I am in Edinburgh for one month and I need to use capital cars twice a day for work and to complete the financial investigation work required( part of a contract and account ) . I have have however tried dozens of time trying to get the app to work but after putting my telephone number in the app it comes back and says it will send me a confirmation text which I never receive.  There is no way around this annoying and frustrating issue and considering my company will be paying at least £500/£600 in the next 20 days in fares for myself alone you would have thought a simple thing like an app would have been easy to organise. 
Please either resolve or remove this app as it is doing untold damage to your companies credibility to outside financial institutions and companies.

The app is alright, I’ve never had a problem with it, however I’d recommend you be very alert when dealing with the final cost of any journey and electronic payments.

During recent journeys drivers have not correctly calculated and applied the 20% discount from the meter fare, as advertised.

I’d strongly recommend paying in cash, with the correct money, if possible too!

I've used these guys for a long time and the old app worked well. This new app though is terrible. It never saves your card details and sometimes crashes out after you try and enter your card details. Having to look elsewhere for a taxi in Edinburgh now.

Simply not working. 
Let's start with first announcement- system sync. With what? With my phone? With your system? For what? No answer. 
Final message- requested time out. Is sync done? 
Next. 
When you try to add way you like to pay - your application shows blue screen. There is no options to choose!
I try to write email to to you guys and response - we experience some internet connection problems... 
Probably you need someone who can test your app on all devices.  Until its not done - useless app. Not worth spend a time to instal.

Looks a good app but the maps are out of date or wrong.  Kept giving the wrong address for my location and the manual function couldn't find my address.

This is actually a good wee app but since the latest iOS update the app no longer works. It removed all my details and keeps asking to register them again but fails to "sync"  every time. Also it keeps asking to input a preferred payment option which I would do, but when I go click on it and go to the screen where you can choose cash or card, the screen is blank. Shame, really as I used this app a lot.

Was able to book departure and return journeys from Edinburgh airport with this, no problems. Will definitely be using again for any future taxi bookings.

App knows I’m registered, but no forgotten password ability or ability to get past registration in re download to new iPhone 14. Better to call, but lost discount. Not fit for purpose atm… 🙄

The app feels from 2007. And now you cant no longer use it without registering, and i cant register because they dont like my passwords. Back to the 90s and book taxis via phone. Those were better times. Just kill this app, it makes your company look bad.

Have used this company & app in the past, but since upgrading, it first insisted I wasn’t registered (despite a history of getting emails/texts of journeys previously) - then on trying to register, was unable to complete by verifying my phone number since no confirmation text ever arrived.

Have switched to using City Cabs instead - their app was quick and easy, and from experience their pricing is far more transparent (Capital Cars claim you get 20% off their fare price, but drivers frequently ‘forget’ or  ‘estimate’ this discount)

I really don’t like this new app......it gives you the option to pay by card but when the journey is finished the driver is saying to pay by cash honestly so annoying please fix this error😕

Book cab 24 hours earlier for 8.15cab didn’t come to 8.35 Journey took 35 minutes and should only have taken for 20 minutes. Set up App with logging in but then couldn’t get the app to work.
Will not be using this company again.

Received a voucher in student accommodation for £10, £5, £3 off taxis with “cheaper taxis” app, owned by capital cars. . I download the app and a capital card taxi driver arrives and when my journey is complete the driver says he has no idea what Cheaper Taxis is and that my voucher is not valid and tries to make me pay full fare. I complain and ring up Capital Cars and the woman, who hung up the first time I rang, says that I need the paper voucher (it doesn’t say this on the leaflet) it says to enter the voucher code into the app and that the discount will be applied and the discount is applied at checkout but it either doesn’t go through to the taxi drivers and capital hadn’t informed their drivers of the offer or they don’t intend to follow through with the vouchers. The driver then becomes extremely rude and I ask my boyfriend to go up to my room and grab the voucher, the driver calls me a rude and bad person for making him wait and doesn’t apologise after we present the voucher. Worst customer service from both capital operator and the drivers, and despite what capital claims they are not a cab company they use private hire drivers and have bee in trouble with the council many times for poor conduct.

Have used the app for about a year now. Recently logged out and won’t let me log in saying user not found. Can’t re-register we won’t accept my details as they’re already registered. I WANT to use this company however the app will not allow it so I will book elsewhere from now on.

I love capitals cars and all the drivers are normally nice and friendly. The app on the other hand is not worth. There are a lot of issues with it and if you need a taxi is easier just to call them and book it. I get that this is the way they want to go from now on but until the app is working properly I am avoiding using it. Payments, waiting times, the map that shows where the driver is, etc all those things are not working properly. A better investment on the development side of the app needs to be done for it to be effective and efficient as currently is not.

I use the company for work or personal reasons. The drivers are always super friendly and polite. They have never been late and the prices are always the best.

I have never faced a problem using the app even after the iOS update. Capital cars is the only company I use in Edinburgh.

Tip: it would be helpful to see an estimate of our fare on the app prior to booking.

You select your pick up, your destination and your payment method. Taxi tracking is fairly accurate and have used this app over 10 times in the last week with no issues.
