Carefirst insurance in general is extra scammy, but we are here to talk about the app. Their app promotes how you will see the price of the appointment before you start the appointment but when I had an appointment today the ‘appointment cost’ screen popped up for half a second and then progressed to the next screen. Before I know it, I was starting my appointment so I have no idea how much this appointment is going to cost me. I have carefirst insurance so you would think since I loaded my insurance information in the app, appointment copay/cost wouldn’t be neglected. I quit using this app a year or two again but tried it again today bc I was sick and it was ‘convenient’. Last year I was getting bills for appointments 10 months after my initial appointment. Looks like I’m in for another surprise bill July 2024 since I paid nothing today. I’ve used other teledoc apps that are much better than this app which is a shame. You would think using the official teledoc app for my insurance company would have some type of advantages I can’t find elsewhere. The provider I saw today was short in conversation and juuust helpful enough to make the appointment worth the frustration of using the app. App is bad. Providers are bad.

### 4/5 — App

*2023-06-19*

Great app but the only thing I don’t like is how they have the waiting room set up you have to wait and watch your phone to see when the provider will join versus getting a call or text beforehand that the provider is ready( that’s how the other app worked) . I also wish there was an option for video or voice I don't always want to be on camera . Other than that I’ve had good experiences the few times I have called and I do appreciate having this feature available to me.

### 2/5 — Terrible for mental health.

*2022-07-31, version 12.15.003*

I’ve been debating making myself a mental health appointment for awhile now. CareFirst kept sending me emails recommending the video visit app, so I finally decided to go for it. After working up the nerve, I scheduled I visit. I was informed ahead of time it would cost $85, even though when I called BCBS they said I had a 20% copay. Ok…I’d made it this far, and I’m no quitter. So I put my payment info in and waited. 5 minutes after my appointment time a chat opened, saying they were support staff there to help with any questions prior to my appointment. They promptly left the chat, so I couldn’t even respond. 15 minutes after my appointment time another chat popped up. This one regretted to inform me that the therapist had declined my appointment request and I would not be charged. I made that appointment a week in advance and was told if I didn’t give 24 hours notice of cancelling I would be charged $40. Considering the amount of anxiety to even blindly make this appointment, then the 15 minutes of waiting, and that I wasted quite a bit of time on my day off ( I could have done other things if I hadn’t had the appointment), they should be compensating me for the cancellation at this point. What a terrible way to care for patients.

### 5/5 — Relieved

*2022-02-08, version 12.10.003*

The earliest dermatology appointment I could get was a week from now. With flaring itchy and painful symptoms I did not want to wait that long. So grateful for the ability to use telehealth to see a doctor sooner.

### 5/5 — Awesome care

*2021-11-20, version 12.10.003*

Today was my first time accessing my new benefits and all the staff (nurse, doctor, appointment help) were phenomenal. They all provided great help and answered all my questions. I felt calm during an upsetting time.

### 4/5 — Video Failed to started

*2021-11-02, version 12.10.003*

Everything seemed to work well from my side but the Dr was unable to make a video connection. However, she was able to call and complete the appointment.

### 5/5 — Awesome service

*2021-10-31, version 12.10.003*

They find doctors in your state unlike some of the other tele apps. The video quality is great and so is the service of the doctors. This is perfect because you also get to see how much the copay is before deciding to go through with your visit

### 5/5 — Video Visit was just great!!

*2021-10-03, version 12.10.003*

I have tired of waiting for appointments with WALK-In clinics. Why do I need an appointment if it’s a walk-in clinic! 😃 Anyway, I saw Authrine Whyte, a family doctor, and she was awesome!
She was pleasant, and smiled while interacting with me. She actually listened and didn’t try to cut me short like plenty of doctors do. She gave me good advice, took time to look at my chart, and was quite knowledgeable about causes and gave me strategies to use. I will use Video Visit again should I need something from a doctor.
Wonderful experience!!

### 5/5 — Love the app!

*2021-09-16, version 12.10.003*

This is awesome! So quick and convenient. I saw a doctor within a matter of minutes and got meds for my cough and laryngitis. Fantastic service.

