## What is Care Cairn?

Care Cairn gives families and trusted helpers a calm place to coordinate the practical details of a household. Record what happened, name who follows up, check recurring routines, and prepare for appointments or family visits without creating an account.

START WITH A CONTINUITY BRIEF
- See open follow-ups, today's routine, supply checkpoints, and the next runbook at a glance.
- Start and close a handoff shift with an opening note and closing summary.
- Keep the current day readable on iPhone and in a dedicated iPad workspace.

MAKE HANDOFFS ACCOUNTABLE
- Record factual entries for meals, activities, household notes, supplies, and communication.
- Assign the next owner, add a due date, pin important items, and resolve completed follow-ups.
- Search and filter the ledger, then inspect a chronological continuity timeline.

BUILD REPEATABLE ROUTINES
- Create recurring household steps for selected weekdays and time windows.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Workspace records are stored in an AES-GCM encrypted archive on the device, protected by a device-only Keychain key. Care Cairn has no account, ads, tracking, analytics SDK, subscription, in-app purchase, or developer-operated backend. Data leaves the app only when you choose an export destination.

Care Cairn is a non-clinical household organizer. It records and summarizes facts entered by the user. It does not calculate medication amounts, interpret health readings, diagnose, treat, monitor a medical condition, contact emergency services, or replace current professional instructions.

### 1.6 — 2026-08-22

Care Cairn 1.6 is a complete continuity-workspace rebuild. Coordinate accountable handoffs, recurring household routines, visit runbooks, and supply checkpoints from a new adaptive iPhone and iPad interface. The update also adds an encrypted local ledger, PDF/text/CSV exports, JSON backup and restore, a continuity audit timeline, and clearer non-clinical product boundaries.

### 1.5 — 2026-08-13

Version 1.5 makes Care Cairn's safety boundaries and methods easy to inspect. Open Safety & Sources from Info to review how trend averages, dose checklists, and refill reminders work; follow public caregiver sources; or open the privacy and support pages. Trend cards now label arithmetic summaries as entry averages, and every checklist explains that it mirrors user-entered label or care-plan details. Fresh sample medication records are clearly synthetic and contain no dosage advice.

### 1.4 — 2026-07-11

New in 1.4: a Today's Doses checklist. Tap each scheduled dose to mark it given, see how many are left at a glance on the Today screen, and review the last seven days at a shift change. Your dose status now also appears in the text summary and printable handoff packet, so the next helper knows exactly what has been given. The blood pressure trend now charts systolic and diastolic together, and dark mode is easier to read throughout.

### 1.3 — 2026-06-23

Care Cairn now helps you watch how things are trending, not just write them down. The new Trends tab lets you log simple at-home observations — weight, blood pressure, blood sugar, heart rate, temperature, a comfort rating, or a quick note — and see each one charted over time so a relief caregiver can pick up where you left off.

Turn on daily care reminders to get a heads-up the morning a care note is due and a few days before an active medication needs a refill. You choose the lead time, and everything is scheduled privately on your device.

Back up everything to one file. Save your care notes, emergency card, medications, and observation log as a single JSON file you can keep safe, move to a new phone, or restore later. As always, Care Cairn stays fully offline with no account, no ads, and no analytics, and it is a personal-organization app for families — not a medical device.

### 1.2 — 2026-06-19

What's New - Care Cairn 1.2

Version 1.2 turns Care Cairn from a care-note log into a real family-care
handoff kit, with the structured information caregivers are always told to keep
ready.

New in 1.2

- Emergency card. A structured "in case of emergency" screen for the care
  recipient: name, date of birth, blood type, conditions, allergies, emergency
  contacts, insurance, pharmacy, and physician - with a completeness meter that
  nudges you to finish it.

- Medication list. Track each medication with its dose, purpose, prescriber,
  and refill date. Mark medications active or inactive, edit them anytime, and
  swipe to delete.

- Daily medication schedule. Assign each medication to morning, noon,
  evening, bedtime, or "as needed," and Care Cairn builds a clean top-to-bottom
  daily schedule so a relief caregiver knows what to give and when.

- Refill watchlist. Active medications with a refill date in the next week
  surface automatically on the new Care tab, with overdue refills listed first.

- Printable PDF handoff packet. Generate a formatted, multi-page PDF that
  combines the emergency card, the medication list and daily schedule, and your
  upcoming care notes - ready to print, AirDrop, or attach to a hospital intake.
  The plain-text summary export now includes the emergency-card and medication
  sections too.

Care Cairn remains fully offline with no account, no ads, and no analytics.
It is a personal-organization app for families, not a medical device: it does
not diagnose, treat, monitor, or check drug interactions.
