No one likes paying for educational tools. Quizlet's paywalling harms thousands of students by taking away a valuable study resource. Hence, cardFlash is completely FREE! My mission with cardFlash is to provide everyone with equal access to the tools to be successful in whatever educational they pursue. A simple, clean flashcard app to help you learn what you need to learn. cardFlash will ALWAYS remain completely free and without ads (because ads suck). cardFlash makes studying for that French or Spanish test super easy! If your teacher has a set on Quizlet, you are able to quickly to import it in to cardFlash. Otherwise, you can also easily create a brand new set inside of cardFlash. Once you have your set, you can either choose to study with Flashcard Mode or Adaptive Mode. Flashcard mode allows you to go through the set just as if you had physical flashcards. Adaptive mode tests you with multiple choice and writing questions to help you learn the terms. Adaptive mode will guarantee that you know your stuff, the algorithm won't let you move past a term till you can get it right many times in a row. Adaptive mode is also super customizable, with its settings page that allows you to tweak everything about of the algorithm to best suit you. Consequently, it is pretty basic: you can’t colour code and you can’t set a default font size but a small price to pay considering it’s a free app! It’s supposedly possible to use a QR code to share your cards but I can’t seem to work out how that works. I’ve downloaded the app onto several devices so it would be nice to have all the cards on all of them. I’m old so it’s probably me rather than the app. In addition to the flash cards, it generates a 4-option MCQ set which is very helpful at reinforcing knowledge. It is also possible to write responses, which is very handy for learning new languages. I couldn’t seem to do that initially as no keyboard appears when you tap where you should write your response.You need to press on the screen longer and the keyboard appears. So, for me, it does what I need with no hassle or interruptions. Update: I’ve now run into problems, the app won’t save any new card sets for some reason. I’ve completed nearly 400 cards and still haven’t worked out how to get the QR code function to work so I’m faced with the prospect of having to start again with another app unless this is a temporary glitch that will sort itself out.
