### 2/5 — Annoying

*2026-08-26, version 24.60*

It has happened to me twice now that my account is under review for multiple days pending approval when I’ve had an account for years and I miss out on multiple clients because they find someone else because I can’t reply

### 2/5 — Inconvenient more than helpful

*2026-08-25, version 24.60*

I love this app but the layout is so ridiculous and inconvenient. For every post you go to, when you go back, it brings you right back to the beginning. Then I have to find out where I left off, every single time.

### 2/5 — Awful customer support

*2026-08-25, version 24.60*

Private medical information of mine was shared by one of their families and they closed my account because of it. Parents don’t want to pay you over the table horrible experience all around Nannie’s beware!!

### 4/5 — There could be a few improvements.

*2026-08-21, version 24.60*

Parents looking for a suitable caregiver should be required to send notice if someone else is selected in a timely manner. I’ve applied to about 50 or more opportunities before I was chosen over a span of 2 months… Majority of them I heard nothing back. The in app message reminder has been a game changer. I would like to see maybe short videos as icebreaker to how families are just to get a feel for compatibility for Nanny’s. A reminder to do a review for a job completed would help boost a Nanny’s visibility as well.

### 3/5 — Good app with a lot of UI frustration

*2026-08-18, version 24.59*

I want to love this app, but the user interface leaves a lot to be desired. I really struggle with getting all the job info in one place and managing the jobs I do or don’t want to see, seeing accurate rates and dates, etc. I get frustrated enough to give up and close the app almost every time I use it. That said, there are a ton of jobs listed in the area where I live, so it is still an excellent resource.

### 4/5 — My best clients come from Care

*2026-08-16, version 24.59*

I am very grateful to this app for connecting me with some really wonderful clients. The only reason it isn’t getting 5 stars from me is it doesn’t allow me to adjust where i am showing up (geographically) in searches. It only allows you to set a mile radius from my existing location rather than selecting zip codes or just a general direction of where my target audience is (mainly due to travel from existing clients’ homes)

Overall, it is the best experience i have had getting the type of jobs I am specifically looking for compared to other similar apps.

### 3/5 — Prices change way too often

*2026-08-15, version 24.59*

^^

### 2/5 — garbage app

*2026-08-10, version 24.58*

Charging service providers for background checks then charging the customers to access the background check information is gauging. I paid for a background check but don’t have access to it. In addition, providers have difficulty finding jobs that meet their needs because search features don’t work. Customers message providers and service providers can’t see the job listing. When you click a job to read details, when you exit you don’t have the option to remove the listing from your prospective matches. You spend all your time reading the same five jobs that you are not a good match for. Don’t waste your money on this app find a sitter co-op in your area.

### 4/5 — A Needed Adjustment

*2026-08-10, version 24.58*

Great app EXCEPT there is no way to continue searching and applying for jobs from the point where you left off. You have to go back to the beginning and scroll to the last job you looked at and it’s impossible to know where that is

### 1/5 — Makes canceling of subscription very difficult

*2026-08-08, version 24.58*

This company has zero customer service and purposely makes it very difficult to cancel any subscription or account. It should be banned from the App Store.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Poorly run

*2026-08-23, version 24.60*

I am a long time care.com caregiver (7+ years) and hate this app. It’s been glitchy for ever and still is and the company has decided to stop developing their desktop site and make it unusable for booking, browsing etc. This is lazy, but also just a bad move because the app doesn’t work well. I have to shut down and reopen the app to receive messages for which I’ve already seen email notifications for. Trying to use more than one feature of the app makes the whole thing crash. Super disappointing.

### 1/5 — Terrible Premium Service DO NOT SUBSCRIBE

*2026-08-19, version 24.59*

I subscribed for premium service membership as a caregiver and paid thru APPLE PAY and a debit card. 3 days pass they have my transaction on hold and membership still stuck on GUEST tier. I called customer service twice and are incapable of doing anything nor they cannot refer me to Tier 2 billing which my Bank has told me to have me referred to. Their customer support is ZERO stars and agents are not able to refer you to someone who can resolve the problem. Absolutely FLABBERGASTED by POOR SERVICE and they said that I need to wait 24 to 48 hours for someone to “reach” me about this problem. That is one hour DELAYED and is an INJUSTICE to those who have paid for their services. They punish customers by being INEPT! Terrible!

