in descending order by way of the date. It would be nice to see that each course only went one way or the other for searching purposes. Auto checks on the side of each finished assignment would be nice as well. Status seems to auto change to viewed on some if not most assignments but once data or uploads were entered by the student if that initiated an auto checking system I think both students and parents might find that helpful. I’m sure a lot goes into programming as it is and I just wanted to share what I felt is an honest review. The parent side of the app I overall find as being very user friendly and enjoy being able to simply send a quick message to the teachers as opposed to searching down specific emails.
