David keeps us informed and up-to-date everyday by not only providing accurate forecasts (hence, his nickname) but also by actively engaging and interacting with his members. It’s always posted for this area of town but due to the mountains that are in the county, this area gets called it’s local name, but the other meteorologists must mean the communities near by-the high school areas. I’ve lived there and the weather is just different though only 5-6 miles away. I can count on David Aldrich to get it right more than the others unless it’s just a big big storm that everyone gets correct. It frightens me to think of tornadoes and straight line winds and I’ve seen straightline winds cause our roofs to be replaced. So, I follow this meteorologist and his app every time I get worried. I also use the alert tools for my family in other parts of the country. I believe this tool helped protect my niece on night a few months ago. She was driving home ftom the St Louis airport and had no idea tornadoes were in the area. I had her stop under a bridge until I could see the worst had passed. She arrived home safely. We miss you on TV. ### 5/5 — This app SAVED MY LIFE *2020-03-25* On 3/24/2020, I was in Tishimingo, MS. The SPC has us in a risk for severe weather, however the tornado threat was advertised as low. Little did we know what was brewing in that storm. A tornado warning was issued and the Dangerous Storm Approaching feature with the Twisting Storm Approaching Warned me 10 minutes before the NWS. The BTI (Baron Tornado Index) was a 6 out of 10! Around 5:30 PM, a tornado touched down in the heart of Tishimingo and destroyed town. I know our local grocery store got completely Destroyed as well and it was a very large tornado. As it went into Alabama, a tornado emergency was issued. If it weren’t for this app, I would have died.