### 5/5 — Carefirst video visit

*2021-07-07, version 12.10.003*

This was far better than any urgent care !!! It was also better than going to the doctor. Will DEFINITELY use again and tell others about my experience. Thank you!!!!

### 5/5 — First time

*2021-07-06, version 12.10.003*

I am so grateful for this because I did not have my car and I really needed to see someone so I am so grateful for this opportunity and Dr. I Trish was excellent. Way to go Care first

### 5/5 — First time, not my last

*2021-06-08, version 12.10.003*

I have an uncomfortable UTI and I really did not feel like traveling to the urgent care center, waiting and then having to wait at the pharmacy. This was a great alternative. I wish I knew about this option through my insurance earlier. I’m very pleased.

### 5/5 — Convenient & COVID safe

*2021-03-30, version 12.0.1603*

Thank you CareFirst for making video visits an option. I have met with a nutritionist which I would have not done without a video visit and I was able to consult & follow-up with a Dr regarding medication interaction when my Dr was not available. Peace of mind is priceless!

### 5/5 — Dr. Olu Gisanrin

*2021-03-27, version 12.0.1603*

Dr. Gisanrin was very helpful and patient. Its rare to find a doctor who not only listens to your concerns, but also takes time to provide medical advice about your condition—especially on a virtual platform. He was very thorough about my condition and treatment options. Great experience!!

### 5/5 — Wondering Meeting

*2021-03-04, version 12.0.1603*

Circe was amazing . Her knowledge, compassion, and demeanor made me feel very comfortable. I was able gain so much from our conversation and look forward to working with her again very soon. Thank you Circe!!!

If you have CareFirst insurance and don’t live in Maryland prepare to have tons of surprise out of pocket expenses. First of all nobody knows what Carefirst is. Anything you’re told in the app or over the phone by carefirst staff means nothing or as carefirst puts it ‘is only an estimate and does not guarantee coverage’. Carefirst staff will try to assist you but at the end of the day if they give you wrong information and nothing happens to them while you get stuck paying hundreds of dollars in surprise expenses. You could record the entire conversation where you got wrong information from CareFirst and you still have to float the bill because they already told you their words and tools mean nothing. Don’t take my word for it. Watch your claims over the years and find out for yourself. I’m glad to see this app has gotten better over the years. My experience with Carefirst coverage has not. Oh one more thing, don’t be surprised when you get bills from appointments you had 10 months ago. Hopefully for your sake you didn’t have a bunch of those same appointments and the bills are racked up.

### 1/5 — Deceptive billing and terrible service

*2022-12-21, version 12.17.003*

Carefirst billed me beyond what I authorized ten months after my visit and gave little notice. I have Carefirst health insurance but even though this is a Carefirst app they decided not to cover what they said they would.

The visit itself was rushed and I was given a prescription which didn’t work and had to do an in person visit anyways.

I am deleting the app and not only would I not recommend it, I would say their billing is deceptive and fraudulent.

### 1/5 — App could be better

*2022-09-14, version 12.17.003*

Convenient app. The urgent care is great. Anything that you have to schedule an appointment forget about it. They will cancel you last minute. They will move your appointment time without confirming it with you. Now your stuck without knowing you “missed” the moved appointment and they want you to pay a fee. It’s a scam to get your money. They you have to rebook for week on out! Doesn’t make any since and they shouldn’t be allowed to do that.

### 1/5 — No

*2022-01-01, version 12.10.003*

This app doesn’t allow you to contact anyone before or after your appointment. It also makes you enter your insurance information and then tells you what type of appointments are eligible for Medicare Advantage even though that isn’t your insurance. I don’t care what other insurance plans are eligible for. I have blue cross insurance and I’m using the blue cross app. Tell me what my insurance covers not what’s covered for a different plan. Also, I have a billing issue but there isn’t a way to fix it contacting the billing physician through the app. I wouldn’t recommend this app. Even when physicians email you, there is no way to respond because it’s from a “donotreply” email. I scheduled an appointment which the physician reviewed my health history and then canceled my appointment an hour before my appointment. I was told the appointment was double booked and I should see my previous provider. Only problem is my previous provider doesn’t have any appointments open and I have no way to contact anyone. This app is probably great if you aren’t worried about repeat visits and being overcharged for appointments. I’d be careful though if you get prescribed medication from this appointment. If there’s any issues with the prescription you won’t have anyone to contact.

