### 3/5 — Some gripes

*2024-09-06*

The game so far is fairly enjoyable. A few things frustrating for a new player-

-The gold bordered cards, needed to complete all strategies, are too low of a pull rate, and too far away in crystals for me to play enough games with non optimal decks to save up for them. I don’t even want to spend money- the goalpost is too far away.

-I played draft once, and will never do it again. Undead are too overpowered in draft, and it shocks me that this made it past playtesting in draft.

### 3/5 — Crashes

*2024-08-22, version 2.0.160*

Game crashes during the tutorial.

### 2/5 — Bugged

*2024-08-21, version 2.0.160*

Can’t even play past the third tutorial battle crashes every time.

### 3/5 — It has potential

*2024-06-21*

The update killed your ability to get craft shards
(only way to craft cards you don’t have). It stars off really good but than you see that if you don’t have the meta cards you will not see the top. Even hearthstone let you breakdown cards you didn’t want to craft other cards. This game makes you have a full collection then you can break the card down. Kinda defeats the purpose of breaking them down if you ask me.

### 3/5 — Invalid deck

*2024-05-26, version 2.0.115*

Why is every deck I make invalid, can you please explain instead of just saying deck invalid, how is it invalid I don’t understand.

### 4/5 — good

*2024-04-26, version 2.0.19*

the map needs more spaces, gameplay feels very limited by the battlefield. after playing a while and the free stuff trickling slowly away, i gotta say this game is $$$$. good tho

### 4/5 — Jogo parece ser muito bom porém sem tradução PT Br não da pra entender nada kkk

*2024-04-18*

Kk

### 2/5 — First game was better

*2024-04-17, version 2.0.2*

I really enjoyed the first game but the mechanics of the second game, specifically the card drawing, deck size, and sudden death are really bad.

### 5/5 — Fun game

*2024-04-11, version 1.2.106*

I like it

### 1/5 — Absolutely unacceptable.

*2024-04-10, version 1.2.104*

They, in a single update that fundamentally changed the function of the game, have destroyed any originality or fun this game had. All strategy is gone, and it’s exactly the same meta building cash grabbing garbage as every other card game. Instead of having players adapt, they adapted to players and it’s basically dead as I write this. Whales and bots are all you will find.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Broken

*2025-09-19, version 2.0.196*

Game is currently broken, says match starts but won’t go into it please fix

### 1/5 — game is trash

*2025-08-28, version 2.0.196*

not worth downloading, only 10 losers online

### 1/5 — Game VS Community

*2025-07-12, version 2.0.180*

Player base is small so people recognize each other often. If it wasn’t for the blatant racism in chat with no way of reporting it then the game would be good. N words get dropped constantly in chat, I’ve taken screenshots in case the devs ever decide to actually do something about it.

### 1/5 — Bug

*2024-09-29, version 2.0.171*

Cards that destroy cards and should ignore death effects are bugged against last will cards. Last will cards are still triggering when using things like soul destroy.

### 1/5 — Not new player friendly

*2024-09-25*

-The game pairs any 2 players who are available rather than by rank. When there are hardly any new players in the game, you will be paired with long-time players.

-You are given a grace period of playing bots for your first 20 or so games.

-The players have many legendary cards, and Legendary cards can win games nearly on their own.

-I have opened only a couple legendary cards in a month and a half, with very aggressive new player rewards.

-Right now it takes 44 booster packs to get enough crystals to make a legendary. I will have opened maybe 2 Legendaries in those 2 packs.

-In order to be competitive with decks in all aspects, I will need to spend hundreds of dollars, or continue to lose the majority of my games for at least 6 months

-The above de-incentivizes new players who just discovered this game form buying in. Micro transactions have no payoff, and large investments for digital cards is more than most players want to do. Dev needs to work harder on providing a fun path for new players to enjoy the game.

### 1/5 — Worst decision in gaming history

*2024-09-24, version 2.0.171*

I loved C&C1, and you killed it. You killed it, and you spent 3 years developing this trash.

