I purchased music from my iTunes account right after I saw “pending” for the Cape Cod Times renewal and they downloaded right away. So either the Cape Cod Times or Apple is responsible. ### 3/5 — Cape Cod Times *2026-05-02, version 8.9.0* Pop up ads interrupt reading Pages difficult to manage ### 4/5 — It’s ok *2026-01-10, version 8.6.0* It’s ok but many times, some, not all, but some of the news on the front page and second page is news from THREE days ago. Old news. I think If I use the “browsing” button, I can see and read the paper more easily. The old one allowed seamless scrolling and zooming and had clear type. The new one has jumbled type, constantly bounces you out to the non-replica edition, and is generally an early morning exercise in aggravation. Sports is big in our house, entertainment is important for the adults, and everyone likes to eat good food so we like the section too! Serious news covered very well as is a fine editorial section. At some point the pop up advertisements started to appear which was tolerable but annoying. The jumping around inadvertently however while trying to navigate stories is beyond annoying, just make it read like a paper and turn off all the bells & whistles for a better experience. It’s impossible to keep up with all the issues without local expertise. ### 2/5 — Check your credit card statements. *2024-10-22, version 7.13.0* They make it very difficult to manage the paid subscription which is not showing up in my Apple subscriptions nor can I find any info of how much I’m paying for the subscription in the app. There is a phone number that says that I’m calling outside their 8am-9pm business hours when I’m calling at 4pm. Seems dubious and unethical billing practices. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Worst app *2026-02-27, version 8.8.1* The app is only showing one story and all Taboola ads. The Cape Cod Times help desk said they cannot help, since the subscription is thru iTunes. iTunes said they just sell the subscription and the problem is with the App and only the Times can fix it.
