## What is Caption Kiln?

Caption Kiln is a quiet workshop for making captioned photo avatars. Drop any picture from your library into the Forge, pick a phrase you would actually say, and pair it with a real typeface. Six caption styles let you wear the same line six different ways — from sticker-book retro to bold statements.

Browse twelve curated caption packs with hundreds of small phrases sorted by mood: hype, poetic, retro, quiet mood, quotes, bold, and tender. Type your own line anytime. Sixteen fonts across script, serif, display, retro, mono, and playful categories each come with a short history note so you know why the letterforms feel the way they do.

Save finished avatars in Studio and revisit them whenever you need a fresh profile picture. Packs and Fonts tabs work like a library behind the curtain. Guides offers short, opinionated essays on typography, composition, color, and tone — not step-by-step tutorials, but reads for people who caption photos.

Five focused rooms — Forge, Studio, Packs, Fonts, and Guides — keep everything on your device. Portrait or landscape, pet or plate: if it is in your photo library, the Kiln can warm a caption around it.

Happy exploring — here's what's new: The editor reopens your last firing — same typeface, caption wear, and placement — so the next photo starts where the clay left off; Fonts header now names the house face from your studio shelf, and notes which voice (like script) still hasn't fired; Caption packs offer the next lines from the set you already chose, instead of starting from a blank list of moods; Studio welcomes you back after a pause by naming the last firing's phrase and typeface; Each saved avatar opens with a one-line kiln story: weekday, typeface, wear, and which pack the line came from; Saving a piece can mark a first voice in a new typeface family, or a series of three in the same face; A single shelf note in Studio names whether Display is shouting or a script face would cool the next firing; and forge shows kiln heat from the last firing — hot coals, holding embers, cooling, or a cold kiln ready to light again.
