The interface is clean, simple, and very easy to use. I especially love the sharing feature. It’s taken the guesswork out of tracking service history and made keeping up with our vehicles effortless. I test tried other apps as well and found this one to be the most intuitive and easy data entry. I use it to track all 4 of my vehicles as well as my generator and pressure washer maintenances too. I’d like to track when I do things like oil changes or pad slaps. Check. A few weird limitations though. Why can’t I give my cars nicknames? Or even use the plate as the identifier? This one was the best among the ones I’ve tried, and probably the best in the App Store. It has a simple yet modern user interface. It allows for a wide range of customization, iCloud and local backup, and freedom with adding and maintaining services and repairs. The best part of the app is the developer; they are active and constantly updating and improving the app through user feedback. They are willing to help with any questions that might arise through email which I have had personal experience with. I tried Fuelly, CarFax CarCare, Car Maintenance. None of them match up to Car Cave. You can create and customize your own services (monthly/mileage/both) and log them. It shows you when the next one is due and keeps a history of each item. It has a place for cost which is nice. The only desirable that would make this awesome app even better would be a fuel tracker for mpg and for cost. Thank you, again. ### 5/5 — Great app! *2025-02-09* I found this app after another I was using is no longer available on my new device. After trying a couple of others I found this app to be very complete and customizable with services. The only recommendation I’d like to make on this app would be the addition of “hours” to miles and kilometers for a vehicle. This would allow more complete tracking of a boat, tractor, etc and keep everything on one app. Also, I really hope the developer will create a very similar app for home maintenance tracking. Seems like most would be very similar, would want to upload a picture of receipts for each service if applicable. **Developer response:** Hi, thank you very much for your comments, I really appreciate it. Overall too many menus need going through to achieve anything. Also doesn’t seem to be a way to delete a log entry? Repeating services feature is smart. D+ and that’s being generous ### 2/5 — Getting better… still unusable though *2022-08-24* Great that tracking by mileage is now an option… problem is it is not independent from date. You cannot select a custom mileage interval separate from date. I cannot set my oil change to 12 months or 10k miles.. nope. Every month is tied to 1k miles. So I must either select 12 mo/12k or 10 mo/10k. That is not workable. Date and mileage must be independently selectable, not tied together. Also.. it’s seems the only way to reset a Service tracker is to do it now (current date and miles). Entering past services into Service History does not effect the current tracking. That’s not usable. **Developer response:** Edit: 03/25/25: Have you tried the latest version? The distance and time have been separated, try it and let me know what you think. - Original: I will try to separate the distance and time. Would you mind elaborating a little more on the issue entering services? The idea is that you enter previous records directly in the Service History screen except for the last one since that's the one you'll be tracking. Kind reminder, if you already paid for the app and are not satisfied, you can always ask Apple for your money back. - Hi, thank you for your comments. The ability to track services by mileage or kilometers was added on version 3.0 which was released in Aug 22, 2022. The life-cycle indicator updates based on what happens first, distance or time. Thanks. ### 2/5 — Have to enter history in chronological order *2022-07-17* I’m on a car trip and download the app while my wife is taking a turn driving and started entering the history for my 2015 vehicle to kill some time. After entering the most recent oil change and then entering the previous oil change, they show up in the history in the order entered, regardless if the odometer or date settings for each oil change. They are out of order. Why wouldn’t the history always show in reverse chronological or reverse odometer order as default so that the “latest” service is the most recent, not the last one entered? This seems silly to show the history in the order entered regardless of date. Now I have to stop using the app until I get home and gather all my receipts and sort them myself before entering any more. Disappointed. **Developer response:** Edit 04/07/25, Have you tried the latest version? - EDIT Aug 28, 2022: The ability to add previous services that were not tracked by the app was added in version 3.0, just go to the Service History screen and add your service records there. Try it and let me know what you think! - Thank you for your comments. Please keep in mind that the app it's pretty young still and new features are constantly added. Records are ordered by service date, NOT by date entered. Please note that the last service you enter is always tracked, in other words, it shows in the records screen but it really still in progress and updates as time passes, please note that it turns red, yellow or green based on the service life. If you want to log previous services, just make sure that the last service you enter is really the last service you have done for that specific service, the rest of the services can really be entered in any order and will be automatically re-ordered by service date (not by day entered). The ability to enter records directly in the records screen is coming soon, just be patient, I'm constantly improving the app. If what you're seeing is different than what I'm describing here, please contact me at support@filysalas.com and send me more details. I paid for premium and it is totally worth it. I manage 5 vehicles and realized I couldn’t keep track anymore of when I did repairs and maintenance. This app has been great. I sent the developer an email awhile back about something I thought could be an improvement and I actually heard back which I feel makes this app even better! I recommend this to anyone who has a vehicle!