### 1/5 — Not new player friendly

*2024-09-17*

Matchmaking in this game is a joke. As a newer player, every opponent I’m playing against has multiple legendaries that can turn the tide on any advantage I create. I’m losing solely by card pool, but legendaries are wayyy too hard to earn. What is my incentive as a new player to keep playing? Am I expected to win 10% of the time for years until I grind out the OP cards?

Yeah really losing interest here.

### 1/5 — Greedy Devs

*2024-07-26*

Battlepass was originally promised to give you enough currency to buy the next one with said earned currency. Now you can’t do that and they expect you to dish out $20 every time the next battlepass drops. They also nerfed refunding extra cards in order to pressure you to dish out even more money just to get the good cards. So most of the legendaries are stuck behind a large paywall instead of being able to earn them. I’m okay with spending a little money on a free game but if the devs continue too be this greedy it’s better just to play a different game.

### 1/5 — App won’t load

*2024-05-25, version 2.0.115*

The game is stuck on the red team games screen

### 1/5 — All I play is bots?

*2024-05-21, version 2.0.115*

Dead game?

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Og

*2026-04-06, version 2.0.202*

So this game is definitely dying. But i still actaully find more active players on this than in cards and castles ultimate. And this game is just og and way better that cards and castles ultimate. Gameplay, art, vibes. Definitely worth playing but I wish this game was maide better instead of them making the ultimate version. And that the game wasn’t so dead in 2026. Not that you can’t get a game.there will just be like 1 full lobby at a time and matching is hard.

### 5/5 — Easy uptake

*2025-07-26*

Game is extremely easy to enjoy after long work days due to the recipe system taking away huge time consuming chunks. Good Game. great design for your more standard person not looking to sweat to enjoy it.

### 5/5 — great game

*2025-07-26, version 2.0.180*

deserves mire recognition

### 5/5 — Awesome game!

*2025-04-19, version 2.0.180*

Cards 2 is a creative mix of battle ccg and board game. The deck building menu is intuitive and smooth. Most importantly, it’s fun! Also, no ads! That’s always a huge plus.

### 5/5 — Amazing Game

*2024-10-13, version 2.0.171*

This is one of the few games I can play without getting bored after a while. It’s fun and engaging, having different decks I can use each time is really nice. A fantastic game all round!

### 5/5 — AWESOME!

*2024-07-27, version 2.0.152*

I’m very glad I checked this game out, it has fun interactive gameplay and a good time waster. The competitive play is also exciting, just wondering, do PC and mobile players have crossplay?

### 5/5 — Good game

*2024-07-03*

The game is really fun and engaging, the only things I would recommend is to make guardian units be able to protect buildings from all spells until the guardian unit is destroyed. Also please make some of the units look more like the image on the card, that’d be cool.

### 5/5 — Yep

*2024-06-13, version 2.0.144*

This is what I’ve been looking for! Card game meets tactics battles… it’s a great free game.

### 5/5 — Not like original, more strategy

*2024-05-30*

I enjoyed the original and uninstalled this one about 5 minutes after the tutorial ended. All my favorite cards from C&C 1 were now weak, they took out a lot of what made the old game fun (and annoying), it just didn’t feel like a sequel. However, the changes they made allow for more strategy and less raging. There are more ‘op’ cards which makes getting annoyed more pointless (cuz you’d have to hate like half of the cards) and strategy is encouraged because really good cards alone are no longer enough to win. Freedom of chat enables more toxicity but I find them to be less toxic than C&C1 (the kind of people who like this game are just less likely to be so in m experience). Good.

### 5/5 — Fun, Skill-Intensive, F2P Friendly

*2024-05-07*

And yet, despite those things, it doesn’t feel like very many people play this. Queue times for draft when you have a good record are very long, and likewise constructed matches at high ranks can be hard to find. More people need to know about this game. It’s well-designed, F2P friendly (especially if you’re good at draft) and reminds me a lot of Duelyst back in the day. Give it a go!
