If the following improvements were mad it would be much better: 1. Deal with performance issues 2. provide simple way of editing captions/subtitles 3. Enable user to create a customer style that they can call up (for font size, colours etc) 4. Enable font size to be changeable with entering a number rather than small slider These improvements would also mean a hugher oruce could be ok as it would be so good... I have written to Jon, and hopefully he will respond and attend to the issues as what is there would in my view be one of the best apps for this... ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2021-04-21, version 1.0.48* I would be better off writing my captions myself. I’ve just wasted an hour trying to get this app to work. Once you make corrections, it just doesn’t work. On a few videos it wouldn’t even process, but on every single clip I take the text, no matter the size and format I select, always comes out super tiny in the final product even if the preview in the app looks normal. Nothing happens. I have tried it multiple times and with multiple videos. However, I downloaded this to make my tiktoks more accessible and this app does not allow you to choose where the captions are generated, so they are hidden by my content description. Like frozen and nothing else happens. I’m very disappointed, it is really a waste of time. I don’t understand how you charge money when the app still have so many bugs. I tried for 4 hours to complete a 6 minute caption job and after about 7 crashes I finally finished it only for it to freeze on export and lose the entire project. That part was actually comical. Where it didn’t become so comical was when I had to edit the entire video and it won’t let me change/edit where the words should pop up abs when. I had to delete the entire captioning so it started me at the end of the video. Then I tried to edit word by word, deleting the incorrect word and replacing it with the correct word to hold the spot. Still didn’t work. It is NOT user friendly and I don’t understand way. Hoping I can get a refund, unsatisfied within 30 minutes of using this app. Waste of money. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — A con *2026-04-09, version 2.0.8* The software I just bought and downloaded bears NO resemblance to the pictures above. It is an ugly UI, with unusable controls, no functionality, it stutters to a halt when you stop the video playing, the AI “subtitles” are wildly inaccurate and unusable. This feels like a student project that someone has decided to sell, using generated screengrabs. Absolute junk ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work at all on new Mac computers *2024-10-03, version 2.0.8* I’m the author of Filmmaking for Dummies and my fans have asked me if there’s a caption app for Final Cut Pro or videos in general. Definitely NOT this one! Caption This locks up and doesn’t work at all on newer Mac OS. Now trying to get my money back. ### 1/5 — Not Working *2024-09-27* I bought the app because, according to the images, it can automatically generate subtitles for a video. That’s the theory, but unfortunately, the reality is different. When you open the app, you are initially limited to the Apple Photos library, and you cannot edit videos from the Finder with the app. So, I saved my video to my Photos library and ran it through the app. However, the app does not generate subtitles for me. I can select between different options for font styles and more, but nothing is actually added to the video. The video only contains a voice generated by AI and has no background noise, so it’s not possible that the app cannot detect the voice in my video since the audio track contains only one voice—no music or other disturbances. Since the app is quite simple and doesn’t offer many settings, it’s possible that I just didn’t understand how it works, as there is no instruction manual. However, I couldn’t find any button to give the app the command to add subtitles, so I assume the app should do this automatically, which unfortunately it does not. If the app reliably embeds subtitles in the video in the future, I would definitely recommend it. + Clear and straightforward interface + Easy to use + Essential settings are available and easy to adjust - Currently doesn’t work, at least for me. -> Hence the 1-star rating. ### 1/5 — Und arbeitet und arbeitet und arbeitet. *2024-01-29* Und arbeitet und arbeitet und arbeitet.
