## What is Caption Forge?

Caption Forge is a local-first caption writing lab for creators, independent operators, small brands, and social teams who want repeatable structure before posting.

Start from a topic, generate multiple caption drafts from built-in frameworks, compare options, score the writing, tune hashtags, check platform length, and save the captions that are worth keeping. Caption Forge is designed for people who care about hooks, reader action, readability, tone, and platform fit but still want a fast writing workflow.

The new Publish Readiness screen combines the app's hook strength, caption score, reader action, hashtag density, platform fit, and readability checks into one preflight report. It gives the draft a readiness score, labels the weak areas, and lists the top fixes before the caption goes live.

First Comment moves your trailing hashtag block into a separate copy-ready comment so your caption stays clean. Everything runs on-device, as always.

Caption Forge 2.1 adds Publish Readiness, a new preflight screen that combines hook strength, reader action, hashtag balance, platform fit, readability, and Forge Score into one practical go/no-go checklist. It also adds priority fixes, a final-post checklist, and new test coverage for readiness scoring.

This update sharpens the interface: the iPad layout now uses a centered, comfortable reading width instead of stretching edge to edge, so every screen reads as a clean column. iPhone is unchanged; still fully on-device.
