Drops tracking in middle of trips because of heavy traffic. completing trip legs dropped are difficult. Searches look at other countries (why?) No desktop or browser app. Sucks!! ### 2/5 — App is kindof garbage *2025-09-04, version 4.10.1* The program itself is excellent. But the app leaves a lot to be desired. First of all there is no CarPlay access. That defies logic. Auto tracking is pretty much useless if you’re using your personal vehicle because then you’ll have to filter everything. And finally, if there is a blocker such as insurance, there is no notification or even a mention of it on the dashboard. ### 2/5 — Not User Friendly *2025-03-20, version 4.4.2876* Adding trips manually is cumbersome. The location search feature does not work effectively. Automatic tracking doesn’t always work. Need to check your mileage with odometer every time. If I forget to mark a day as a business trip or a personal trip, I can always do that before the end of the month and I will get the credit I deserve for the business miles. Notice talks about connecting to your unique advertising ID number. There’s several privacy buttons you have to turn off, including one that seems to say. It will launch the app and start tracking you. Just based on the velocity of your phone. It also includes serving you ads. They claim they’re not selling your data in the introduction. QA, but in the privacy. Notice. It says they’re anonymous in your data and sharing it. ### 1/5 — Worst App Ever *2025-06-04, version 4.8* This is honestly the worst app I’ve ever had to use. I only use it because I am forced to by my company. It causes me to lose money every month. It is always shutting off. You have to keep your battery saver turned off. It’s even so bad that one of the people in HR at my company said one day that they wondered whose kid worked for Cardata because there must have been some kind of deal struck for our company to be using an app that’s so bad. I’ve considered finding another company to work for that doesn’t require me to use it. Run far away! ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work. Doesn’t track *2025-02-06, version 4.4.2876* Trips constantly drop, the app frequently crashes and uses an insane amount of battery life. Doesn’t actually save me any time in my day ### 1/5 — Nothing Good *2025-02-01, version 4.4.2876* There is very little good about this app. The main kicker is that you have to keep location services turned on at all times for it to work properly, drastically reducing your battery life. The app itself is glitchy. When trying to add a trip manually every selection requires you to hit it twice. Uploading insurance is a pain and you’re not sure you’ve done it right until they tell you later. This is the worst app I have on my phone and I would delete it immediately if I wasn’t required to use it. ### 1/5 — Very Inconsistent *2024-12-15, version 4.4.2787* This app doesn’t work well. It will track me one way, but not back my trip back. I usually have to manually enter my trips so I can ensure it calculates mileage correctly. Now with this latest update, you cannot go back and edit trips after they are entered. I also do not like how it drains my battery on my phone so quickly. Leaving it on tracking mode will leave you a dead battery in a few short hours. I wish we would go back to our previous provider. ### 1/5 — DOESN’T TRACK MILEAGE *2024-06-13* A mileage tracking app that…. DOESN’T TRACK MILEAGE. I just wish these huge companies that use this app would wash their hands of it and let them tank. They release an “update” every few days it seems but it never works. I’ve lost out on THOUSANDS of dollars in mileage over the course of the last 3 years because the FORTUNE 100 company I work for refuses to use any other app. The one we had before worked flawlessly but we now use this one and give it change after chance after chance. If you’re considering getting this app for your business… DONT. ### 1/5 — Terrible App *2024-05-23* This app is extremely frustrating. It hardly ever records my trips automatically, forcing me to input everything manually for the past month and a half. Thank you for your patience and for bringing this to our attention. ### 1/5 — Anything but CarData *2024-05-13* I have used mileage trackers for years and I love them. They are - usually - so much better than a paper log that gets ratty in your car over the month. That being said… A messy paper log with spilled coffee getting crumpled up in my car over the month would be a vast improvement over this app. Let’s go back to an abacus, light years ahead of this app. I had to get a new phone because it killed the battery of my previous phone which worked just fine with 2 other mileage apps. My new phone continues to get so hot while tracking mileage that the electronics in my car’s entertainment system shut down and completely reboot at least once a trip. AND It is tracking you ALL the time, it doesn’t matter if you put the parameters in for your work hours it continues to track you 24 hours a day, seven days a week - running down your battery and killing the life of your phone. My hours are M-F 7-7 and it tracked me on a boat in the Atlantic Ocean one Saturday. I have to take a charger on the boat with me or remove the app from my phone every weekend and remember to put it back on every Monday. And we’re just getting started, because then the software designers made me get on a call and explain to them what I was using my phone for other than mileage tracking, they wanted a list of the apps I use while I’m working because they can’t figure out what’s wrong with it either. I’m not running an OnlyFans site while I’m driving down the interstate trying to do my job. I listen to audiobooks or podcasts, I do email and use the GPS. This app and the employees at CarData are invasive and ask questions that are frankly none of their business -they are an HR lawsuit just waiting to happen. This is the most invasive and useless piece of software I have ever come across. Unfortunately, I am locked in because my company chose to use them. I have heard from multiple people that this will be changing as soon as the contract is up. As I’m sure all companies who have had the unfortunate experience of working with CarData will do as well. Thank you for your patience. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t deserve a single star *2024-05-13* My company is going on just about a year since we have switched over to Cardata, and still have the same issues that they claim will be resolved with every update. This app is horribly unreliable. Breaks trips up, randomly doesn’t track, and when it actually does track, the mileage is usually inaccurate and shorts you. I spend more time manually entering trips and modifying mileage to match my odometer than anybody should be for an app that claims will make your life easier. Support just tells you to uninstall and reinstall the app, which sometimes works but most of the time does not. At best is a temporary fix, and sometimes only works for one trip. The grass is definitely not greener — too bad the management that makes the decisions to use this company didn’t do any research before jumping.
