Ii can log in to the app. I can make calls from the app, but any calls to my caption call mobile number go straight to voice mail without ringing or any notifications. I needed to have a new Caption Call phone installed and the installer also checked out my iPhone and the Caption Call app. After a while Loki g at setting and calling my caption call mobile number from his phone he stated that it was incompatible right now and hopefully he said a patch will be coming out to fix it. This is frustrating as when I have to leave a message I have to call from my Caption Call phone at home. I can’t call and leave a message from the mobile app as I won’t be know when they call back as it goes immediately to voicemail. Please, please, please fix this! It is a big problem!! ### 2/5 — Frustratingly unreliable *2022-05-03, version 6.2.4* Captioncall—both in landline form and on mobile—is aggravatingly unreliable. When I most need to be able to place a call, the captions drop out multiple times, or only capture maybe 1/10 of what is being said. I don’t know if it’s still human transcribers on the other end (in which case they are either not being trained properly, or just are no good at their jobs) or if CaptionCall has made the grievous mistake of switching to crappy auto-captions. I would switch to a different caption telephone provider if one existed. ### 3/5 — Contacts from a long time ago *2022-05-01, version 6.2.4* Im sorry but the last thing i want to have is an automatic transfer of phones contacts from my contacts to this captioncall llc app be out of my control- and better yet, having to manually Upload each contact or not able to delete the contact. ### 2/5 — Captioncall app *2022-03-22, version 6.2.4* I had this app on my phone for a week before deleting it. It was hard to figure out how to use it and that my calls had to be forwarded. When I figured it out, I used it but was disconnected three times during my call. Also, was never notified of a call and voicemail received. The captioning had a very long delay time, was inaccurate, and very confusing, impossible to use on a real phone call. I would be waiting forever to read what the other person said. Also, when I called customer service on the day I downloaded it, they were impossible to understand. They don’t know how to communicate with hearing impaired people! Very disappointing. ### 2/5 — Functional, but not great. *2022-02-28, version 6.2.4* This is a functional captioning app for call BUT needs major improvements in settings and utility in order to be great. There is no effective way to block spam calls or to filter unwanted calls (that I can figure out in my year of usage). Captions are provided reasonably well and meet my current needs but the frustration of spamming and inability to filter frustrates me. I would prefer a means to send ALL calls to voicemail directly versus ringing my iPhone at all. ### 3/5 — It doesn’t work *2022-02-16, version 6.2.4* I use this for my mobile phone and it didn’t work with out WiFi when I need to make calls it’s annoying ### 3/5 — It needs some updated bug fixes. *2021-02-27, version 6.1.202* I would give it more stars but there are definitely some issues. 1. It does not send me notifications that someone actually called me (I have to go into the app and find out I missed 15 calls from doctors and such) 2. It hangs up the phone before I even get a chance to know I got a phone call OR it just keeps ringing and ringing and ringing for hours. 3. The captioner takes several moments to finally type in the message while at the same time I’m hearing the person say hello hello several times before giving up on me. I can’t respond if I don’t know what’s being said. ### 3/5 — Beautiful UI but not functional *2021-02-19, version 6.1.202* I love the user interface of this app. It's beautiful and easy to read when it works, but I had to go back to InnoCaption because there are still quite a few bugs for the developers to iron out. The first day it worked well and my only complaint was the delay in getting a captioner. But today I saw I had voicemails and so I listened and they were from yesterday. Missed calls do not show up in the app. Today I was waiting for calls and when they showed up, I tried to answer and it either did not pick up at all or caption. Missed calls do not show up in the app. I am on LTE data right now, but that shouldn't be an issue. Hoping this app improves because I'd love to use it as it is aesthetically pleasing and well designed. It seems to be missing a way to set up notifications and turn off log in screen / set to automatically log in so I can answer calls. ### 2/5 — Needs Improvement *2021-02-16, version 6.1.202* Captions are displayed too slowly to where the caller will disconnect because there is no response. I find explaining I am deaf and using a captioned service and ask the person on the other end to please be patient as I respond works well enough. I only use this when I have no other option. Makes me feel like CaptionCall is doing the bare minimum to qualify for the free federal reimbursement. I doubt they would have much business if this service was paid directly by the consumer and not from taxes. Might want to invest in a Captel phone if you rely on captioned calls. ### 1/5 — I’m not so happy *2021-02-09, version 6.1.198* #1 phone doesn’t ring when there is an in coming call. Goes right to voicemail to the forwarded call number. #2 this is the most important criticism. when I called into tech support, the gentleman who I spoke to was rude, and had less than acceptable knowledge about the app. the call ended with him fixing the ringer problem by making the cell number a phone number that was either out of order, changed, or disconnected. #3 unable to do a simple uninstall. Also, I’d rather the call come thru my own cell number. I dont want to be giving everybody two different phone numbers. Thanks. ### 3/5 — No Bluetooth tooth audio support *2020-10-09, version 6.0.124* Having recently installed this app it seems that there is no audio option for Bluetooth and hearing aid devices on iPhone. There seems to be only phone and speaker. I often use my hearing aid as a Bluetooth device to try to better hear a call when I am able to or if I need privacy in a call. My caption call telephone at home is immensely helpful to me having captions when on call. Please add Bluetooth audio device options to app and I will be able to rate much higher. Otherwise great app, keep up the good work! ### 3/5 — Good Product *2020-09-11, version 6.0.124* I love the Caption Call concept and try to use this app as much as possible. The only problem is the calls don’t always forward to my closed caption number AND calls drop especially at the most in opportune times (during high level work meetings). Folks think I’ve hung up on them BUT the calls drop. The biggest problem for me is that there is no notification when someone is calling me at all. I would only know if I got calls if I open the app and see the missed calls. Needs more work. The calls won’t go through. And when they come through, captions don’t show up. All inbound calls go directly into voicemail rendering this a dysfunctional communication tool. Outbound calls have spotty captioning service — drops frequently mid-call. When I tried to set it up I put all my information in and then it wouldn’t let me login because it didn’t recognize the username or password. I’ve been trying to answer an automated call so I can receive a security for the past half hour. The call automatically cuts off. It want my normal iPhone voicemails to be taken over by this app. Now I’ve missed many calls and many customers because of your app’s ability to hack into my call log and not allowing me to have my normal iPhone voicemails! This app and my caption call does not work. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Good Captioning App *2021-08-31, version 6.2.1* I have 3 different captioning apps, and Caption Call is the best of the three. It has improved so much in terms of minimal lag time, friendly interface, and good call quality. Sometimes the captioner isn’t accurate but most of the time I don’t have trouble guessing what the captioner meant to say. No issues regarding people not being able to hear me anymore. Also, the call forwarding capability and voicemail service is really helpful. ### 5/5 — Most Helpful *2021-08-25, version 6.2.1* I have been using CaptionCall since 2019. I don’t have a cell phone, I use my iPad for calls. My iPad is my go to everything for home and on the go. Because I am not able to text non Apple users I am able to call them with my iPad using CaptionCall app. There has be minor glitches that are constantly improving with this app. Overall I’m glad it’s available, it helps me when I don’t hear the conversation so well. In the pass three months I have bought and sold houses, moved to another state, set up services, new doctors, utilities and to update my friends and family. Great app and service! ### 5/5 — Better than not talking on the phone at all *2020-11-09, version 6.0.124* I saw the above about not knowing a pin for voicemail and looked up in the book and it says go to the voicemail and enter 1234# the first time and then it will prompt you to enter a personal PIN number Works like a charm. Sometimes the texts are slow and the people I am talking to think I have stopped listening but I eventually get the hang of it. But anyway it helps me a lot.
