### 4/5 — Good but room for improvement

*2026-05-24*

Great app in totality. Holds prices, decent price point for what the app offers, and the scanning saves tons of time. For 5 stars though, there should be a method when scanning decks into a collection to make sure foils are scanned as foils even if it’s just a checkbox. There also is an issue with certain sets (Japanese Strixhaven Mystical Archive) not being in the app when searched or scanned. Lastly there should definitely be an option to export decks on their own instead of just the entire collection.

### 3/5 — Current Update broke the scanner.

*2026-01-28, version 3.5.0*

I love using Card Binder to store my collection and search for cards. I have used for years now but the current update broke the scanner. It locks up after just a couple of cards and needs to be reset making imputing a new set take FOREVER!

A couple features that would be great. Would be the addition of filtering cards by sets, as well as the ability to add custom tags to cards that could be filtered.

### 4/5 — Scanner issues with update

*2026-01-25, version 3.5.0*

Great app and I use it all the time. Since the recent update, my scanner won’t pickup my camera and I’ve check permissions. I can still manually add them via set list, but that is quite cumbersome for multiple reasons.

### 2/5 — Needs Improvement

*2026-01-20*

Previous versions of the app scanner worked better. Now when the scanner fails to identify the card, the scanner must be closed and opened again. Then it works great, until it doesn’t. Sometimes I can scan a few cards in without a failure, other times it’s every single card. It makes it take forever to add cards into my library. Maybe add a capture button instead of constantly trying to scan? Like I said, scanner used to work better.

### 3/5 — Pay to play

*2026-01-14*

The interface is delightful, and the card organization is quite good. It also has accurate value ratings per card. However, when you first get the app you only get space for 100 cards (unique; duplicates don’t count) and you have to purchase more space after you fill that. It’s $.99 for 100, and $4.99 for 1000. Therefore if you have a large collection, such as 6000 cards, you’re spending about $30. It’s not totally insane for a trustworthy and functional card binder app, but it’s good to note before you download the app, that you should not choose it because it’s “free.” It’s not, unless your collection is only 100 cards, in which case you probably don’t need this app anyways. I would urge the app developers to lower their prices to a slightly more reasonable rate.

### 4/5 — Precon scan

*2026-01-10, version 3.4.4*

When scanning a precon and trying to use that as my scanned “commander deck” it’s flagging for 99 cards bc it’s not counting my commander. Just sat here for 2.5 hrs talking with chat gpt to try to figure out if I was missing anything or messing anything up but I’m not. When it shows how many of each card I have it totals to 100 but the app is just taking away 1 for commander. Is there anyway I could get help with this?

### 4/5 — Pretty decent

*2025-12-26, version 3.4.3*

I would advise to scan cards into your collection in small batches because it gets so boring at times. Only real criticism is needing to spend money for more collection size but it’s reasonably priced

### 2/5 — Fallo con edge of eternity

*2025-08-18, version 3.2.2*

No es capaz de leer las cartas en español de la colección edge of eternity

### 3/5 — Overall what I need

*2025-07-20*

Some things can help streamline adding my whole
Collection would be full card scanning, instead of attempting to sift through many different sets for a variety of cards.

Second, my wife and I share our collection. And as we are both active duty military being able to have this list accessible on both of our phones would be incredibly beneficial. Also, if I can’t log in, does that prevent me from seeing this list on any other devices?

### 4/5 — Great for tracking your collection

*2025-06-03, version 3.2.2*

Love this app, great for keeping track of your collection. I have struggled with the deck builder as I would like it to utilize the scan function to make it easier to save deck lists.

### 3/5 — Exported CSV files not compatible with other site

*2025-05-03*

I really love the scanning function and the ability to choose foil/nonfoil along with the way it shows all the card with that scanned name. And I love that you can look at the whole release of cards by their set. The search ui could use some work to not be so clunky. But right now, I am unable to export a csv file that can be read on either deckbox or moxfield, which is making this system useless for me.

**Developer response:** Hey, thanks for the feedback.
We are sorry to hear it doesn’t work for you. Exporting a csv file that is understood by every system is difficult, the only available solution is to take the export csv file and covert it using some kind of Excel or other tool. I know it’s not ideal but that is the only thing we have right now.

### 4/5 — Good App

*2025-04-24, version 3.2.1*

It is great for keeping your collection up to date. The export function could use some work. I have to manually manipulate the data before I can import it anywhere. Also, the is a bug right now with Dragon Storm. The app doesn’t recognize the cards as legal for some reason. I have 12,000 logged in the binder, so I obviously like it and am vested in it.

### 4/5 — Great UI but could use a few improvements

*2025-02-26*

I think this is a great app out of the box. I cataloged about 400 cards in the first week I had it. The scanning ability is great, but there are some clunky pieces to the UX that could use some improvement:

* after scanning a card, you should be able to directly add it to a pre-existing deck. Currently, you have to go into the deck, hit +, and then find your card. At scale it becomes tedious.
* after scanning some cards and adding a quantity, you can’t add them to a deck. This happened with my Gandalf the White card. Scanned, added qty, but when I try to add it to my deck, the app can’t find it. It’s listed in my cards though.
* the app needs bulk functionality. I should be able to scan 100 cards, bull select them all, and add them to a deck. Doing one at a time is the worst.
* most of the time the filtering doesn’t work. If I select “show only cards from today” all my cards still show.

