CarbonTrack functions as a tool to help users be held accountable for their carbon footprint. This gamified approach aims to challenge users to earn XP and badges by making efforts to reduce their footprint and learn greener habits. Users may compete with others in the app by leveling up and earning more badges.
The accessible mobile app includes a dashboard of the user’s current carbon footprint based on their food, transportation, and energy consumption habits. The user is prompted with a quiz daily, weekly, and monthly for their food, transportation, and energy consumption habits respectively. The app then provides them with weekly/monthly personalized recommendation tasks to help improve their footprint.
