## What is CapForge?

If you play fantasy football, you already know the good part. Draft day. Arguing about a guy nobody else rates. Being right about him in November.

This is that, except he's actually yours. You don't rent him for a season and hand him back. You draft him, you handle his contracts, you extend him or you let him walk, and a decade later he's either going into the Hall of Fame with your name on the pick or he's the contract still eating your cap three years after you cut him.

You're the general manager. Not the coach, not a player on the field. One of 32 clubs, and you build the roster, sign the deals, hire the staff, and then you live with all of it.

The cap is the actual opponent. Cut a guy and what you still owe him follows you, though only what's genuinely left, since the seasons he played absorbed the money you already paid. You can guarantee money, restructure a deal, tag somebody, hand out a no-trade clause, and every one of those is still there in year three when the plan has changed and you'd rather it wasn't.

The rest of the league won't help you fix it. Rival GMs price the contract instead of the rating, so an overpaid star is as much of a liability to them as he is to you, and a deal that doesn't fit under their cap doesn't happen. They'll tell you no, and they'll be right to.

The year runs in a fixed order. Re-signings, cuts, the franchise tag, then free agency in three waves with a sealed-bid auction at the end, so you find out how the first wave shook out while you're already standing in the second. Then the draft, the season, the playoffs, the awards and the retirements, and you roll it over with last year's bill still on your books.

The draft class runs 480 deep and seven rounds take only 224, so most of a class walks into free agency instead of onto a roster. Mock boards land in your inbox through the season. Your guy's in there somewhere.

This rewards caring about the small stuff. 78 stats are tracked for every player across 15 positions, and that includes the ones nobody puts on a highlight reel: pressures charged to the lineman who actually got beaten, snap by snap run blocking, targets and yards allowed on the corner covering them. Your left tackle isn't a 79. He's a guy giving up pressure at a rate you can watch get worse months before anything else notices. And when a number moves, an in-app guide of 49 topics tells you why instead of leaving you to guess.

Difficulty changes the rules rather than nudging the odds. On Easy the guarantees aren't up for negotiation at all. And when a star outplays the deal you gave him he notices, and on Easy and Medium he'll ask out, and on Hard he'll actually sit.

Your opponents pile up. Every meeting between two clubs is remembered, and a series that stays close and stays mean gets named for it, working up through history and rivalry to bad blood. You get the write-up before kickoff and your record against all 31 of them.

Coaches have a market of their own. Coordinators and scouts hit free agency, you can promote one of yours into the head chair, or pay a premium to poach somebody else's. Loyalty buys a discount, so does a contender's job, and the offer screen tells you which.

You don't have to keep the names, either. Rename the clubs, cities, stadiums and conferences, and set all three of a club's colors.

It's still being built, in the open. Updates land most weeks, and one of them is titled Fixes from your reports, because that's where it came from. Report something broken and there's a real chance you end up playing the fix.

Free, and it stays free. No microtransactions, no in-app purchases, no ads, no energy timers, no premium currency, no paid boosts. Ever.

Fully offline. No account, no server. It runs on your phone.

### 5/5 — Clean and in-depth. (EDIT)

*2026-09-13*

Plenty of control over the league and how you’d like it to be run. Pre-game analysis and end of season recap are the cherry on top. I’m sure I’ll run into some bugs eventually, but this simulator is leagues above the rest.
Please add a manual save feature! It doesn’t back track much, but there are times it doesn’t save progress.

**Developer response:** Hey there, feel free to reach out on reddit if possible, would love to know more about which portions are not saving! Either way I will also look into it. Thanks!

### 5/5 — Best GM mobile game I’ve played

*2026-09-10*

I’ve never written a review before but this game and developer deserves all the praise with the constant work and updates they’ve been pushing out. The game only gets more and more detailed and entertaining and I can’t wait to see where it goes next.

### 5/5 — Top 3 football sim if it was free but it’s a great game

*2026-09-08*

The game feels amazing

### 2/5 — Pure Ai

*2026-09-06*

Right intentions but it’s brutally obvious a human was not fully a part of the process

**Developer response:** Just wait until he finds out carpenters use power tools now, going to be a rough day

### 5/5 — Good Game

*2026-09-03*

I’d look at tweaking the draft and team overalls. The Draft feels way too easy, seems every team is drafting good. Drafted players seem like they develop really fast too. There really isn’t a difference in team overalls either. Feels really easy to build a team. I went from 8-9 to 12-5 within 1 year. Not saying it can’t happen…let’s be real sometimes though. Other than that I can see this game exploding Past PGM 3 once you guys finish the product.

**Developer response:** Hey there, yea we're actively working on tweaking the balance of realism. After 1.2.8 is out, I will turn my focus towards the draft again. It's a delicate balance as it permeates throughout the balance of the entire game, so it's somewhat tough to do and requires careful decision making. Thank you for the support though!

### 5/5 — Great game

*2026-09-02*

Lots of detail, very fun. Love how dynamic the player dev and opposing teams are. Highly recommend.

### 5/5 — Quality and Detail In A F2P

*2026-08-31*

I don’t leave reviews as cliche as that is but it’s the least I could do for a well put together free experience that this is. Great way to pass time in a care free yet as detailed and challenging as you would like it to be. Excellent Football Sim!

### 5/5 — Best Mobile Football Gm

*2026-08-30*

Blows any other football gm out of the water and I have played PGM3 and any other mobile gm this one is deeper and more realistic with a very responsive and committed dev.

### 4/5 — ADD NFL ROSTERS

*2026-08-30*

If you add the NFL rosters I would have gave it a five star. I just want to play with the players I know so it’s fun and not confusing. Also I’m a bills fan,GO BILLS!!!

