### 1/5 — Does not work

*2019-08-20, version 1.0*

This app doesn’t work worth a crap. Skip it and MoveOn you’ll be better off

### 1/5 — Simply Bad Code

*2019-08-20, version 1.0*

While an app that says it isn’t perfect can’t exactly be argued against for working about as well as a broken clock, the one other thing I can say for or against it is that it’s written like an amateur UNIX/GNU command line program. You launch it, it puts up an image saying there’s a skimmer for shorter than you’d normally notice, then if it doesn’t detect a skimmer, it puts up another image saying it didn’t detect any, then to start over, you have to use the app switcher to force-quit the app and launch it again. If you’re going to write it like that, at least give the user a button to terminate it cleanly. The thing’s running in a sleep state the whole time you haven’t forced it to quit yet, with no purpose whatsoever. It’d be better to just go to Bluetooth settings as if you were going to pair a new device, and look for weird strings of numbers.

Proposal: Reassign the main function, write a new one that gives the user a simple menu. If they press the scan button, call the old main function. As for the old main function, replace the “Warning!”-as-default with a “scanning” screen, especially in case something freezes up for a moment and leaves that screen up for long enough to read it, but also to keep the program honest and transparent with the user. From the “scanning” screen, when it’s done looking, pop up a screen saying whether it detected a possible skimmer or not, and include a back button to go back to the main menu. This is stuff a kindergartener could do, so it’s the least you, a registered developer, could do before releasing to the public.

### 1/5 — Skimmer Locater

*2019-08-15, version 1.0*

It is supposed to show you where skimmers have been located but the only thing it does is shows “None Found”

### 1/5 — No interface

*2019-07-12*

Doesn’t have a refresh, Can’t tell if it is working.
As others have stated, it just shows the screen with a giant check mark saying no skimmers found.
No support from Raven, there website states under construction.

### 1/5 — A waste of data and time

*2019-04-04*

This app is not reading my wife account got hacked by a scimmer at a gas station. Also the app goes fast to say none found doesn’t mean there’s not one there. Also states that I need a app that tells me not a gimmick. Don’t waste your time with this app

### 1/5 — Dead App

*2019-03-19, version 1.0*

Doesn’t do anything! Just stays frozen in time! Waste of time!

### 1/5 — Samsung TV

*2019-01-29, version 1.0*

It’s detecting my tv as a card skimmer with Bluetooth on or off.

### 1/5 — Scam

*2018-06-06, version 1.0*

This app
Is a scam

### 1/5 — Great at false alarms

*2018-04-28, version 1.0*

Ran it from my living and identified my Bose Revolve speaker two rooms over and my Ring security camera at the back of my house as skimmers.

### 1/5 — What a joke!

*2018-04-08*

With Bluetooth enabled, this app isn’t able to recognize it and tells me to turn the Bluetooth on. Restarting app doesn’t help. Waste of space and time. It’s getting one star because I can’t choose a big, fat, well deserved ZERO!!

### 1/5 — Don’t bother with this app!

*2018-03-20*

A joke! Waste of my time. The app quickly showed a screen of no skimmer detection. It didn’t check to see if your Bluetooth is On or Off. Don’t waste your time with this app.

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2018-03-16, version 1.0*

I located a skimmer with an android app on a gas pump this app said was not detected.

### 1/5 — How would we know if it works?!

*2018-03-08*

There is no user interface, it just instantly shows a None Found image, no buttons to start a scan.

So to go from pump to pump requires closing and reopening the app?!

I’d guess it just shows the splash screen and doesn’t actually Do anything.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2024-08-27*

Gotta be fake reviews. I tried this on active card skimmers and it said none found. Even turned on other Bluetooth devices and still said none found. I’m not sure what it’s looking for but it 100% is useless.

### 1/5 — Check i!

*2022-09-24*

If you have anything blue tooth , turn it on and try this app. It won’t find it. It does not work at all.

### 1/5 — No longer works

*2022-04-29*

I used to love this app but now it keeps telling me I need to activate blue tooth even though it’s already on. Useless now.

