## What is C.A.R.E. SimPace?

C.A.R.E. SimPace is a two-device training simulator for temporary transcutaneous and transvenous pacemaker management — built for nursing, paramedic, and critical care education.

HOW IT WORKS
Pair two devices over your local network: an iPad becomes the bedside — a realistic vitals monitor with live ECG and pleth waveforms, paired with a full-function pacemaker generator (rate, output, sensitivity, AV delay, mode selection). An iPhone becomes the instructor console, where you load scenarios, set the underlying rhythm, and inject faults in real time.

REALISTIC SCENARIOS
- Failure to Capture — spikes with no response; learners must increase output
- Undersensing — the pacer competes with the native rhythm; learners must adjust sensitivity
- R-on-T → V-Fib Arrest — an unsensed spike lands on the T wave, inducing V-Fib if not caught in time
- Baseline Competency — set up DDD pacing correctly on a post-op 3° AV block
- Atrial Flutter — RAP — terminate re-entrant flutter with rapid atrial burst pacing

A live physiology engine drives every rhythm — normal sinus, sinus bradycardia, 3° AV block, junctional, atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, V-tach, V-fib, and asystole — with clinically accurate capture thresholds, sensing behavior, and alarm conditions.

BUILT FOR THE CLASSROOM
Instructors get full live control: load a scenario, watch the learner respond in real time, and inject faults (failure to capture, undersensing, oversensing, lead fracture, battery depletion, loss of output, runaway pacemaker, PMT) on demand. An event log timestamps every action for debrief.

Works solo on a single device too — no pairing required to practice independently.

Training simulator only — not a medical device. All patient data is synthetic.