**Developer response:** Hey, thanks for the feedback.
There is a small toogle at the bottom of the scan screen that will allow you to automatically add cards to the collection while scanning. If you enable that, it will let you choose a deck so you can also add cards to a deck automatically while scanning. 🙂

### 3/5 — Great app with an annoying problem

*2025-01-12, version 3.1.6*

The app works great but on iPad it’s a bit annoying that the camera doesn’t rotate properly when using the app in landscape mode. The camera remains in portrait mode just sideways which makes it more difficult than it has to be aligning the cards for the camera.

### 3/5 — Decent

*2024-12-08, version 3.1.5*

Good till you go to proper check of a lot of different basic lands. Gotta go hunt them down very time consuming because it could be in 4 different locations.

### 3/5 — Good but needs more

*2024-11-16, version 3.1.4*

This app is good but needs more adding to it definitely needs the ability to choose the store that you want the pricing to be collected from. Would also be great if you were able to list cards for sale directly from the app with those stores.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Cheeky Pricing

*2025-06-29, version 3.2.2*

First impression of the app was okay. But you can only store 100 cards before you have to pay for space. How much depends on how much space you need.

Considering this data is held on my own device, it’s really a bit cheeky.

I get it. Devs need to eat. I’ll pay for premium services if I need them. But paying to unlock more of my phone’s storage? No thanks.

### 1/5 — Bug

*2025-04-10, version 3.2.1*

L’appli bug et n’arrive pas à reconnaître la moitié des cartes

### 1/5 — Will Rob You

*2025-04-01, version 3.2.1*

It only allows you to catalog 100 cards for free, if you want to catalog more it asks for $5. I decided to spend the $5 and then it charged me $50.

### 1/5 — Fix it!

*2025-02-01, version 3.2.0*

App keeps crashing, none of the cards will load, and the scan tool makes the camera go pitch black. I don’t know what happened but this app went from great to useless. Either fix it or refund me the $50 I spent buying storage!

### 1/5 — Ne fonctionne plus

*2024-11-26, version 3.1.4*

Plus d’accès à la base de données depuis le 25 novembre. Donc impossible d’ajouter des cartes ou de consulter les éditions.
Corrections?

### 1/5 — Limitado demais

*2024-08-07, version 3.1.4*

Cabe pouquíssimas cartas gratuitamente

### 1/5 — You can only add a limited amount of cards

*2024-07-14, version 3.1.4*

I give it a 1 star as you can only add 100 cards for free. While normally I would be happy to pay to add more, the app only allows you to pay to add 1000 rather than unlimited. That is just scummy. Add ads instead but make people pay to remove them.

### 1/5 — No encuentra tierras básicas

*2024-06-24, version 3.1.4*

No encuentra las tierras básicas de Commander 2013 en español ni en inglés.
Llevo pocas cartas y empieza a tener problemas.

### 1/5 — Ridiculous Fee Structure

*2024-05-13, version 3.1.3*

It cost nothing to keep track of more cards. I understand the developer needs to have the app free in order to acquire users, but essentially charging users per row of data is the most asinine fee structure I’ve heard of.

### 1/5 — Do not purchase, charged $22 for a $0.99 purchase

*2024-03-15, version 3.1.2*

I thought this was a great app when I first started using it but once I used up my first 100 free card spots and went to buy another 100 for $0.99 it charged me $22. Contacted customer support multiple times with no response.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Muy buena app

*2025-10-29, version 3.2.2*

### 5/5 — Great for managing my collection

*2025-04-09, version 3.2.1*

Easy to use - effective

### 5/5 — No subscription = excellent

*2025-03-18*

This app is great! I wanted a simple card database that I could pay for and be done with it- I’m not interested in paying for a monthly/annual subscription that I might use sporadically.
The scan function works almost flawlessly-some issues with white color text on white cards, but an uncommon enough occurrence that adding them manually isn’t terrible.
If the dev is reading this, great job!
My only suggestion: cross device syncing- I don’t carry my iPad around as much as my phone. I used my iPad to scan the cards and to leaf through my collection at home. It would be nice to scan new purchases and have them populate across devices.

**Developer response:** Hey, thanks a lot for the feedback!
Just saying, if you have the same iCloud account in multiple devices, your collection will be automatically synced between devices!

### 5/5 — Good app

*2025-03-14, version 3.2.1*

Great app, however I’m noticing still alot of cards not getting picked up or scanned in, how often is the database being updated?
Paid for the extra 1000 slots 🫶🏻

### 5/5 — Muy buena

*2025-01-25, version 3.1.6*

De las mejores app de magic, muy completa y en español!!

### 5/5 — The app works

*2024-11-27*

This app is fine but it does take a long time to scan cards. I do enjoy having it though and I recommend it to anyone who wants to keep a digital binder of their cards. If there are better options out there it’s too late for me to get on board with those so it would be nice if the developers would optimize certain features like set recognition and scan speed.

**Developer response:** Hello, thanks for reporting.
I am so sorry to hear that. It was a problem that happened in version 3.1.4 but it is already fixed. You just need to update the app to the latest version using the AppStore. Version 3.1.5 won’t have the issue anymore.

### 5/5 — Technical Issues

*2024-11-26*

Not the perfect app but far, far better than most every other competitor. One suggestion to the developer would be adding the ability to filter cards in your collection by set (without viewing the entire set and toggling the “cards in/cards not in my collection” filter from the set view within the “See Cards By Set” search menu).

### 5/5 — Ideia para o app

*2024-10-20, version 3.1.4*

Podia ter uma IA para criar um deck inteligente a partir das cartas que você tem

### 5/5 — Amazing Card scanning

*2024-08-03, version 3.1.4*

This app works way better than TCG player for scanning cards, accurately, and quickly. The layout lets you easily select the printing of the card is visual and is way better than anything I’ve ever seen before
