When I cannot get an app to work, it’s usually pretty bad… This one was presumably rushed and not tested with any real users. Had they tested, they would have figured out quickly that when you ask for a phone number in any context, and especially an international one, you need to provide a format example. Beyond that, best practice is to provide validation hints at data entry time. My title is meant to be the missing format hint. Finally worked for me with exactly that format. But not easily or the first time. I’m sympathetic with the intent and the likely rush. BUT SOMEONE PLEASE FIX THIS! ### 1/5 — Useless App *2021-11-27* Fijian Government is asking its traveller’s to download and use its tracking careFIJI app which does not even work. Have been trying to sign up just does not work. My question : Is it a must to have a cell phone number issued in Fiji? We have been trying to use our foreign country cell number as does not go through. Please educate on this ? Tried to reach out to developers of the app on their contact us form and does not work. This is really frustrating we trying to sign up to help Fiji with COVID tracking but the app does not work. If any government is trying to implement as something as law they to make sure it works and not giving technical errors all the time and hardly getting responses back on enquires sent. It’s preferably to go for holidays to destinations like UAE, Bali, France Will their app actually works and is also helpful for travelers with maps. And this app of tracking app does not make you frustrated ### 1/5 — App tells me there’s a network error *2021-10-18, version 2.0* Every time l check in or out at a premises in town l get this message. So l deleted and reloaded the app, now l cannot get the OTC sent to my mobile number. For something that is deemed so critical to have, it should be working much better. ### 1/5 — Phone number *2021-10-17* I’m visiting and it’s asking me to provide a local phone number to finish setting up app, I don’t have a local phone number. ### 1/5 — App keeps crashing *2021-07-29, version 2.0* Keeps saying “App restart is required for Bluetooth to restart!” Every time I open the app then when I press ok it exits the app. ### 1/5 — Dumb App *2021-07-13* It’s pretty dumb for an app. I’ve deleted and reinstalled this app more than I can count. Anyway, the app is asking for Bluetooth to be turned while it’s already on and keeps asking for the app to be restarted. C’mon now, we’re better off signing in with a pen and paper rather than to deal with an app who won’t even let you use it 🤦‍♀️. Keeps asking for Bluetooth to be turned on but it already is. Tried starting and stopping app and Bluetooth as well as complete reboots. Nothing worked. When putting in your phone number delete the Fiji dialing code numbers there and then put in your country international dialing code as the beginning of your phone number. For United States it was putting a 1 before my number. I got the confirmation code and proceeded with no problem. ### 2/5 — Need better instructions *2021-12-28* We tried and tried to get our verification code from the App. The IT person from the hotel had to help us. We are from the USA and we incorrectly thought we needed to enter our country code. We simply entered +1 and cell number.
