## What is CarCast Player?

CarCast is a player and cast receiver that puts your own videos, playlists and self-hosted media server on your iPhone, with CarPlay audio in the car.

A fresh install of CarCast has no sources at all: everything it plays is something you added. CarCast only plays it — we don’t provide sources, don’t store them, and don’t recommend any. Before you add a source, make sure the rights are yours: either you own it, or you’re licensed to use it.

PLAY YOUR OWN SOURCES
• M3U / HLS playlists: paste one link or an entire config and CarCast works out what it is; if the address is in a QR code, just scan it
• Connect your self-hosted Jellyfin or Emby media server to browse libraries, pick episodes, and choose subtitles and audio tracks
• Import videos from Photos or the Files app
• Common formats play in the system player; formats it cannot play switch to the built-in VLC playback engine (open source, LGPL)

CARPLAY
• Browse channels, libraries and favorites with CarPlay lists and play them; the sound comes through the car

CAST RECEIVER
• CarCast can act as a DLNA cast receiver on your Wi‑Fi: tap Cast in another app that has a Cast button, choose CarCast, and the video plays in CarCast

PRIVACY
• No sign-up or login, no data collection, no ads
• Your server username and password live in this iPhone’s Keychain and go nowhere except the server you entered

Available in 16 languages: English, Simplified Chinese, Indonesian, Turkish, German, Italian, Japanese, French, Thai, Dutch, Portuguese (Portugal and Brazil), Spanish, Vietnamese, Malay and Arabic.