### 1/5 — It’s like Tinder… For Care

*2026-08-17*

As a recipient, I find this service very frustrating. Yes, it works for people needing a babysitter or senior care, or tutors. But m fall into a category that they don’t even have. I am a person with a spinal cord injury. That takes a very different kind of care than the other categories offer. But the problem is that all of these caregivers don’t understand that and 95% of them don’t even read the profile. I have a caregiver that is in the service and she showed me the interface. It’s exactly like Tinder. You swipe to see somebody and you don’t need to look at anything, but hit the button to say that you’re interested. They don’t look at the hours, they don’t look at the description, they don’t look at the requirements so, I get a lot of people that are in their 60s and 70s thinking that they can lift a 160 pound male. I get a lot of people that want an 8 to 5 job but I need someone here early in the morning and someone late at night. 70% of the time they don’t respond after first saying they’re interested. I have to list my profile in the senior care or adult care or special needs. None of those really take into account my needs. If someone saw that there was a spinal cord injury category, then they would understand what kind of care might be involved. This app is like gambling because I keep hoping that one of the people that is interested in my job will fit my qualifications. But it never happens.

### 1/5 — Great îgreatl

*2026-08-16, version 24.59*

200 percent. I love this site it’s great I give it 1 million stars rating

### 1/5 — Acting like pro’s will work for nothing

*2026-08-16, version 24.59*

From $17/hr. That is a joke!!! I can work at McDonald’s for $20. Why would I break my back for anything less than $35/hr. Please step up the reality of what the cost is to have a housekeeper.

### 1/5 — Scammers

*2026-08-15, version 24.59*

If I could give 0 stars I would. I am just trying to look for a job in the meantime my seasonal job as a Camp Manager is done. I want to work more with kids to understand their behaviors to help me with my Camp Manager position. I have done a background screening already for my job so I know everything is good. I also know I have never done anything bad. They robbed my money and didn’t let me get an account. I literally have CPR training and 3+ years of working with kids. I am also going to take a child development class in college. They suck and robbed a college student just trying to make ends meet. Those were my last 24 dollars because I thought I was going to make more money. Don’t apply. They’ll just steal your money.

### 1/5 — notifications have never worked!

*2026-08-15, version 24.59*

app notifications have never worked for me in the 10+ years i’ve had the app. messages, job opportunities, responses… i have to open the app and check manually because i can’t rely on notifications at all. in-app notifications are extremely glitchy and unreliable as well. and emails are spotty at best! after a decade, this really should have been fixed. it’s especially frustrating for a childcare app where responding quickly can actually matter.

### 1/5 — Sucks!!!

*2026-08-14, version 24.58*

It always tells me new jobs posted but you never see them ever!!!!!! I keep searching and nothing ever!!

### 1/5 — App Log In Broken

*2026-08-13, version 24.58*

I have been receiving notifications from families look to possibly work with me. HOWEVER the app will not let me log in and gives an error message after updating and reinstalling.

### 1/5 — Care.com Is No Longer Effectively Matching Families and Caregivers

*2026-08-11, version 24.58*

I have used Care.com successfully for many years and historically considered it the best resource for finding professional childcare positions. Unfortunately, my experience with the platform today is dramatically different.

I have 20+ years of professional childcare experience, two relevant bachelor’s degrees, and extensive experience as a nanny, early childhood educator and household manager. In the past, I could apply to 20–30 appropriate positions, hear back from a significant percentage of families, and generally find a great position quickly. During my current search, I have applied to 100+ positions over several months and received responses from only a handful.

The problem appears to affect families too. A family I recently interviewed with told me they received approximately 50 applicants, many of whom did not meet the qualifications they were seeking. They wanted specific professional experience and relevant education, yet ultimately had to use ChatGPT to help sort their Care.com applicants because the platform did not give them adequate tools to efficiently identify candidates matching those criteria.

Meanwhile, caregivers are now being offered $2.99 paid “Boosts” for individual applications. For someone conducting a serious job search, boosting 100 applications would cost nearly $300 on top of other membership costs. Care should also clearly explain how Premium and Boosts affect where applications actually appear.

Care.com needs better qualification-based matching, stronger filtering and sorting tools for families, and greater transparency about how applications are ranked. Families shouldn’t have to sift manually through dozens of poorly matched candidates, and qualified caregivers shouldn’t feel they need to pay per application simply to be seen.

I genuinely want Care.com to improve because it was an excellent resource for me for many years. The current system seems to be making it harder for both sides of the marketplace to find one another.