### 1/5 — Will never use again

*2021-03-10, version 12.0.1603*

I tried this app because I was having a difficult time reaching my doctors office. I logged in and saw this Male physical - I explained my issue and he did absolutely nothing for me. The prescription he gave me was useless - it did nothing for my issue and I was in pain. I called and inquired about a different prescription and he refused to reconsider. I paid to see another female physician - she prescribed something different and explain how to resolve my issue - that same day my symptoms got better and in two days I was no longer in pain.

I lodged a complaint and requested a refund for my copay and was told his care was appropriate. I beg to differ.

### 1/5 — Awful!

*2020-03-31, version 11.5.700*

This is awful. I waited three hours, and then when I was only 3 people left it said dr was no longer available, and it kicks you out instead of transferring to another doctor, so you have to wait hours again. I tried again another day, waited over two hours, saw a doctor for 3 minutes, and they never sent the prescription he said he was going to send (and it’s listed in my visit chart- he just never sent it to pharmacy. And There is no way to message the doctor you saw for emergency care, so I need to wait 2-3 hours again to see a different doctor to possibly be kicked out after waiting or them to also be incompetent.

### 1/5 — this app is an outrage

*2020-03-29, version 11.5.700*

Even though I was told I was covered for this service by Blue Cross, the app forced me to pay out of pocket because it had issues, then after I did that and signed up for a telehealth urgent care appointment (recommended by a nurse after I described my symptoms) despite waiting forever for my appointment it kept booting me off randomly and expected me to sigh in and start from scratch, thinking I completed an appointment it never allowed me to even continue to wait in line for. This app is fraudulent.

### 1/5 — FURIOUS

*2020-03-25, version 11.5.700*

I AM SERIOUSLY LIVID!!! I waited for a Dr. from 7:21pm until 4:34am. I NEVER saw the dr despite after 6hrs of waiting saying “you are the next patient”. My phone locked after 20% and I don’t know if that kicked me out or if just having not finally “seen” the doctor after so long kicked me out. Either way after ten hours, again TEN HOURS to see an online video chat doctor I still saw NO ONE and was asked to go back into waiting behind at least 8 other people. I am a mom of 3 boys, one of which is 8weeks old and nurses (breastfeeds). I don’t have TEN HOURS to sit on my phone after a long day, nursing, and now still having to get up with my other 2 boys in just a few hours with little to no sleep. I AM NOT HAPPY!!!

### 1/5 — Lose Place in Line if Change Apps

*2020-03-20, version 11.5.700*

I have been trying to get an appointment for hours now - I was 5th in line with Doctor A; then 26th in line with Doc B; kicked off completely; now I have gone from 1 patient ahead of me to 2 patients ahead of me after another 50 minutes... curious what the problem is application wise (I know that a global pandemic increases volume, but why does my place in line change).

Just happened again.

From person 2 to person 3... twice!

### 1/5 — App crashes before a visit can be initiated

*2019-09-26, version 11.4.106*

I wanted to be able to use this app on my mobile phone as it was designed, but it literally crashed every time I tried to input required information.

The only success I had was signing in through CareFirst on my laptop and choosing the video visit option there.

Following a successful visit online via computer, the app prompted me to check for the PDF summary for my visit. It was nice to know the app and online experiences synced up immediately.

But of course, when I opened the PDF in the app on my phone, it crashed every time I tried to advance to the next page.

Great concept if you can get the app to actually work.

