## What is CarbPlanner?

Bonking isn't bad luck — it's a fueling plan you didn't make. CarbPlanner builds that plan for you.

Tell it how many grams of carbs per hour you want, add the gels, bars, chews and bottles you'll actually carry, and CarbPlanner lays them out on a minute-by-minute timeline so your energy stays steady from the gun to the finish.

WHY IT'S DIFFERENT
• Timing that respects your body. A 40 g gel lasts longer than a 20 g one, and a bar takes far longer to absorb than a gel. CarbPlanner spaces every feed around how your gut actually works — not just evenly on a clock.
• Route-aware fueling. Import a GPX file and CarbPlanner reads the terrain: it front-loads energy before climbs, keeps feeds on the flats, and stops asking you to eat mid-climb or on a technical descent.
• Hydration, not just carbs. Plan your bottles with real sodium numbers, adjusted for heat and intensity so you drink enough without overdoing it.

BUILT FOR RACE DAY
• A live timeline that tells you what to take and when, as the session runs
• Notifications so you never miss a feed
• Product search to pull in real carb and sodium data, or add your own
• Session history — reuse any past race as a template for the next one
• A shareable plan card for your ride buddies

ON YOUR WRIST AND LOCK SCREEN
• Apple Watch: your next feed on your wrist, with a haptic tap when it's time
• Live Activity and Dynamic Island: the countdown stays on your Lock Screen
• Barcode scan: point at a gel or drink mix and pull in its real numbers

Whether it's a Saturday gravel epic, a marathon, or a full-distance triathlon, CarbPlanner turns "I think I've got enough gels" into a plan you can trust.

Plan your fuel. Nail your hydration. Finish strong.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.22 — 2026-08-21

Now you can share a session with someone else.

• Send a link to a training partner and the session lands straight in their own planner. You choose what goes with it every time: name, length and the route only — or the whole setup with products, times and g/h.

• Share a plan you have just built as well as a session you have already done. The button is in the plan menu, in the calendar, in your history, and right after you finish a session.

• The barcode scanner holds still now and focuses by itself, so close-up codes are readable.

• The guide lets you answer "I do not know" to the question about carbs per hour.

• History and calendar scroll properly when they are full.

Thanks for using CarbPlanner. Feedback is welcome straight from the app.

### 1.21 — 2026-08-20

The share button after a finished session is bigger and easier to find.

• It takes up twice the space and now has colour, so it stands out the moment you want to show a session off.

• Share your session to Instagram and other apps through the iOS share sheet. The dedicated Instagram button has been removed.

• The session name on the share card is bigger and easier to read — both on the card itself and when you put the numbers over a photo.

### 1.20 — 2026-08-14

CarbPlanner now has a map!

• See the route with every gel and bottle placed where you actually take it. The question the app exists to answer — where on this course do I eat — finally has a picture.

• Draw a route by tapping points along the way. The line follows real roads and trails, and which ones depends on your sport: the road bike sticks to tarmac, the mountain bike to singletrack.

• Elevation is fetched for routes that arrive without it, so the plan knows about the climbs even when the file didn't.

• During the session the map shows where you are, and the marker on the elevation profile follows your GPS — you see where you are on the course, not where the plan expected you to be.

• Save the map offline before you head out, and export the route as GPX to your bike computer.

The fuel tab now shows carbs, fluid and sodium as three rings. They follow you as you scroll, so you always see what the plan covers.

The activity page has a plan row at the top: switch between your saved sessions, save a copy, or start over.

Ending a session asks first. The button sits next to pause, and a mistap mid-race could not be undone.

The carb, hydration and route cards have been rebuilt so the important things come first.

Fuelling follows the terrain more closely too: food lands before the climb instead of halfway up it, and a new bottle starts at the foot of it.

Thanks for using CarbPlanner. Feedback is welcome straight from the app.

### 1.11 — 2026-08-01

Two fixes from riding with it.

• Add a gel in the last quarter of a session and it now lands ahead of you with a reminder, instead of quietly slipping behind the current time. With ten minutes left, adding something can only mean "take it now" — so that is what it does.

• If a backup is found when you reinstall, CarbPlanner asks whether to restore it before the welcome screens, not after. You no longer set everything up only to replace it a minute later.

Thanks for using CarbPlanner. Send feedback any time from the app.

### 1.1 — 2026-07-30

This update makes it easier to get started — and to know how much you actually need.

• New welcome screens. See what the app does and how a plan comes together before you set your first number.

• Recommended carb range. Answer three short questions and the app suggests a range based on the research and the length of your session. It then reads how your sessions felt and moves the range accordingly. You can always drag the slider wherever you like.

• Share your session. Turn a session into a card and post it as a story or send it to a training partner.

• A guide through the app. A walk from planning to a live session that you can open again any time — find it under Show the guide again in your profile.

Thanks for using CarbPlanner. Send feedback any time from the app.