**Developer response:** Hey there, thanks for providing feedback! So I cannot simply use player's likeness in game from a legal perspective. You will note that no other football GM game does this unless they're licensed. I will eventually allow people to create their own rosters and load them, but note that will require someone spend a great deal of time doing so.

Additionally, even if you had real NFL rosters, after several seasons almost everyone will have been replaced with generated players, so quite honestly I am not sure it's going to make much of an impact to add real soon anyways,

### 3/5 — Average

*2026-08-29*

Takes a lot of inspiration from pocket GM while trying to one-up it at the same time. I like some of the features such as the practice squad and the extended stats. But besides that Pocket GM has is beat everywhere else. UI still needs some work and is not very responsive. Some of the stats don’t make any sense I had a player get 22 sacks but everywhere else including the league wide stats only said he got 8. The use of AI to generate stories loses its charm after a few seasons.

**Developer response:** Hey there, I look forward to earning those 5 stars from you one day! The game has been out for less than a month, and I'm actively working pushing the game both functionally and creatively in new directions every day. If you've followed since launch hopefully you've seen that, but if not hang tight because the next few months will really take it forward from a realism perspective.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.3.2 — 2026-09-14

• Smarter first rounds: tackles and centres now go where they really go. A centre can top the board and still slide to a late-first pick, and clubs no longer reach for a run of cornerbacks at the top.
• Clubs draft for real upgrades: a team stops stacking depth at one position when it already has a starter there.
• College stats that match the hype: a highly projected prospect's college numbers now read like a first-rounder's, not a backup's.
• A sharper scout's take: your scouts tell you when the tape and the numbers disagree, and when a pick is too early for his position.
• A cleaner draft board: your recommended pick is marked OUR PICK right beside the reason, so rows stay compact.
• New in the draft room: a DRAFT CLASSES sheet shows where each class is deep, and a SQUAD peek lets you check your roster from the market.
• EDIT STAFF, reopened: set a coach's skills, personality and position coaches using the same ELITE to VERY POOR words the cards use. Staff contracts now show and edit their guaranteed years.
• FILLS A NEED works on a full roster: free agency, TRADE BLOCK and the draft board show who would actually start for you, and a free agent who fills a need carries an arrow on his position.
• Offensive linemen get scheme-fit tints and the SCHEME FIT filter like everyone else, and a player's "Thrives in" line now matches what the game rewards.
• Contract drama: young stars coming off rookie deals can demand an extension, and a spurned star can refuse to re-sign or sit out. You'll see it coming, and other clubs will come calling for him.
• OT, OG and C are now separate everywhere you filter players.
• New-game setup adds an ADVANCED step: pick your league's starting year and more.
• Press write-ups speak to each position, including a dedicated quarterback storyline.
• A cleaner STAFF market board.
• Fixes and polish: the last-pick draft card fits small screens, the FINAL mock draft waits for the locked draft order, staff RELEASE no longer hangs on LOADING after a relaunch, starter proposals name the week they take effect, and the staff contract editor fits large text sizes.

### 1.3.1 — 2026-09-12

1.3.1 sharpens the GM experience across drama, trades, coaches, the draft and play film.

• Player drama is now under your control: hear about MY TEAM, ALL TEAMS or turn it OFF.
• No-trade clauses are clearer. Players now tell you which clubs they would actually accept.
• Coaches now weigh your club’s appeal before taking the job, so winning teams with cap room can attract better candidates.
• Custom team names now show correctly across more of the app, including trade screens.
• Player cards now show how much a rating has moved this year.
• Draft logic is smarter: Round 1 values tackles correctly, top quarterbacks go where they should, and clubs can trade up for a QB they want.
• Draft Board and Office filters now help you find FILLS A NEED, SCHEME FIT and WEAKEST POSITIONS.
• Retirement cards now explain why a player walked away.
• Film view is cleaner: step through a full game’s plays from compact view, with captions that stay out of the action.
• Watching a play now holds the pile until the whistle instead of breaking apart early.
• Fixes and polish for contract editing, mood settings and long custom team names.

### 1.3.0 — 2026-09-09

Rivalries are real. The game now remembers every meeting between two clubs — a heated series gets marked HISTORY, RIVALRY, or BAD BLOOD, your next rival opponent is flagged, and a pre-game write-up sets the stakes before kickoff. Your full head-to-head record against all 31 clubs lives on your career page.

Make the league your own. Rename clubs, cities, and stadiums, set custom conference names, and pick each club's colors with a built-in color picker — watching your changes update live on the uniform, broadcast bar, and field. You can now also export your league's identity to a file and load one back in, so you can back up or share a full set of clubs, names, and colors.

Smarter trades. Offers show each side's value and who's viewing it, dead-cap charges get their own line, and packages are now compact with each player's cap impact shown up front. Accepting a trade asks you to confirm the exact deal before it's final.

A smarter draft. A club with a franchise quarterback stops burning a premium pick on a redundant one, and draft-day trades now survive closing the app.

Playoffs, your way. Once you're eliminated or sitting out, sim the postseason one week at a time instead of all at once — and a club that missed the playoffs can no longer stall the bracket.

Depth matters. Drag players into the order you want on the depth chart, and your team rating now reflects that order instead of a flat roster list.

Play visualization, on by default. Watch any finished play — snaps, loose balls, and film synced to the clock all got smoother.

Also: season-ending injuries can now end a career (your medical staff affects the odds), free agency reopens for multi-year bids from cap-rich rivals, rival rookies hide their ratings just like yours, and player cards now open as a sheet you can flick away instead of a full page.

Plus dozens of fixes: faster saves and loads, a smaller install, consistent rating colors, and a punt now correctly ruled a touchback at the 20.

Countless bug fixes and realism updates

### 1.2.7 — 2026-09-02