### 5/5 — Just easier and faster

*2023-09-20*

Just open the app when you are ready to get seen by the doc. Works really well for anything that can be easily fixed with a Rx or to find out whether you really need to go to the ER. I have used this app a handful of times and haven’t had any idiot doctors on here. Unlike urgent care, these doctors won’t automatically send you to the ER if you have anything more than a scrape. I often prefer the convenience of being able to see a doc when I am awake at 3am and can’t sleep than waiting till 9am to try to schedule a same day appointment with my PCP for later that afternoon. And if you do need to go to the ER, going at 3am usually means you get seen pretty much right away. If you wait till 5pm, you might be waiting for 6 hours or more.

### 5/5 — Really helpful

*2023-09-16*

And saved us a ton of time. Best case we would have gone for a walk in at the doctors office. Would take about an hour. Worse case we go to the local urgent care. 4 plus hours! Problem solved in the comfort of home, about 20 mins total including wait, at home while I cleaned up after dinner.

### 5/5 — There for you

*2023-09-14*

I truly appreciate this aspect of Blue Cross Blue Shield care first. Having a physician to address your needs 24 hours a day is amazing. I have claustrophobia and I have to have an MRI done in the morning early. It’s a 2 Hour Dr. from my home Dr. Babalola was extremely compassionate, professional, and informative everything one would hope for from a physician. I appreciate her time and even her well wishes for my health. She was exceptional better than I even expected, she’s definitely a 5star doctor.

### 5/5 — Super easy and fast

*2023-08-31*

My provider was very easy to talk to and answered any questions I had. She prescribed the exact medication (prednisone) that has alway been effective at treating my asthmatic bronchitis in the past! The video visit is so much easier and safer than sitting in an urgent care clinic with all of the other patients being seen for possible contagious illnesses!! Highly recommend!!

### 5/5 — Online visit

*2023-07-23*

Dr Nelson was great talking with me about the UTI I have, they should voice the fact that if you are a male and have a UTI,they can not do anything for you, because it’s unusual for males and they don’t have a urine sample, which this is out of his control,it should be the ones who set up the o lines Dr visits to let you know this up front, this way you don’t lose $59 which it says you can cancel and not be taken out of you account, but mine was taking the minute I hit submit,The Dr was very good and very knowledgeable of what I need to do next, and i explained that we have done this for the last 2 yrs, they go away after antibiotics but always come back 6months or so later,it’s always the same thing, ecoli, and they don’t know what is causing it to come back, but I have about came to the conclusion that it’s something that I will have to live with off and on for the rest of my life,I have been to urologists, had scopes done, everything I was told to do,so anyway Dr Nelson was a great Dr,just couldn’t help me because on the rules and me being a male with a UTI,only down fall I see is on the people who have you waiting to see the dr,they should let you know what they can’t treat before your money is taken,God Bless

### 5/5 — Just who I needed

*2023-07-21*

Toni is such a blessing to me. In one session she helped me more than I could of ever imagined. She gave me the strength to work through my problems and emotions. I love that she is faith based, me being a christian and knowing God is on this journey with me gives me hope that I can and will eventually be ok. Thank you Toni for the recommendations of books and steps to take in healing. Booking my next session now!! God bless you!

### 5/5 — Quick and efficient

*2023-02-10, version 12.17.003*

Over the years I have had several teledoc providers due to my employment changing. This is by far the best I have had. Not only was it quick but very efficient and saved me at least 2 hours sitting in a sick urgent care waiting room.

### 5/5 — Virtual visit for strep throat

*2022-11-14, version 12.17.003*

Unable to get an appointment with normal physician. This was so easy and didn’t have to leave the house! Doctor was kind and explained everything to us

### 5/5 — Delightful

*2022-09-08, version 12.15.003*

Dr. Bernhoff was absolutely wonderful! Not only was he very professional, he was very kind and understanding. I enjoyed learning about the difference between virtual and bacterial sinusitis. If it was possible, I would use him as my primary care physician!

### 5/5 — Problem Solved

*2022-02-22, version 12.10.003*

I’ve had a rash for a few days that the it h is uncomfortable. I reached out to CareFirst because my pcp doesn’t have anything openings to accommodate my need. They suggested the video visit and I wish I’d know sooner. I was able to get diagnosed and prescribed a medication within 30 mins.
