## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not very good

*2025-01-05*

no AI features

**Developer response:** We use AI across multiple sections of the app, including task content, job recommendations, AI chat, and tools like resume checker & interview prep. Which AI features were you looking for? We'd love your feedback!

### 1/5 — Lacking

*2024-10-21*

The platform is finicky

### 2/5 — No Free Option

*2025-01-16*

You have to pay to even use the app. I completed a little quiz they had just for it to say you have to pay.

**Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback! We just released our freemium version! Please update your app to the latest version to start using it. Let us know if you have any questions!

### 2/5 — As much AI here as a grandfather clock

*2024-07-27*

And we all know that even a broken clock is right twice a day, right?

Was looking for something different than my current job of IT management and database programming and so I loaded up my linkedin profile and what I got was just more of the same:
“Explore Data Engineering!”
“No thanks.”
“Explore Tech Product Management!”
“No thanks.” “Explore Network Administration!
“Time to delete this app…”

Where were any questions about interests or hobbies or even - wait for it - putting my tech skills to use in more non-tech industries such as Arts, Film, Music, etc.?

How about key terms that I’d like to avoid in my next/ideal job?

If you’ve been a chef for 20 yrs and you want a change to something not culinary, this app will recommend you to explore Short order Cook, Pastry Chef, and Cake Decorator!

This app seems to work more off of keyword searching than any real AI. You’d be better off job hunting around linkedin or indeed.

Finally, a glitch note - after I got to the “Explore this Pathway” area, hitting the back arrow to change the industry filter resulted in a “no data found” error after reselecting options.

### 5/5 — Where has this been

*2024-08-06*

I love this app! I've always struggled to know which jobs were the best fit for me. CareerGenie gave me an easy to use guide for finding opportunities in business development and helps me get ready. Excited to see where I can land!

### 5/5 — Explorative and Progressive

*2024-08-02*

I love the direction of this app.

Gen X family of mine whom only known a handful of jobs climbing the corporate ladder of companies in Machinery & Manufacturing finally have a chance to see where else their skills can take them.

In the future, I’d love to utilize a “Job and Responsibilities” sheet to build upon. Resumes and CSV are a great start here. Although, I believe it’s hard to see someone who has been doing hard labor working 12 hour shifts to sit down and give this much attention that it deserves.

For instance, this person wakes up at 5AM everyday 5 times a week to arrive at 6AM and leave at 6PM. They’re tired. Late 40s and absolutely exhausted. They’ve been on their feet all day walking the shop floor the size of a football field. They only spend time in front of the computer for reports and scheduling and meetings. Navigating anything like LinkedIn, Indeed, and hiring platforms alike. God willing, they may have time to finally say, “I’m getting out of here. I’m getting a different job.”

That’s the person I want to see becoming a power user to truly take control of their future.

Great stuff!

### 5/5 — Career Genie- Fantastic App!

As a first time user of Career Genie I found it very intuitive and easy to use. The layout is also clean and simple to follow. I will definitely be using the app and its built in course and interview strategies to assist in my next career move. A structured task plan would also take it to the next level.

### 5/5 — Great app for closing skills gap

*2024-07-24, version 1.0.12*

Cool app that uses my resume or LinkedIn to suggest careers and shows what skills I’m missing. It offers courses and prep materials, including questions for my level. Super helpful for closing skills gap.