### 1/5 — App copies from system clipboard on use!

*2020-10-09, version 1.0*

Do not use. App may be stealing clipboard contents including passwords and sensitive data.

### 1/5 — Quit working

*2020-09-26, version 1.0*

Used to work. Not anymore I get an error to turn on Bluetooth

### 1/5 — Doesn't work

*2020-05-10*

Keeps giving me an error message that I need to turn on my Bluetooth when it's already on.

### 1/5 — Scan check

*2020-05-01*

Now the app lost connection and says to turn Bluetooth on and it’s on, unable to use anymore

### 1/5 — Quit working

*2020-02-24*

All of a sudden the app show “turn on Bluetooth and restart app”. Bluetooth is always running and no restart works...turn off Bluetooth and turn back on, restart app, nothing. Restart app, nothing... Please fix this! It was valuable before, useless now!

### 1/5 — Needs work

*2020-01-30*

With nothing found even with Bluetooth not on. Way too fast determination of nothing found.

Tried it for a week. Deleted.

### 1/5 — Not sure it does anything

*2019-09-03*

When i first got the app, it detected thebt radio in my tv, so it worked then. Now it pops up instantly without the delay needed for bluetooth to do a scan, so im pretty sure it does nothing now

### 5/5 — Works Great!

*2020-03-03*

A year or so ago, when I had my number skimmed, I made a list of every monthly payment my card makes and apps where my number is stored (food, travel, etc) so that it wouldn’t be as difficult to set everything back up, should it happen again. I was glad I did, because it was skimmed twice in less than a month recently. Since I use my card to earn flight points, my number is stored for THIRTY-SEVEN monthly payments and apps. And since I drive for a living, I’m kind of a sitting duck for thieves at gas pumps. This app works like a dream. It instantly finds my 2nd phone every time I open it, and I’ve already found a gas pump with a possible skimmer. Having to open the app at every pump is well worth not having to set up a new card for 37 different things, and it’s still faster and safer than going inside and having to leave my card as a “deposit” to turn the pump on (unsafe af) or setting the pump at a certain amount which may not fill my truck all the way up, and if I overshoot the amount, having to be refunded the difference, which is also a bit sketchy. Bottom line: very, very worth it.

### 5/5 — It scans Bluetooth

*2019-10-04*

For people staying this scans skimmers in their houses don’t know how this works. This app checks to see if there is a Bluetooth signal coming from the area you are checking as skimmers use Bluetooth so the criminals can keep the skimmers in place and just get the data from the device. You dummies are finding Bluetooth signals in your house not skimmers. This is a great tool for trying to locate the signal that the skimmers are transmitting.

### 5/5 — Wow! Saved me!!

*2019-02-10*

I was at a gas station in Texas, 3 am. 4 cars there. Used this app and bang! Skimmer present. I moved to a further away pump no skimmer. Told manager. Security cams showed car and police got them. Busted. I got 100% effective protection. Well done!

### 4/5 — Seems to be working well

*2020-11-12*

After my card being scammed at a car wash last year, I found this app. I have been using it for several months. It hasn’t shown any activity, but I haven’t had a problem either.

### 4/5 — Baffled

*2019-09-16*

I’ve had the app for quite some time now. I use before pumping gas always and haven’t found a skimmer yet which is good. However, out of curiosity I used it at home one day, and got a hit showing both of my Samsung TV’s as skimmers. Does anyone know why that might be?

### 3/5 — Confused

*2024-05-19*

Sometimes when I open my app around Bluetooth, it says that a scammer was found, but then it goes right back to the screen of saying a SKIMMER was not found. Now I know this app picks up Bluetooth devices, but I’m confused if I’m actually picking up a skimmer because it goes to the “not found” screen , right after it says a skimmer was found. Can someone help me out?

### 3/5 — Found one

*2018-07-10*

Used this today at 7-11 in Leander Tx. 1st pump I went to showed skimmer. Went to another and found it clear. A little inconvenient having to close the app each time.
