Called customer support and they suggested deleting and downloading the app. Worked once to twice and then failed again. It closes each time when trying to access a file. ### 2/5 — Used to be great, now terrible! *2026-06-27, version 5.1.926* This used to be a great app but now it keeps crashing on me. First, it requires me to input my credentials even though I have “use biometric data” turned on. Then when I am in, as soon as I click on “browse all files” the app boots me out and closes itself. I have logging out and back in, I have tried clearing the cache and have tried deleting and reinstalling the app. None of these have fixed the problem. ### 2/5 — Pricey for its shortcomings and dysfunctions *2025-11-24, version 5.1.0* App crashes frequently. Image previews in the app load very slowly. Slow to scroll through photos in a backed up folder in the app. Doesn't automatically backup video files (?!?). Doesn't update backup as frequently or immediately as I need it to, so the files accessed through the app aren't as recent a version as the ones on my laptop. Disappointing to be paying top dollar for this service... would be ok if it was 1/3 the price. ### 4/5 — Help *2025-07-06, version 5.1.0* I did click the app support button through the App Store, and it takes me to a “page not found” on your website, so this is the only place I can mention this. The app has been acting up and won't open ### 1/5 — Completely unreliable *2024-11-09, version 4.8* This app sits on your computer backing up docs and therefore slowing it down all day. You put up with that knowing your data is safe. But when it comes to trying to access something it is almost, literally, impossible. I try only to attempt it when absolutely necessary but have failed every time I’ve tried in two years. There is no response of any sort from customer service. You login and nothing works, it will show your backed up computers but good luck trying to see a list of anything. Next I’ll complain about just how crappy the product is on MAC devices about once a month you have to reinstall the application on your MacBook just to hopefully get it to backup your device. ### 1/5 — Worthless *2024-07-07, version 4.8* Downloaded this app to use on my mobile devices. Opened it to get familiar with it. Clicked on the user file name. Clicked on documents. There is only one option…search by file name. That’s fine if you know the specific file name, but what if you don’t? No “ HELP” option. The laptop version is hard enough to navigate.I don’t need to be frustrated on 2 versions. Deleting this app.Also noticed that the last reviews (mostly bad) are 2 years old! Is this really functional app or have they given up on trying to fix it? When trying to open it, it just spins and spins, and spins, never opening. I’ve tried force closing it. Nothing. I’ve tried rebooting the phone. Same thing. The only fix that seems to work is uninstalling the app and then reinstalling it. Seems to work for a few days and less than a week later its back to infinite spin. When it works its great. But mostly it doesn’t work. ### 3/5 — Won’t open. *2024-05-19, version 4.7* Half the time I can’t get this to open on my phone. On data or wifi. What’s the point of having it if it won’t open? In between, it crashes constantly when trying to search files. Not even worth the effort anymore and after 15 years as a customer, this will be my last year! Do the developers even use it? April 2024 update. Although I canceled, it doesn’t expire until June. I was excited to see they upgraded the app recently so I gave it another chance. After upgrading I wasn’t able to log in, once again it wouldn’t get past the load screen. so I deleted the app and reinstalled it and was able to log in one time; but it crashed after searching for a file. The next day it wouldn't get past the log in screen. I keep reinstalling it to get some use out of it but even when I can sign I , it crashes repeatedly when searching for a file. So much for an upgrade. What a joke this company has become. It works seamlessly and for me, when I need to Search for a Document, often I cannot find directly on my computer, the Carbonite pops it right up, saving me time and frustration. When I call for technical assistance, that occurs rarely, the Carbonite Representatives are outstanding. Thank you, Carbonite. Having been able to access the thousands of files while away from my laptop was a tremendous help to my job and especially for customer inquiries. Now I’m sorry I renewed. Seeing file statistics does not help me at all. I know that I can forward the files to myself via email or text, but that’s a step back, not an enhancement. With the tremendous number of apps that enhance accessibility on mobile devices, why would the developer not continue to allow file access without this extra step. This has taken me from a 5 star rating to1 star.
